    "Very clean and well equipped."

Quiet and the onsite parking is a bonus. To get to and from St Ives it’s so easy to catch the train from the station just down the hill and runs every half hour or so. We only used our car for day trips to such lovely places as Kyance Cove, St Michael’s Mount, etc. The local Tesco store which is only a 25 minute walk away is great for all essentials and again no need to use the car. If we ever returned to this area of Cornwall Far Cliffs would be our first choice of accommodation.

"This is our second stay at Far Cliffs and have had another lovely week."

Found there is an issue with the main bedroom lights, they don't work we saw from a previous review that it is an issue you are aware of, we did leave a note for the housekeeper. Two things which would make this apartment 10 out of 10 would be coat hooks or a coat stand, there is no where to hang outerwear, there were 4 of us in the apartment and it rained Saturday evening, we had no where to hang our wet coats and had to hang them on the dining chairs to dry. Also a full length mirror, there are plenty of mirrors in the apartment but not a full length one, had no way other than to stand on the bed in the second bedroom to check our outfits before going out.

"A great location and serves as a great base for exploring Cornwall or just staying local to Carbis Bay or St Ives."

Apartment exactly as described and some nice little extra touches such as water, milk, biscuits etc on arrival. View across the bay is incredible. Access instructions easy to follow and the parking is a god send. Small thing for owner to be aware of would be the bedroom lights would trip out regularly but other than that all perfect. We will be back.

"Spent a week at Far Cliffs with my sister."

The apartment was beautiful and the first thing my sister said when we entered was “wow!” We had a bedroom and bathroom each which was great as this meant no sharing. Being situated on the end of the apartments block meant we had total privacy and as we had good weather we managed to sit out on the balcony every day to enjoy those magnificent views. As it was early April the heating was set to come on early morning and evening which was a bonus as it could get quite chilly at those times. We went out every day and the train station down the road was handy for St Ives. Be aware though that the road is quite steep down to the station. As pensioners my sister and I struggled to get back up the hill. We were sad to leave and are definitely thinking of going back to our happy place.

"Excellent apartment, clean, well equipped and comfortable."

For us it was missing a full length mirror and coat hooks, had to hang coats in the bathroom. Have already looked at booking again.

"This is a beautiful apartment with every comfort, but one or two minor suggestions for the benefit of other users, should be considered."

    1) A small rack placed inside the en-suite shower for holding user items: gel, spounge, flannel, soap etc would be helpful. 2) A dish rack on the kitchen sink for holding tea cups, side plates, etc after light washing and which do not need, or justify the use of the dishwasher.

"Beautiful property and really great location."

One minor thing you may wish to think of - the internal doors slam automatically and make a loud noise. Some door frame liners/softeners may help with this.

    "This apartment was perfect."

Spotlessly clean, very well equipped, high quality furnishings and fittings with a lovely view. The freshness of the bed linen was very notable and really appreciated. The items left in the fridge were perfect. The apartment was warm and welcoming with great easy access from the car park. I would consider myself to be extremely fussy with holiday accommodation and I found it hard to fault this apartment. I have stayed at the Sands a number of times and it was great to see the quality of this apartment had not faltered.

"Two weeks after getting back , the smile is still there !"

Great apartment in a perfect position, easy 4 minute walk to the railway station to get in and out of the still wonderful St Ives , train always on time and regular with free parking on site of the apartments what more can you ask for . I/we am a fussy old bugger when it comes to where I/we stay and the quality , cleanliness and lay out of the place , I cannot give Far Cliffs a better review than to say , I /we would love to return in the future to Far cliffs time and again , It was peaceful , stunning views over Carbis Bay and St Ives Harbour/Island . The lounge / Kitchen was of a great standard , the bathrooms idea and both bedrooms very comfortable indeed , one is a little smaller than the other , there was nothing that did not work , everything was very comfortable and any very small defects where so small they would not matter , you really would be picky to point those out , for me a high review would be 9 out of 10 , really don't do 10s , Far cliffs would be 9.6 in my view . I should add this review is from a late 50s and late 40s lady , no children in our party

  • St Ives 2 miles
  • Hayle 3.5 miles
  • Penzance 8.5 miles

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP (paddle board) and get out on the water instead? Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far away and is home to activities for all the family, including golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoor and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
