  • "We had a wonderful stay in Devon House, the house itself is beautiful, clean and spacious with the added bonus of a fun games room and hot tub!"

Our kids were barely out of it. The beds were extremely comfortable too and the owner Vicky was so helpful, offering to take in our supermarket delivery and answering queries quickly. Bradworthy is a lovely little village with a pub (nice food and very friendly) and some useful shops. Location of the property is great too with lots of stuff to see and do within a drive of 20 mins or so. We'd definitely recommend it. My only suggestion would be more chopping boards might be useful as we only found one and didn't like to chop directly on the lovely kitchen surfaces!

  • "We ended up feeling like the luckiest people on earth to find fairly last minute availability at this beautiful house."

It’s situated in a picture perfect village with a great local pub serving really good food. The locals were so friendly, an evening sitting in the pub garden with a cold pint and a delicious meal was just heaven. There’s so much to do within half an hours drive of the house, a week really wasn’t long enough. We were 10 members of extended family and the house catered for us perfectly. Plenty of everything in the kitchen made cooking meals on a couple of occasions easy and stress free. The pub served us brilliantly the other nights and there is a good Chinese takeaway a short drive away. We had 4 teens with us and they practically commandeered the hot tub and pool table. The en-suites and huge main bathroom also meant that even with 10 people getting ready, there was never a queue for the shower. Vicky was the perfect host, so helpful and kind even offering to meet our grocery delivery on the first day if necessary. So to sum it up. Fabulous house in a fabulous setting with a fabulous host. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Walking distance to the pub and also the village was well stocked with various amenities. Really friendly owners and people in the village were very welcoming, Would thoroughly recommend.

  • "En-suite bathrooms extremely small and pokey, no shelves or hooks for wash bags or dressing gowns or towels."

Lack of curtains in dining room - room very noisy during general conversations. No sitting area apart from around the television. Rubbish disposal difficult to operate as coloured bags not all available - no black bag. Only 3 pans - not enough to cook meals. Hot tub was fantastic. Beds very comfortable. Extremely clean. Welcome scones, cream and jam was really nice and thoughtful.

Thank you for taking time to send us a review, I am sorry that you found the Bathrooms not to your liking, taking on board your comments we have added hooks in each of the bathrooms for towels etc, in all the bathrooms there are vanity units where items can be stored and used, these are instead of open shelves. We have added a few more pans to the kitchen and have added details on where and how rubbish needs to be deposited as you found this confusing. The Living area is a large open plan space and is decorated in a minimal way as this is the style of the house, this can I guess sometimes cause issues with noise with a large group all in one space. While we acknowledge your comments on the seating there is a large dining table with plenty of seating which can be moved away from the table area if required there is also a large seating area outside, although I appreciate this is not always accessible due to the weather. We have also provided chairs in the games room. We appreciate your comments about the Hot tub and are pleased overall you had a good stay with us. Property Owner
