  • "Baker Chambers is an ideal property in the centre of Camborne."

In spite of of its location, it is very quiet. It is well equipped, with instructions for all but the washing machine. We chose to leave the car in the parking area as there is no dedicated parking space and we did not want to return and find it full. The bus and railway stations are close by so getting around is very easy on public transport. We were unable to access the apartment on Sunday evening and had to contact Sykes emergency helpline. Fortunately, we had made a note of our booking and property references. and the phone number so were able get help, which arrived within the hour. In spite of that, we would not hesitate to recommend a holiday at Baker Chambers and would be happy to stay there again.

  • "I have nothing else to add about the property but wish to say of my disappointment regarding our access."

I received a telephone call from Mandy of Cornish Cottages regarding the password numbers for gaining access to the apartment on the morning of Friday 5 and asked for her to send a email which she did. However on arrival whilst I gained access through the main entrance door I failed to gain access into Baker Chambers dispite trying several times. I rang Mandy who wasn't available but explained the situation and was promised a call back. After waiting 20 minutes I rang Cornish Cottages again, Mandy not available, but again was promised a call back. Eventually somebody called to explain that the passcode given on the email for the appartment door was incorrect and told the correct numbers, consequently I at long last gained entry. After a long journey this was the last thing we wanted as quite tired and just wanted a cup of tea. Could you please let Cornish Cottages, who are I presume a subsidery of yours, know of the problem I encountered and ensure it doesn't happen again.

We are really sorry to hear that you had an issue gaining access and with the communication from Cornish Cottages; please rest assured this was passed on to our maintenance team and they have looked in to this. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was great."

Gaining entrance and operating the water heating system proofed challenging. As for the neighbouring flat Klysa I assume housing refugees, the constant domestic violence and abuse and the Sound of breaking furniture as well as random vehicles stopping outside and collecting something through the window leaves this B&B a questionably unsafe accommodation.

Thank you very much for your comments, we're glad to know that you thought Baker Chambers was great but sorry to hear you may have been disturbed by the residents staying in the neighbouring apartment.  We do rather feel you may have unfairly jumped to conclusions though and for the benefit of other future visitors would like to clarify that at the time of your stay the resident next door (who has since moved on) was a person requiring care and accordingly had professional carers supporting them.  It's possible you may have heard something relating to this and for that we are sorry, however there was most certainly not any report of, nor evidence of any domestic violence and abuse as you intimate.  We hope this better explains the situation for other guests and we're confident the good feedback received since your stay better demonstrates what can be expected with us.  We do hope that overall you enjoyed your time in Cornwall and we hope you have good memories of the holiday. • "Baker Chambers was great."

The apartment is in an ideal location to explore Cornwall. We used trains and buses throughout the stay. On arrival the welcome pack provided was a lovely gesture. The facilities were exactly as described. We found the apartment very comfortable and extremely clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep every evening. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will try to return when we can. The only annoying aspect of the visit was to do with the entry codes into the building. On booking we got the codes in an email but a week before the visit another email quoted slightly altered entry codes. I messaged Sykes Cottages and they confirmed we should us the new codes, however on arrival it was evident the original ones needed to be used to enter the building and the apartment. A little annoying but this did not detract from our stay. Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Baker Chambers and we hope to see you again in the future. We will look in to what may have happened with the entry codes. Property Owner

  • "Lovely little flat."

Everything you needed whilst away. The little gifts were much welcomed too. Only slight, annoyance, I'd say is, there is parking behind the apartments, but while we was there, there was a couple of days in which there was work going on in the carpark. Which again wasn't a problem as they did house the cars round the corner, but no one actually told us the car park would be shut off from the holiday lettings business, it was one of the workmen doing the car park that told us the day before, but again it wasn't much of an issue. Would definitely stay again as the apartment was great, perfect location to get around cornwall, and plenty of shops etc near by!

  • "Can't really fault the apartment in any aspect, it was excellent."

Parking, however, is a different matter. We were there for a week and the designated area at the back of the property was always full irrespective of what time we tried to park. (Most often same cars in same spaces that clearly hadn't moved) So, there are either unauthorised people taking up the spaces or there simply aren't enough spaces to cater for the properties. Problem with this being that most of Camborne is either double yellows or half hour max stay between 9am & 6pm so the only alternative is to find a side street with unrestricted parkin, often a 5 or 10 minute walk away. For me this needs to be made clear in the property advertising. Otherwise a really enjoyable stay

Tidy and comfy rooms, having the key fob also made parking easy. Only issue we had was the bed wasent set up as twins as requested, so had to buy a duvet and arrange sleeping arrangements as wasent appropriate for an older teenager boy/mum.

The quality of furnishings and equipment provided made it feel home from home. The decor and modern feel were great. The bathroom was good with a lovely shower. Easy access through a keyless entry was stress free and there was a close proximity to shops and restaurants with a handy guide to help. The hamper on arrival just made an extra nice touch to welcome guests. Thoroughly recommended.

You have a private parking located at the back of the building. Everything you need from a rental was provided… it was like a home from a home ;) they even provide mini unlimited shampoo, body wash and conditioner and you also get home slippers, towels and unlimited toilet rolls they even went the extra mile and left us few goodies in the room, face masks and lots of snacks! thank you for having us and hopefully see you next year.

  • "The overall cleanliness of the property was bad."

There was no trays when it came to cooking, the parking was OK but there's a huge stone that sticks out so it damaged my fuel tank trim on my car, inconsiderate neighbours during our stay. Was told to mention all this when on holiday which you shouldn't have to do so I waited until I returned and was offered a terrible compensation for all of the problems we encountered during our stay.

Thank you very much for choosing us to stay with and for the time and effort taken to leave a review. As we are quite a new holiday facility we love to hear feedback both good and bad as we like to always keep pushing to do better and with out feed back from guests like your self this wouldn't be possible. We would only have asked you to contact us because we would of loved to have made your holiday experience the best we can. We only want to have a positive impact on our guests stay and would have loved to have the opportunity to resolve any issues you may felt negatively effected your stay while you were here. We have made small changes to ensure guests are happy with their stay. With this being said, we think you would be extremely happy with the minor changes we have made and hope that you come back soon to experience this. We wish you all the best for future holidays.
