  • "Lodge met all our expectations"

  • "Lovely break away, little package for essentials is a nice touch!"

Only thing I would mention is that our torch provided was broken which would of came in handy while walking the dog. However, all in all a great stay.

  • "Lovely property."

Quiet and beautiful location on the lake. Clean, spacious and the hot tub was fantastic. Only issue was the beds- all the mattresses need replacing. Lumpy and soft which was a major downside of the property. We did raise this with Sykes before going, based on another review, but nothing was done and this would stop us re-booking this property.

  • "Beautiful position."

Lacked some pizazz; many others had outside parasols, plants on balcony etc. No windows, many doors which would have been okay but missing keys in order to open as very warm in cottage. Some grime on shower head and hose and around seals. All door handles loose and some blinds didn't roll properly. Overall beautiful stay but needs some care and attention.

Superb lodge, wonderful surroundings, great hot tub. We loved feeding the birds and fishes. To wake up early, open the double doors in the bedroom and watch the wildlife was heavenly. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing holiday

But the lodge as usual was 100 per cent excellent in every way

  • "Lovely lodge with fantastic setting next to lake."

Quiet location with lodges well separated with hot tub in great private position. Amazing to lay in bed and look out over lake in the morning. Enclosed decking was perfect for the dog.

  • "Lovely lodge very tranquil and just what we needed."

Great location if you want to travel into Looe or Polperro The only negative I would say is the signage could be better to help people find their lodge, on the day we arrived we had at least 5 different people turn around on our steep drive extremely close to our car which did make me nervous and could have been easily avoided with some clearer signs

  • "The location was brilliant for a relaxing holiday in Cornwall and good access to go and explore."

The accommodation was spacious and well equipped.

  • "During covid we had no soap when arriving which I think is paramount, this was rectified the next day."

The furniture seemed out of place with two sofas that didn't really fit in the room. The sink and tap made such a mess as water splashed everywhere and the freezer was missing a drawer. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and felt very old.

  • "Beautiful accommodation, in lovely location."

Property exceeded expectations and highly recommend. Disappointing though that cleaning co arrived an hour early, told us leaving time was 9.00 whereas it was 10.00 and then sat hovering in their car until asked them to leave. It caused unnecessary stress taking the edge off a lovely break.

  • "It was lovely, a few small details, like the lamp next to bed not working, towel rails not coming on unless we put the heating on, but other than that all good."

I think you should have a few more basic essentials upon arrival, like bread, milk and tea and coffee, and more tupperware, oil and butter.

  • "We had such a lovely time staying at 7 Waters Edge."

Was so peaceful and tranquil, just what we needed! Only thing that needs attention is the tap on the kitchen which is leaking. Stonerush Lakes is a beautiful place to stay if you are wanting to get away from it all, and is close to many tourist attractions and beaches if you want to get out and about. This was our second visit and are already looking into when we can book our next visit

  • "I have booked with Sykes before and found the information online regarding the property very accurate and the pictures true to life."

The Waters Edge lodge at Stonerush lakes is absolutely gorgeous. The decor and furnishings are modern and stylish and create a very comfortable and homely environment. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms are spacious. The main bedroom had a fantastic view over the lake as does the lounge area. The onsite reception, bar and restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere and the site is very well maintained. We will definitely return.

  • "The property was great and we really enjoyed our stay."

Maybe worth adding to the listing: - Kitchen Towels/Oven Glove provided. - Amenity kit provided on arrival. Improvements required: - Bathroom blind does not twist open/close (no privacy - needs replacing) - Main Bedroom blind does not open/close (had to be kept permanently down for privacy which meant no morning view is the lake - needs replacing) - Requires outside light on decking for access to hot tub when dark. - Decking slippery when wet - Needs good clean (pressure wash) or decking boards with groves. Hope this helps.

  • "The situation of this lodge is perfect right on the edge of the lake."

The lodge is extremely comfortable although the sofa is a bit low. The reason for the slightly low mark for facilities is..When.we reported that the blind in the main bedroom was broken. We were told by the disinterested lady on reception that that they were aware there was an issue with the blind and did we want ‘someone to look at it’. We had previously reported on arrival that the washing machine had towels inside and the door on the washing machine would not open. When we return to the lodge later that day the door had been fixed but the wet towels were still in the machine and the blind still broken! So the lodge is perfect but it is being let down but very poor facilities management and customer relations.

  • "The blind in the family bathroom doesn't close, it is broken, so can't close the blind when having a shower or going to the toilet."

The blind in the main bedroom is broken and has been tied back up. On arrival the parasol was broken and on a chair, so I assume it had been noticed. There were 4 mugs and 4 glasses which is ridiculous for a property which costs this much! There should be at least 8 of each if not more, so this meant constant washing up. Raised nails on the decking - so don't go on the decking bare foot. No oven glove in the property - plenty of towels and bedding was lovely. Position of lodge is amazing - personal opinion is that this lodge was in a much better condition when Blue Chip Holidays were letting it. Not so many broken items and seemed as though it was being taken care of.

It looks quite basic online but when you arrive it takes your breath away . We really were pleasantly surprised. By far the best uk break I’ve ever been on. It was out fodt holiday in a year and with out new born disabled son. Everything was just perfect and really helped us relax after a rather stressful year

  • "This lodge was by far the best holiday lodge we have stayed in."

We have been "lodging" for 5 years now and have stayed in some really cramped, overcrowded parks. Whereas this park was so well set out, plenty of space and we'll kept. The lodge was huge too - a large balcony, with 4 doors out onto it, and a big bath. This is definitely the bar that should be set for lodges.

  • "We booked 7 waters edge for the valentines weekend and we have had a fantastic time."

The lodge was beautiful and the views were amazing. We took our dog with us and the balcony area was perfect for him. He loved watching the fish over the edge. The only thing we noticed is there should be some outside lighting as using the hot tub in the evening when it gets dark is difficult as there’s no lights. Would recommend staying here to anyone who would like a relaxing weekend.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
