    "We had an awesome two days with the kids."

    They loved the play area and badminton set up. Very relaxing and serene. Beautiful view of the stars at night ). We didn't have much engagement with the owners (I personally prefer a physical interaction) but I guess they were careful not to intrude and im sure they are lovely people considering their dilligence.

    "We spent a lovely week at this property."

    It was very clean and comfortable for the six of us. Our children, one of them autistic, loved the garden and enjoyed many hours playing in the play area. The owners were very attentive to our needs and kindly provided some welcome gifts upon arrival. We'd happily go back there again!

    "Pros: Clean, well-equipped kitchen and a nice playground outside."

    Cons: An uncomfortable / unfriendly welcome because we were half an hour early, after a long drive from South Wales. Quite a bit smaller than it appeared in the photos. No door on the bedroom, so it is hard to use the living room when a toddler is sleeping. Worst part was the cockerel crowing from 4am-7am, waking our toddler up. Unfortunately, lots of sleepless nights.

    Hi Eshmael, we are really disappointed to read this review. As you can see we have had nothing but 5* reviews On the site it clearly states 3pm check in - you turned up at 2.30 pm and Steve explained to you that due to having a lot of cleaning to do from previous guests we were a little behind. Within 5 minutes I came around explained that I was just putting the last bits in but you were welcome to go in. We bent over backwards running around and you were in within a maximum of 10 minutes of arriving so feel that you stating we were unfriendly and unwelcoming is an unfair review. You where in the property by 2.40 pm. Within the explanation on the Sykes site it states that the bedroom is a mezzanine bedroom and the pictures clearly show there is no door on the bedroom area. Cockerel - we have not had any complaints previously and with being a small holding we do have farm animals that you may hear from time to time . If you would have approached us in the week to explain the situation we would have done our best to resolve this issue for you. Cleanliness- you have given us 75% on cleanliness but state as a pro that the property was clean, prior to every visit all crockery etc is put through the dishwasher the bathroom and kitchen have a deep clean also on your arrival, the sofas had been fully washed, floors hoovered and hand scrubbed . All clean towels and linen, I would really appreciate if you could tell me what area you felt did not meet your standards as we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the property.     "We had a fantastic first stay here in April 2025 and we will definitely be coming back."

    The property was clean, homely and had everything we needed. Beds were nice and comfy, plenty of facilities available and the garden was amazing. The kids had the best time playing on the playground in the garden. The lovely owners also very kindly brought over 3 baby chickens for the children to pet which was so lovely! Highly recommend this holiday home, we loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to return!

    "So good that we extended our stay to 3 weeks."

    Welcomed with fresh eggs from the adjacent farm. Clean warm and comfortable accomodation. Great for couples (us) or a family - unfortunately I'm too old to make use of the fantastic play area. Location is perfect for exploring Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire and we went as far as Liverpool using the frequent and cheap Merseyrail service from Chester. Thanks for a relaxing break.

    "It was the most amazing and ideal getaway for a family."

    Owners were very welcoming and we appreciate our little gifts. Lovely location with a very well equipped kitchen. Soft and comfortable beds and huge play area outside for the kids to play on. We even got to meet little Henry which was great! My little boy loved playing with the train track and the girls enjoyed the games. It was these little touches that made the whole experience so pleasant and wonderful. This cottage has everything that a family could want and need. It was also very lovely meeting all the chickens and animals on the farm. We all had a fantastic stay and didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be visiting again!

    "It’s our second time coming to the old nursery and despite the weather being against us this time."

    and the park being very muddy (which we expected), we still absolutely loved our stay. Our kids are 11, 7 and 5 and all had a great time. So much so we’re going back again in summer! We cannot fault the cottage, the outdoor space is amazing, there’s lovely welcome gifts on arrival and it’s so spacious and clean. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it. All the ingredients for a brilliant family holiday…….big tv, comfy sofas outside space and bunk beds! Well equipped kitchen had everything we needed. Large open plan living area was great. Little extras like eggs and biscuits were a lovely touch and much appreciated.
