The property

Nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Mount near Bodmin Moor, is this characterful 18th century cottage, Bandylegs Cottage.

Perfect for couples and families seeking some serious R&R, it is a superb base to relax and unwind as well as explore Cornwall’s top visitor attractions, being mid-way between the North and South coasts and with beautiful moorlands on the doorstep.

With oodles of charisma and charm, the cottage boasts original beams, stonework and flagstone floors with a contemporary open-plan living space, creating a stylish and cosy ambience. Upon arrival, you will be delighted to find a private, off-road parking space, before taking in your lovely home-from-home's idyllic surroundings.

Make your way inside to a spacious open-plan living space, where a fabulous sitting area with plush seating awaits.

The bright kitchen area is well-equipped with appliances and sleek fittings, and has views out to the rest of the space, where the chef of the group can watch on as the kids play on the Xbox or enjoy a family-favourite DVD.

When dinner is served, you can enjoy a meal at the stylish dining table; or if you're having a quick meal-to-go, you can savour it at the convenient breakfast bar!

When night falls, ascend the stairs to a beautifully decorated, bright and airy double bedroom finished with sophisticated deep blues and boasting original features and dual-aspect windows, or the second comfortable double bedroom featuring cheerful yellows and Cornish seascape artwork.

The bathroom is also located on this floor and is served by a spacious bath with shower over, along with nautical finishes.

Outside, rustle up some grilled delights on the barbecue as the kids stretch their legs in the enclosed rear garden.

For a great meal and pint in a traditional pub, travel a short distance to the London Inn in St Neot, before continuing to Bodmin for the rest of your amenities and more.

Bandylegs Cottage is ideal for walkers with scenic rambles from the front doorstep across rugged moorland to scenic Bodmin Beacon and the beautiful Colliford Lake where you can take a dip on a hot summer day, followed by lunch and museum visit at the famous Jamaica Inn.

Close to home, explore the cycling trails at Cardinham Woods or head to the stunning Lanhydrock House & Gardens for an afternoon cream tea. The Eden Project, with its spectacular Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes, and attractions for all age groups, is a nearby must-visit; and for wine-lovers, don’t miss the chance for a tour of the award-winning Camel Valley Vineyard.

Continue on from there to Padstow, where you can while away an afternoon in the art shops and boutiques followed by dinner in one of the many excellent restaurants.

Those seeking coastal escapades will enjoy the wide tracts of sandy beach at Polzeath, Tintagel, Watergate Bay and Bude on Cornwall’s north coast and the charismatic fishing harbours at Polperro, Looe and Fowey on Cornwall’s south coast.
