"We had a lovely weeks stay here, we had a minor issue which was dealt with with the owner promptly and lovely to deal with."
The property is in a beautiful location with fab facilities nearby, my son loved the tennis courts and played daily. It is in fab distance to all local beaches and amenities such as sainsburys and asda 5 min drive. Our only negatives were the garden bench and area could be made nicer with a nice patio set and some nice plants in pots to make it really beautiful, and a few extra things in the kitchen we couldn't find no oven gloves or dustpan apart from that it was perfect

"This property is very dirty, needing professional cleaning and maintenance taken."
The facilities are limited and low grade. The carpets smell and garden furniture very old and tired.
This property is a much lower standard compared to the other cottages at Pendra Loweth.

"With just a few tweaks this could be better!"
. Awful rust stains in the bath. Mouldy and rusty barbecue. Carpets keeping in the dog smells and the whole place smelt of stale dogs. It could also be a full hoover that is keeping the dog smells every time the cleaner hoovers!?
Not very well equipped in the kitchen, only three teaspoons, no baking tray, only one frying pan. Not enough baking dishes. There wasn't even an oven glove!!! Also in the bath there was not an anti slip mat!
The sofas were incredibly dirty and quite frankly only fit for the skip. The throws looked like dog blankets!
The outside bench was in need of a rub down and repaint/varnish. Other houses I could see had lovely garden furniture and a parasol.
With a little care and love this place could be spot on. It felt very neglected!

"The accommodation is in need of updating."
The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels available. The washing machine worked well as did the cooker. We fixed the dishwasher as most of the wheels were off from the bottom rack.
We had an issue with the hot water running out and were told by the owner, when we called, that it’s Christmas Eve so he couldn’t do anything!! He rang back and said to hit the booster which we did. This gave us a bit extra but we hadn’t all showered before it ran out that morning.
The bathroom ceiling was mouldy with flaking paint, not all radiators worked and the extractor fan in the kitchen had seen better days.
All in all we will not return.
Thank you for your comments. All issues reported by guests are taken up immediately, whatever day of the year. If the hot water issue you raised had not been resolved by Christmas Eve, then of of course it would have been looked into. Indeed, you would have received a prompt response and help on Christmas Day, if that had been necessary. The slow draining sink you reported earlier in your stay was dealt with successfully by our handyman within hours. And last year, a guest was in touch on a Saturday afternoon about the shower having stopped working. A plumber was at the property at 10 am on Sunday to fit a new one, resulting in a glowing, 100% review from a delighted guest.

"The property was on a lovely holiday site with great facilities."
The properties furniture was comfortable and the kitchen facilities were good. However the property requires a deep clean, there were stains on some of the curtains & carpet and the carpet has an infestation of carpet moths requiring dealing with. The property is marketed as accommodating 6 people, we had 3 people staying there and twice the hot water went off for several hours after 2 of the occupants had a shower leaving the third person unable to have one. In several of the bedrooms the heaters are hanging out of the wall. The property requires maintenance and a deep clean to bring it up to a suitable standard.
Thank you for your comments. The moth problem has been resolved with the laying of new carpets throughout the property. Our housekeeper and handyman will continue to monitor the situation, but no signs of moth activity have been reported since the matter was addressed.

"The shower stopped working on the second day of the holiday (Saturday)."
We contacted the owner via Sykes and the owner had a maintenance worker there in a couple of hours. The shower was deemed beyond repair and the owner arranged for a plumber to attend at 10:00 am on the Sunday morning to replace the shower.
The plumber arrived bang on time and managed to install and commission the new shower in just 45 minutes.
Excellent service by all concerned.
Many thanks

"It wasn’t clean and was full of carpet moths which have eaten patches of the carpet and we are worried might have contaminated our belongings."
One of the towels was dirty and there were moths in the towels too. The bannisters and tops of things were sticky with coffee spills still on the coffee table. The cafe restaurant was great though and the bed was comfy. It was booked last minute to visit a terminally ill friend so it did serve its purpose as a place to rest our heads.

"In many ways this house was nice in that the beds are very comfortable, towels really good quality and facilities excellent but we had issues with regard to a cleaning which I would prefer not to print but I am happy to discuss."
Also there were maintenance issues in that the freezer desperately needed defrosting. We had to prize the door open and chip away at the ice to then close it again. Cooker and bathroom extractor fans do not work and the lighting tube to the mirror over the bathroom sink has been removed but not replaced. It's disappointing in that this 3 bed property would have been ideal for us when visiting our son who lives in the area enabling our grandsons to stay with us when they wish.
The gardens and restaurant are lovely so we would definately return to the site.

The patio furniture and barbecue were impressive. On arrival the cottage was very clean and there was a welcome pack.
There was a problem with the Lounge TV but the owner Alastair was very helpful and went the extra mile to source a new TV for us.
Would definitely stay in this cottage again.

"Very cold on first night as economy 7 heating was being used but not switched on until we arrived."
Fortunately there was heaters in the bedrooms.
There are 3 lights that need maintaining as they did not work.
The light half way up the stairs needed a new lamp but we did not feel comfortable trying to replace it due to its height.
The light above the sink needs a new fitting as the led lamp is integral and is a new unit one .
And the lamp in the extractor above the cooker didn't work.
This did not ruin the holiday at all but unless faults are recorded they will not be rectified.
I think the property is unoccupied now for a few days.

The only thing which let this place down was the kitchen,Surely its not too much to ask for a couple of tea towels and dish cloths ,not even salt and pepper,a six bed house with an eight inch frying pan,
Thank you for your feedback, which is very valuable. Tea towels should have been included, and we've addressed the reason why they weren't provided on this occasion. As for the other itms you mention, we'll ensure that they're available in future, and that there's a larger frying pan. We hope that their absence wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Best regards, Alastair.

Clean, tidy and comfortable; contains what you need for a break. Excellent base for visiting this part of Cornwall. "We loved the cottage and as we have family in the area our first choice would be to book the cottage again when visiting."
The only thing I marked it down on slightly was the listing, only because the gym wasn’t open, maybe there could be a note that it’s not open out of season. If you could maybe pass on to the owner that they could maybe check the bathroom locks. When using the downstairs toilet someone had to let you out from outside and the bathroom lock didn’t turn, maybe so children can’t lock themselves in, but if that is not the case just mentioning it.
Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted that you enjoyed the cottage, and appreciate you bringing the bathroom locks to our attention. We've arranged to have them replaced, and hope that them not functioning properly didn't inconvenience you or your fellow guests too much. Best regards, Alastair.
