  • "Thank you Sherrie and David, we had a wonderful holiday in the very comfortable Coach House."

Nothing was too much trouble. Mopsy Dog was sooo happy she could run round in the paddock and, enjoyed the enclosed garden. The cows up close were a challenge for a town dog. We visited lots of places in Devon and Cornwall but were glad to return to the peace and quiet in eve. We have already decided to come back next year.

The cottage was well equipped, clean and the scones to welcome us on arrival were much appreciated! The surroundings and the use of the owners immaculate garden was the perfect end to each of our days. Definitely will be back!

  • "This was our first holiday with a dog and we definitely landed on our feet with this cottage."

The cottage has everything you could need and it felt so homely and relaxing from the minute we opened the front door. The owners couldn’t have been nicer and were so helpful and friendly and kindly let us use their paddock for our dog (which he loved). The enclosed cottage garden is brilliant and secure for dogs and is beautifully maintained. Although we had some bad weather on our stay it was lovely to come back to such a lovely cottage.

  • "We selected to pay in full for our holiday on Sykes' webpage, all was well."

We received an email a few weeks later stating that if we did not pay £1 we would loose the holiday On contacting Sykes with questions regarding the payment of £1, Sykes replied we are aware of this it is a problem with the system! I also had some questions regarding our stay And the generic answer given was"It will be in the email" When receiving this email it was very vague, and generic the only useful, information was the contact details of the owner. On contacting the owner all out fears and concerns were put to rest. On arrival the cottage was outstanding and the owners went the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. To our surprise there was a new kitchen and the front door was a new colour! Please Sykes update your website, it does the cottage no favours.

  • "The Coach House was beautiful, clean, comfortable and in a gorgeous setting."

Gardens surrounding it were stunning. My sons dog loved running around in the enclosed paddock.. Lots of books and games provided, Justin case of a rainy day. Owners were delightful and left treats in the fridge. If you have a car with a low skirt , be careful of the private drive as the grass between the ruts is pretty high. I would totally recommend the cottage as it really is a special place to stay. You can walk around the gardens ( a gardeners dream ) and even use the various seats provided. Total peace and tranquillity. Easy to get to any beaches or attractions as very central. A big thank you to the hosts.

  • "The cottage is a home away from home and the hosts really made us feel welcome and comfortable."

It is the perfect spot to visit both the north and south coasts of Devon and Cornwall for day trips and we enjoyed returning to quiet of the cottage after busy days out. The cottage had everything we needed and the grounds are beautiful. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed being able able to run around the fenced off paddock and we enjoyed being able to switch off. Highly recommended.

  • "The cottage was lovely, small but had all the facilities we needed."

We didn’t have much contact with the owners but they did leave us wine, shortbread and eggs which was gratefully received. Overall we had a great time. A couple of things that are worth mentioning The vicarage is right on top of cottage which didn’t seem obvious from picture although if I had looked at the map it is apparent. There is a very large wall around the small garden that stops the very beautiful view. Road/ track to cottage quite bumpy. No WiFi but the 4G signal is amazing. We found the sofa less than comfortable which probably isn’t an issue in the summer. This is a super little bolt hole for a couple on a break and we had a lovely time.

Ideal for exploring both coasts of Devon and popping over the border to Cornwall as well, as close to the A30 (5mins approx) although you wouldn’t know from its lovely rural location. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They allow you to wander around and share their lovely gardens.

Thanks to the inclement weather on the first day it was extremely cold when we arrived (early), but once the heating had been on for a while it warmed up and was very comfortable. Our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating, supportive and sensible and we do hope to make a re-visit in the future to your special piece of Devon. Your garden is beautiful in daylight, especially the onset of the tree autumnal colours and the additional starry skies turn it into a wonder at night. A beautiful place to be. Thank you again - for a special, enjoyable and a calming stay. There is a fantastic farm shop with a restaurant close by for both treats and vegetables and well worth visiting. The Coach House is a great place to base yourself to see Devon for both inland and the coastal days out. Smashing holiday!

  • "The Coach House was reached down a single lane track with farmers fields either side."

The cottage with its own gated front garden was lovely and relaxing and the owners charming and very welcoming but not at all intrusive. A quiet, remote, peaceful spot. There isn't anything in or immediately near to Broadwoodwidger but a lake is a few miles away, a delightful village pub at Braton Clovelly and several pubs and a shop at nearby Lifton. Close to the A30 (Launceston is close by) it's easy to head to Bodmin, Dartmoor, south towards Plymouth and several National Trust properties or North-west to Bude on the North Cornish coast. An idyllic spot.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at this delightful cottage."

It is has the most glorious setting! The only sounds to be heard were the birds and sheep. We sat in the garden one night looking at the stars, there was no light pollution to spoil the view, magical. The cottage was warm and cosy, comfortable beds, great hot shower, a big basket of logs for the fire. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a great week. The welcome pack, fresh eggs, wine etc very welcome! Sherry and Dave were lovely hosts, if a little mad, who is out gardening from dawn till dusk? But their efforts were well worth it their garden is gorgeous and they were more than happy for us to share it. If you are looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind you will find no better place to recharge your batteries. But equally you will be well placed to visit many of the beauty spots Devon and Cornwall has to offer.
