  • "Key fob didn't work so could not get car through gate, some one had to let us in."

We struggled with key fob most day's, even when they replaced batteries. Plug in shower room wash basin didn't work. Lift didn't work, and reading other feed back it has not worked for many months. Blinds in twin room didn't work. It was not possible to use wardrobe in twin room as it was full of stuff. We did contact the house keeper on Sunday about fob and sink plug and she did get them fixed on Monday. For the price the other point listed should not have been issues, and they need addressing. The welcome pack was very nice touch, mixed goodies. The apartment was very nice and comfortable and good location. We enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear you had trouble with the key fob during your stay. Regarding the lift we do apologies for this, unfortunately we were not made aware of this ourselves however the management company is now dealing with this, and they are hoping to get the lift fixed as soon as possible. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Viridian and enjoyed the welcome pack, we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "This was our second time at this property."

It is in a great location and the facilities are good. We were very disappointed by the cleanliness on this occasion. I would doubt very much that any vacuuming had taken place before our arrival. It was very dusty.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased that you loved the property and location. We are saddened to hear that you found the cleanliness not up to standard, this has been passed on to the housekeeper to ensure it does not occur again. We would always like the opportunity to rectify any points so if you have anything during your stay please contact the office on 01736 630015, and one of the local team will be able to assist you straight away. We hope to get the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Not as clean as precious stays with Carbis Bay Holidays."

Dusty under furniture, hair in drawers and some cutlery had dishwashers marks. The TV’s in the bedroom didn’t have all the channels, only able to watch BBC, kept saying no signal. TV in living room didn’t have Sky box available l, again no signal. Living room speaker remote not working. Main bathroom door handle not working from the inside, so you got locked in the bathroom. Small details make the difference given the increase in price after the G7 conference stayed in Carbis. Still a lovely apartment with great views and easy access to the beach.

Thank you for your feedback. We love the views from here too and are pleased to hear you had easy access to the beach. We are sorry you experienced some issues during your stay. We have forwarded your comments to our property management team. We are always available during your stay, should you have any queries or maintenance issues. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Absolutely wonderful apartment, everything you need and very comfortable. The only small thing a few areas not clean like bottom of the lamp in living room had dust and dead tiny flies on. On the whole very clean but just a few hidden places hadn’t been done. Wonderful holiday thank you.

Dear Ms Scurr, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We will pass on your feedback to the housekeeper and get your point actioned. We sincerely hope we can invite you back from a third stay in the near future. Kind Regards, Owner Relations, Carbis Bay Holidays Property Owner

I would just like to point out about cleaning, it was nowhere up to the normal standard we expect from carbis bay holidays, we have stayed in many apartments in the past and all have been great , this one was not I happened to drop something in the lounge bent down to pick it up and looked under the tv cabinet it had not been cleaned there was a grape , children’s Lego and it was full of dust , also in bedroom 2 there was still children’s crayons and colouring paper on the floor to , It didn’t look like there had been a hoover put round as there was dust all on the skirting in the lounge , we were very disappointed as you have changed the time we can get in the apartment and an earlier check out so that it can have extra cleaning time , well I don’t think there had been much cleaning at all never mind extra , we have already booked to stay in a different apartment next year at the same time of year I do hope this apartment golden heights does not let us down Yours Dawn gregory

Dear Mrs Gregory, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. Please be assured that we have passed on the point you have raised to the housekeeper of the property. We look forward to inviting you back next November. Kind Regards, Owner Relations, Carbis Bay Holidays. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous apartment."

Waking up to the view every morning was the highlight. All the furnishings were lovely. Only thing I would change would be check in and check out times as I feel they are a bit extreme.

Dear Joan, Thank you for your lovely Feedback following your stay at Viridian. The views over the bay are wonderful, aren’t they. The check-in and check-out times were set to facilitate the Housekeeping teams sufficient time to undertake the additional tasks necessary due to the pandemic but we are monitoring this and hope to be able to amend them soon. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards, Carbis Bay Holidays Property Owner

Beautiful apartment with amazing views in a great location. Few minutes walk to beautiful Carbis Bay beach and lovely walk along coastal path to St Ives. Also right next to coastal train to St Ives which was very handy. Have looked to book next year but such a shame that price has increased so dramatically by over 70% so won’t be staying again at that price unfortunately.

  • "We have stayed at The Viridian THREE times."

2010, 2020, 2021 - each time the accommodation has been revamped and improved to enhance the holiday experience. The apartment has all the mod cons that you could ask for to make your stay stress free and relaxing. I would however like to make a note to recommend the housekeeping service run by Kerry Hackett. I had a few minor issues during the stay in particular the washing machine locked and would not release the clothing. Kerry was able to contact the relevant people and local maintenance team were sent over the next day to resolve the situation (no fuss, just sorted). It was a pleasure staying at The Viridian and myself and my family look forward to coming back again. Many Thanks Dan

Our apartment, Viridian was superb in every way and we couldn’t have hoped for better. The view, comfort, the showers (wow), cleanliness and all a stone’s throw from a beautiful beach. The sunrise as you wake up was stunning! Easy allocated parking and a train station behind the car park to head into St Ives or St Erth in just a few minutes. Carbis Bay Holidays were very helpful and efficient. We came a day late and Kerry was brilliant with all we needed to know with very quick responses. I would and have already recommended Carbis Bay and Viridian to all. Thank you. "

The standards of cleanliness, accommodation and administration were excellent. We saw lots of seals, even close to the shore at Carbis Bay. • ""We had a great holiday staying in Viridian."

The apartment was perfectly laid out and beautifully clean. Everything we could have need was provided, even bucket and spade! The location was fabulous and we used the little train into St Ives which our three year old little girl loved. We had a great dinner out at the Alba restaurant next to the lifeboat house - pre dinner cocktails, superb seafood and the most mouth watering ice cream with liqueur coffees followed by a lovely wander around the old streets and then the last train back to Carbis Bay at 10.30pm. It was great to have a Tesco on hand for the extra clotted cream and bottles of Proper Job (a St Austell Brewery ale that has to be sampled). Ocean Sports on the beach at Carbis Bay were brilliant for Kayaking - when they weren't busy, they let us take the kayaks out for more than the allotted hour which only cost £7.50. They also gave us their phone number and said if they weren't on the beach then we could call and they would come down. What service! Our little girl went to Hands In Art at the Tate which was for 0 - 5 year olds, free of charge, and they could paint to their hearts' content. We have two masterpieces to frame - fantastic. " G. • ""This was our first visit to Cornwall and will definitely not be our last."

When we walked into the apartment the amazing view took our breath away, stunning!. The Viridian is beautiful and very well equipped. We visited the Porthminster Beach Café the food there is gorgeous, and what a stunning view. We took in quite a few of Cornwalls wonderful sights, The Eden Project – this is somewhere I have always wanted to visit and it didn’t disappoint. This is a place for all ages to visit. Lands End is quite spectacular as is Lizard Point both are something not to be missed on a visit. But my personal favorite was St. Michaels Mount. What a wonderful place, the gardens are stunning, so tropical. We went across by boat because the tide was in, but later in the day we saw people wading across to the mount on the causeway when the tide was turning. This is a magical place a jewel in Cornwall’s crown. " P. Metcalfe

  • ""We certainly did enjoy our holiday in Viridian, the accommodation well exceeded expectations."

It was very clean and comfortable and in a fabulous location. We had everything we needed. As this was our first trip we went to a few different places and enjoyed seeing Lizard Point and Land’s End. Mousehole and St Mawes were nice little places but we didn’t think much to the larger places like Newquay and Falmouth. St Ives is beautiful and would spend more time there if we went again. Parking isn’t easy so may use the train from just behind the apartment another time. As for restaurants, we had a couple of nice meals at the Watermill in Lalent and the fish and chips were good from Becks near the apartment." L. & H. Morgan

  • ""We had a truly wonderful holiday, when we entered the apartment we were not disappointed."

The little touches in the kitchen and in the bathroom made the stay quite luxurious. The weather was good, only one day of rain, but we were happy to sit in and read marvelling at the views. We enjoyed fish and chips at Becks, a good meal at La Cassita, The Loft at St Ives though this was a little more expensive. The Badger was excellent, the crab salad wonderful! The big advantage is that it serves food all day so after a long walk you can drop in and have an early meal before heading back to the apartment. We enjoyed walking into St Ives and walking back! Walks along the coast line and beaches. The walk to Godrevie was supberb. We also walked to Pothkidney Sands, the track going was rather muddy so sturdy shoes were need. We climbered up some rocks from the beach on the way back which avoided the muddy pathway. We visisted St Michael's Mount, Mousehole and Helegan. Being a garden lover I found Helegan fascinating." The apartment was everything we could have hoped for and more - absolutely stunning, and what a location!! I would have no hesitation in recommending the property to everybody I know. To summarise - loved it!! The walk to St Ives was lovely and not too demanding. Favourite restaurant was the Seafood Cafe in St Ives, plus we spent a lot of time in The Sloop! The apartment is of an excellent standard and the views are stunning. We spent hours just sitting on the decking and watching the comings and goings on the beach and out at sea - most relaxing. We ate out at The Sea Food Cafe in St Ives which was very pleasant, but the best meal we had was at The Porthminster Cafe on the beach - expensive, but worth it for the experience. My 14 year old and his dad had a fantastic time trying out segways for the first time at Cornish Segways up at Newquay. The local seals were in the bay and the beach was perfect for our 6 year old son so it really is an ideal location for a family holiday. We paid a visit to St Michaels Mount and Mousehole to see the Christmas lights, both of which are within easy driving distance as are most things south of St. Ives. We took the train into St. Ives, which took less than 5 minutes, and was so much easier than trying to park, and we found a lovely cafe tucked away on a Porthgwidden beach for afternoon tea. We also ventured as far as Padstow which is always worth a visit. Our favourite place, however, has to be “Fifteen” Jamie Oliver’s restaurant in Watergate Bay. It’s about 45 minutes drive from Carbis Bay but definitely worth the trip, We love the area and the beach life style and would definitely look to go back to Carbis Bay again in the future." A. West

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
