"Kingfisher is a delightful little holiday lodge - a gorgeous retreat in stunning surroundings."
It is beautifully presented with high quality furnishings and fittings. Ideally located to visit the area - Cambridge, Ely and Bury-St-Edmunds are all fairly close by. Access upstairs could be a challenge for some but otherwise it’s a perfect gem.

"We have just spent a delightful week at Kingfisher, the property is lovely with all you could wish for your use and comfort."
It was the recent heat wave but due to the excellent facilities provided it didn't impact on our pleasure. The extra thoughtful touches make a huge difference, so big thanks for the milk, wine, chocolate biscuits and iced water, even the ice cube tray was filled! Many Thanks from Jan and Mick Throop

"This is described as two bedroomed accommodation but getting to the upstairs is up very steep stairs and has a low ceiling which is not stated in the description, but for a couple it is nice and peaceful and comfortable and my wife and I enjoyed our stay there."
There is no instructions on heating controls or what to put in which bins or when they should be put out for collection which would have been handy to know.

"We loved Kingfisher and would be more than happy to return to this delightful property in its idyllic setting with its verandah, garden, and terrace overlooking the river."
We'd settle for the 'duck alarm' any time in this quiet location! A huge bonus was the provision of an EV charger. This made charging our car so easy, convenient, and was very much appreciated.
The garden was also perfect for our small Norfolk terrier - although the fencing to the river would benefit from a little netting. We couldn't allow her off the lead because her eagerness to get to know the ducks was just too great!
We've deducted one star for these reasons: As a former holiday cottage owner of the same standard, it was unforgivable to have tacky plastic flowers dotted around the garden; there were also dead flowers dumped in a bucket by the front/patio door. The verandah obviously hadn't been cleaned for ages and was covered in duck poo. When I ran my holiday let, owners were required to provide a hairdryer as standard. After searching high and low throughout the house, no hairdryer had been provided. So, I had the extra expense of paying £25.00 for a new one. Had I known, I'd have taken my travel edition with us.

"Lovely location, being right next to the water & abundant wildlife meant it was very easy to relax & unwind."
I would imagine in the summer it would be even better as unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to make full use of the outside space.
Inside, the accommodation is well layed out & is very comfortable to use.
The only downside was the stairs. They felt very unsafe to go up & down so we did not use the upstairs at all. I think putting full stairs in instead of the left & right alternate ones would be very beneficial to allowing people to use the upstairs more.
All in all, I would recommend the accommodation - mainly for the location.

"Just returned home from a lovely break at Isleham - lovely and quiet with plenty of geese and ducks to watch from the outdoor seating area."
Lovely and bright interior - I would have appreciated a foot stool and more comfy pillows on the bed (the mattress was very comfy though).
Great to have a smart TV with good WiFi.
The kitchen could have had a larger fridge for a week’s worth of food but everything else was great.

"My wife and I enjoyed a terrific fortnight at the Kingfisher property, a holiday with plenty to see and do whilst staying in accommodation which suited us perfectly - spacious, well-equipped, comfortable and a location which was little quirky."
We loved having the marina setting, with a sunny seating area right on the river to see our neighbours - mostly ducks! The village itself had good pubs and a Co-Op, and all our sightseeing in Ely, Cambridge, etc. was easy to access. Highly recommended as a base to explore Cambridgeshire

"Lovely property, beautiful Picturesque views."
Garden could do with a trim up and tidy. The bedroom quilt was too small for the cover although not needed as was hot. The bathroom door is catching on the floor so hard to close and open, apart from that it was a lovely property.

"Kingfisher is lovely and calm, it’s a very peaceful place and we had a relaxing time."
Everything was clean and practical, thank you.
The only slightly surprising bit was that the garden area wasn’t enclosed and so the dogs had to be on a lead whilst outside the property. We bought a but of trellis to stretch across the steps to the balcony so they could be a bit freer on the balcony. Aside from this everything was great

"New furniture with old fashioned curtains, bed linen, towels and plates."
Needs more plates. Downstairs facilities good, but second 'bedroom' a challenge - open, steep wooden stairs with bed tightly fitted under eaves. Adult can't stand at full height.
Bathroom could do with update.
Lovely garden and 2 decks to eat out/relax. Very quiet area and good base for exploring Cambridgeshire. Lots of National Trust properties nearby.
Lovely touch with welcome pack - wine, biscuits, water and milk.

"We had a very relaxing and enjoyable 7 nights staying at Kingfisher."
Thanks Rob, for the lovely welcome gifts of wine, milk and biscuits.
Everything was as described, and what we expected. As well as the interior being very comfortable and well equipped with modern appliances, it was nice to be able to sit out on either the balcony, or the waterside decking, whilst listening to the birds or watching an amazing sunset.
The accommodation is in a perfect location for some peace and quiet, and also ideally located for exploring Suffolk and Norfolk.
We would certainly recommend Kingfisher!
