  • "Had a wonderful holiday staying at Maylands."

What a wonderful bungalow, so light and clean, (want to live there!) beautiful views with a huge garden for the dog to play and loved having the cows and calves as neighbours. The weather was perfect all week with plenty of walking and sightseeing. Been a long time since being in Cornwall in May and had forgotten how stunning it is, as always come in November to Polzeath as less people about and can walk Indie (GSD) on the beach. Love the views from Port Gaverne. Walking at Daymer Bay to Rock and Polzeath. It would be nice for a few essentials to be in the property like washing up liquid etc, salt pepper, and a welcome pack. A few other places I've stayed at have included milk, tea, coffee and bottle wine. A small loaf bread or seeing as its Cornwall scones and cream would be a very nice touch. Can't wait till November when we'll be back staying for two weeks at Lundy Bay. ????????????

The property

Situated just a short way inland above the bay of Port Gaverne, Maylands is a tranquil and secluded coastal bolthole.

The small and sheltered beach of Port Gaverne is just a five-minute walk, and from here you can enjoy swimming, kayaking and even coasteering, followed by a hearty lunch in the popular Port Gaverne pub.

Continue around the cliff to Port Isaac with its thriving fishing harbour, and quaint cobbled high street, peppered with boutique gift shops and galleries, and award winning eateries.

Located in an elevated position, the property enjoys beautiful rural views, and a glimpse of the sea in the distance - a particular feature of Maylands are the extensive grounds, perfect for those with a little energy to expend, your canine companion included!

Sleeping six people in three bedrooms, this is a charming and welcoming holiday cottage perfect for a family getaway.

All situated on the ground floor, the accommodation at Maylands is friendly and welcoming, and you instantly feel at home upon entering the property.

The open plan kitchen dining area is well-equipped and is a great space to enjoy family time cooking and eating together.

After a hearty feed, relax into the comfortable sofas in the sitting room for some reminiscing of the day's adventures, and perhaps light the fire for extra warmth on a blustery day.

The bedrooms are flooded with natural light, making them restful spaces for recharging the batteries after busy days spent exploring.

Outside, the spacious terrace is the perfect area for outdoor meals whilst enjoying the stunning views.

Situated in a prime location to explore the coast of North Cornwall, outdoor enthusiasts will welcome the challenge and beauty of the nearby South West Coast Path, with trails leading through Port Isaac to Port Quin, and the breath-taking bays of Epphaven and Lundy.

Oppositely, head North to discover Trebarwith Strand, which on a low tide is the ultimate environment for children keen to explore rock pools and caves.

By car, a short 10-minute drive will bring you to the popular beaches of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock, with a foot ferry across to Padstow making it the perfect location from which to explore the North coast of Cornwall.

Maylands is an exceptionally desirable retreat for those in search of peace and tranquillity on North Cornwall’s unspoilt coastline.

About the location

Polzeath 6 miles; Padstow 9 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
