  • "Beautiful view!"

    Mesmerising. Good location for train station. St Ives is only 1 stop away. Beach is so close, just need good lungs to get back up the hill! Lots of walks nearby. Tesco is 5 mins drive away. Flat is very clean. Appreciate the extras - blankets, foldable chairs, good selection of oven dishes, crockery etc Minor maintenance issues - no glass recycling bin during our stay. It was awol. The ensuite extractor fan lets in the winds. As a result, the bathroom is constantly cold. The flapping vents during high winds affected sleep. Whilst we were there, there was scaffolding outside back of the property & in front of ensuite bedroom. It didn’t bother us as there were no works being done during our stay to affect us. Personal list of ‘Nice to have’: Bigger knife to deal with chunky meat & veg. Better veg peeler. New non stick frying pan. This one is old and needs too much oil to be non stick. 2 sets of keys so that guests can do their own itinerary. Firmer bed pillows. However, we would return again. It’s peaceful and relaxing. Thank you!

  • "Had a lovely and really enjoyable stay."

    Had everything there.sat out in the garden enjoyable Will be back again sometime. Just a couple of issues miner ones. Towels have some bigger ones .bath towel ones. Heating was a slight issue but got by with it.

  • "We have stayed at 4 Pentowan Court before and love it."

    We had lovely weather for the whole week, but even if it had been inclement we could survive solely on the amazing view from our first floor apartment windows. It is quiet and sheltered and close enough to St Ives to walk to if you wanted to. We didn’t use the car the whole time we were there. Just the train (yes, there is an unobtrusive and quaint train line!) a couple of times. Cornish pasties (which always taste better in Cornwall), quiet sandy beaches, good swimming (with seals!) and beautiful seascapes. What more could one ask for. You may not want to put this in the review, but I just wanted to give a big mention to Louise our housekeeper who was a star and helped us start our car which had a flat battery. Thank-you Louise!   • "Excellent views outside the large bay windows."

    Can see Carbis Bay beach to the left with its blue / turquoise colour and the ocean in front of the garden. Would have given this 5 stars and very happy faces if it wasn't for work being done on the property. No communication from the owner that it was going to happen during our stay (3rd day in out of 7 days), was supposed to be a relaxing holiday but being woken up @8am every morning is not so relaxing.

    We enjoyed sitting in the garden overlooking the view across to St Ives. The apartment is in a very quiet location with easy access to the train station which we used everyday. We will definitely return to Pentowan.

  • "Fabulous property."

    The views are magnificent and Carbis bay beach is stunning. Just be warned it’s a steep walk down and back up to the beach but the train can take you in 5 mins to the more accessible Porthminster beach in St ives. Equally stunning. Just a few steps there!

  • "We had a great week in this property."

    The views across Carbis Bay, with St Ives beyond and to Godrevy lighthouse are amazing! The property is very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, a good sized lounge area and two great bedrooms and bathrooms. Given its fantastic location, with amazing, uninterrupted, views it does get hit by the weather (we stayed during storm ciaran!) which probably explains some small damp patches around the property. The shared porch area at the front of the property is fairly ’tired’, but once inside things are much better. (You shouldn’t be put you off staying as these are only minor observations on how this great property could be even better)!

The property

Boasting a superb location with breath-taking views to Carbis Bay beyond, and within easy reach of Carbis Bay train station, 4 Pentowan Court offers guests spacious accommodation in the perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable family holiday.

Entering the apartment and visitors are greeted by a hugely impressive open-plan living and dining space with a good-sized kitchen leading off.

The living area is all about the sea views with large picture windows designed to maximise the panoramic vistas and this is somewhere you can imagine gathering together to socialise, catch up on each other’s holiday news and soak up those sublime views.

Step into the fully fitted kitchen where you will find all that is required to be able to produce healthy meals for the whole family.

Take a seat at the breakfast bar, pour yourself a drink and keep the chef company and then when it is time to serve up, the dining table is all set up ready for you to look forward to long, leisurely meals together.

Come bedtime, guests can choose from the master suite which has a king-sized bed with a Vi Spring mattress, plenty of storage and an en-suite shower room, or the elegant twin bedroom.

A family bathroom complete with bath and shower over finishes the interior accommodation, with an extensive shared garden providing all the outside space that is needed together with stunning views to the sea and beyond and is the perfect setting for the whole family to enjoy time eating, drinking and playing alfresco.

If you can tear yourself away from 4 Pentown Court then you will find yourself on the doorstep of the gorgeous Carbis Bay which is known for its white, sandy beach and is the perfect spot for a day at the beach so make sure to pack a picnic, or if you fancy something a bit more adrenaline-fuelled then take your pick of watersports which are extremely popular in the area.

You can walk down the South West Coastal Path from the communal garden gate to St Ives or Lelant, stopping at Hawkes Point to take in the seaside scenery or take a stroll into Carbis Bay where you can stock up on any kitchen essentials, or treat yourself to some traditional fish and chips?

Visit nearby St Ives while you are here which is great for a day out with loads of independent shops, boutiques, galleries (including Tate St Ives) and eateries to explore.

St Ives is around a 30 minute walk away, along the scenic coast path.

The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary.

The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.

St Ives 2 miles ; Hayle 3.5 miles ; Penzance 8.5 miles.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. Parking
This property offers guests one parking space in the developments parking bays. These are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please note, visitors should park on Headland Road or at the station car park.

Please note, there is currently scaffolding on the front of the Pentowan Court building, and scaffolding poles are in place in front of the master bedroom window. The hallway and living room windows remain unaffected. This scaffolding is expected to remain in place until the end of April 2026, but may be delayed due to the weather.
