It is a beautiful cottage which is well maintained, very clean and extremely well equipped. On our arrival, we were welcomed by our hosts who had prepared a cream tea for us and a roaring fire. What a treat and a brilliant way to begin our holiday! Our hosts were friendly and helpful! We would highly recommend this cottage if you are looking for a quiet place to sit and relax or for a place to use as a base for days out in both Devon and Cornwall.

  • "Lovely comfortable, homely and clean cottage with garden."

Quiet and peaceful. Really dark at night, we slept like logs. Everything you could need for a holiday. Really nice and helpful owners. There was the added treat of a cream tea on arrival and a doggy basket for the dog. It was great watching the many varieties of garden birds at the feeders. Many we don’t get in our garden. Bradford is a quiet little hamlet with very quiet lanes to walk a dog. It’s only a few miles to Holsworthy and about half an hour to Bude. Black Rock (the far side of Widemouth Bay) is a great wide beach for dogs with a dog friendly cafe. Our young collie, Peggy, didnt want to leave it. The historic Grt Torrington, not too far away, has an enormous common for countryside doggie walking. For dog owners. . The garden isn’t completely secure as it has a low fence at the top end. But would be fine for a small dog.

Abundant logs, kindling for the woodburner for the whole week, absolute peace and tranquillity. The cottage is down a private lane, so no traffic, or light pollution. Comfy beds, dishwasher and washing machine! Bude is a ten minute drive away, with fabulous beaches and a lovely canal! I will definitely be back! One of the best places we've ever stayed. • "‘Goslings’ is such a good find for us."

It’s away from the crowds but close enough, if you are organised, to a range of shops and supermarkets and it is about 30 minutes to Bude and its surrounding area. This was our second stay at Goslings and everything has to be of high quality for us to return to a holiday property! Sally and Charlie give a really friendly welcome. They are next door if you need them but equally are happy to leave you alone. For us the fact that Goslings is dog friendly is very important. Your 4 legged visitors have bowls, mats, shower hose, towels, poo bags and a bag of treats in their welcome pack and the 2 legged visitors are treated to a wonderful homemade Devon Cream Tea. With regards to Sykescottages.co.uk we have used their services quite a few times now and have been really happy with their communications, reminders etc. The Dozzies from Southampton give 10/10 for both ‘Goslings’ and ‘Sykes’!

The central location made visits easy and quick. On our first day we went to Hartland to see the abbey which was closed! So we went to the Quay where a gale was blowing huge waves onshore. Very exciting. So much so that we returned on Wednesday and did the waterfall walk in much calmer weather sunny and warm weather.

Looking out the back door towards the field we saw Horses, sheep, geese ducks, and in the enclosed garden a variety of birds. Most days a male pheasant came into the garden for a feed so we bought a small bag of bird seed for his breakfast. There is a circular walk from the cottage which is some footpath and some road but the roads are so quiet it is not a problem at all. Even though it rained most days it could not dampen our spirits in this lovely little spot and the dogs loved it too Would not hesitate to visit again.

  • "I booked this cottage very spontaneous and was so happy to have the special deal at the time!"

Thankyou, Goslings is set in a beautiful rural setting on the boarders of Devon and Cornwall! It was stunning as shown in the photos cosy homely clean and everything you need for a break away! I travelled with my teenage son, 2small dogs and elderly 80+ parents one with a wheelchair but still abled to walk around freely this was ideal as all on a ground level just 2 steps to the entrance! My father has early dementia so the surroundings are pretty safe as there is nowhere for him to roam especially at night as it is pitch black no street lighting. I would probably recommend a lantern or torch for late last min outside toileting for pets. WiFi is pretty good and good tv selection and fantastic selection of board games and cards!! On arrival the cream-tea and homemade scones were very welcoming! The rain had been poring heavily on our arrival. I never thought to pack my walking boots. So it was very wet and muddy down the lanes, so just be prepared for that matter! Thankfully cleared and rest of week was perfect. I didn’t really have the time before setting off or have much room space in car to bring basic sundries! As it was late the nearest food shop was Waitrose we were limited to time, it closed at 9 so a quick shop became a bit pricey really! Nevertheless the Nearest supermarket is bude 30 mins away, Lidl you can stock up there. Or if your really stuck for time and just need a few bits there is a BP garage about 5 mins away open until 11pm hope that helps. The cottage I have to say was very cosy great power shower a nice bath for a soak. Lovely welcome basket for dogs with towels and bowls doggy treats etc! The beds were extremely comfy we all slept like logs! Lol nice garden at the back to chill have a glass of wine and listen to the birds and be at touch with nature! Sally and Charlie owners live on the farm next door. Friendly and helpful. They were there if you needed them, but left you to your own devices Thank you once again for your hospitality and our stay at your cottage was a memorable one hope to see you again!

The cottage was well equipped for a family of 4 and could be visited at anytime of the year. Dog friendly with some treats thrown in and a nice walk down a lane past a Norman church. We were met with a warm welcome by Sally who had also just taken the homemade scones out of the oven to go with the Devon Cream Tea she had left for us to enjoy. We always take our Patterdale Terrier with us on holiday so it was lovely to see that she had a welcome basket of treats, towels, food mat and bowls. Goslings was very comfortable and very well equipped. We didn't make use of our own private garden, but we did make use of the log burner! Made us feel very cosy indeed. Goslings is now on our list of places to revisit and would definitely use again when visiting North Devon.
