Rollies Retreat is an inviting ground-floor apartment resting in Whitecross, Llaneglos, Cornwall, enjoying off-road parking for two cars, a private garden, and a setting within easy reach of the coast.

Well-suited to couples or small groups, this thoughtfully arranged base offers a straightforward and well-placed retreat for exploring the surrounding countryside and coastline.

At the heart of the apartment is an open-plan living space, where the kitchen, dining, and sitting areas come together in one sociable setting.

This shared space lends itself to both relaxed mornings and quiet evenings, with natural light filtering through to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere.

The kitchen is equipped for preparing simple meals, while the dining area provides a spot to gather and plan the day ahead.

The sitting area offers a place to unwind, whether catching up on a programme or simply enjoying time indoors.

Two double bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements for couples or friends travelling together, while a modern walk-in shower room completes the layout with a practical finish.

Outside, the private garden combines lawn and patio, offering space for outdoor dining or a drink in the fresh air, with the surrounding setting adding to the sense of escape.

A shop can be found within a short drive, along with a welcoming local pub, including the popular Dixy Cow, a little further afield.

When it comes to exploring, head to nearby Lansallos Beach, managed by the National Trust, where a short walk from the car park leads to an unspoilt stretch of coastline.

Atlantic Bay is also within reach, accessed via a cliff path and offering dramatic sea views.

Venture to Polperro, with its narrow streets and harbour setting, or visit Looe for a traditional seaside day out with beaches and coastal walks.

For something further afield, the Eden Project provides a memorable day out with its striking biomes and landscaped gardens.

Rollies Retreat offers a well-located base for discovering this part of Cornwall.

POLRUAN

Polperro 6.5 miles; Looe 10 miles; Lostwithiel 10 miles.

Polruan is a small fishing village situated on a steep hill on the Fowey estuary, made famous by the author Daphne du Maurier. It remains unspoilt and retains the atmosphere of an old boat building community and has a small beach. The Polruan chain tower known as Polruan Blockhouse is one of only five known to exist in England, and is a small structure built beside a river or harbour to house the mechanism for raising and lowering a defensive chain to prevent the passage of ships in times of danger. It and the chain tower on the opposite bank of the River Fowey are the earliest chain towers to have been constructed. The village has a Post Office, local store, gift shop and pubs. A five minute ferry ride will take you to Fowey, with a range of sophisticated shops and restaurants. In August, the Fowey Regatta is a fun-filled week of activities and events, including RNLI displays, a carnival, spectacular firework displays and a display of classic yachts.
