  • "This was our third visit to The Brambles we love the peaceful location and comfort of the cottage it is spotlessly clean and very well equipped in all areas."

    The hosts Karen and Mark are very warm and welcoming but not intrusive and are on hand if there is a problem. A small welcome pack was left for our arrival and even included treats for our dogs which was much appreciated. Towels and quality bedding are also provided as are some cleaning essentials. The location of the cottage is set in a quiet lane with views of fields it is not far from lots of places of interest and pretty walks including National trust properties and the coast is also not far away. We hope to be back for a fourth visit very soon.

  • "The brambles is a beautiful place we had the best time there is everything you could possibly need and the views are amazing !"

    ! Karen and Mark are lovely our 13 year old lab had major surgery on his leg and they provided a runner for us to help him not to slide on the wooden floors we were so grateful. We had a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits for us and the dogs everything was just perfect and 5 mins drive from our son and his family who we where visiting we will definitely be back soon we didn’t want to leave it was much needed after an awful year with the loss of my dad and our old boy having major surgery if was just what the doctor ordered so peaceful and relaxing a fantastic choice of accommodation Thank you Karen and Mark

    On entering the cottage we were pleased at the set out and cleanliness and how kind it was of Mark and Karen to leave a lovely box of chocolates and a bottle of wine as well as coffee tea milk and lots of cleaning products.everything we needed and more. We had some lovely walks and great days out. We will definitely be coming back

The location provides peace and tranquility and is close to a wide variety of interesting and beautiful villages, towns and historic sites.   • "We have just spent a week at The Brambles ,the location is very peaceful but not too far from places of interest there are several National trust properties in the area and the coast isn't too far away ."

    When we arrived there was a welcome pack which was very much appreciated. The property is spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you are likely to need ,it is comfortable and warm . The owners live in the grounds and are on hand if there was any problems. We would love to visit again .

The Brambles is situated in an idyllic rural location in the hamlet of Sutton Green, which lies to the east of Wrexham and south of Chester, Holt can be found 4 miles away and the village of Bangor on Dee can be found 3 miles in the opposite direction.

Situated by the English-Wales border, you’ll find the best of both worlds at this one-bedroom property which sleeps two, making it perfect for couples looking for a hideaway with a furry friend or two.

Step into an open-plan living space with its high, vaulted ceilings and plush, leather seating to cuddle up on when you want to watch a movie on the TV, as well as a table set for two for your romantic tête-à-têtes and a fully-equipped kitchen for you to show off your cooking skills to your special someone.

When the weather allows, double doors will lead you to the enclosed, furnished patio where you can enjoy lunch in the sun or wake up early with a steaming cup of tea to watch the sunrise over the field.

After a long day exploring the beauties of North Wales, stand under the hot spray of the walk-in shower in the shower room, then head to rest in a cushy king-sized bed.

Tear yourself away from your haven to have breakfast at Stables Coffee Shop, then a mouthwatering lunch or dinner at The Royal Oak, you’ll also find a handful of convenience stores and supermarkets at your disposal for when you need to stock up the fridge.

A short drive will take you the Wrexham, North Wales’ largest city where you can visit the ruins of Holt Castle, Erddig a National Trust 18th-century manor where you can tour the house and its pristinely-kept 12,000-acre garden or take a hike across Moss Valley Country Park, a former coal mining valley turned parkland.

Cross the border over to the lovely city of Chester and visit the Roman Wall and Rows, the Cathedral and river, then go to say hello to the animals at Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium.

There are country walks direct from the door and numerous cycling routes in the Wrexham and West Cheshire Area, as well as fishing within walking distance of the property on the River Dee (payable).

The Brambles is a perfect getaway for you and your loved one.

HOLT, NORTH WALES

Wrexham 5 miles; Chester 10 miles.

The Welsh/English border village of Holt was founded in 1282 and sits on the banks of the River Dee, 10 miles from Chester, where the Holt Bridge formed an important border crossing with Farndon for centuries. The village has seen several conflicts during its existence and damage from musket shots can still be seen in the door of the impressive St Chad’s Church. Holt is a picturesque village with a small village green, local pubs and shops and the ruins of Holt Castle, which date back to around 1284. Across the river lies the village of Farndon, over the border in England, where visitors will find splendid little shops, as well as welcoming pubs, ideal for relaxing in with friends and family. Why not visit the Roman City of Chester with its famous Rows, excellent shopping, celebrated zoo and popular racecourse? For those who like walking and outdoor activities, Snowdonia National Park is only a couple of hours drive away and is ideal for days out. Holt is a perfect base from which to enjoy this beautiful and exciting region.
