  • "Brilliant short term stay with a good location for bird watching!"

Peaceful and quiet. The sauna and jacuuzi were a lovely touch, the gym was adequate but the bike machine seemed to only be big enough to sit one butt cheek on (and I'm pretty slim) rendering it unusable. Overall a very good stay.

  • "Such a lovely trip, great accommodation and facilities."

Would definitely recommend and come back again! Only small things to note is the plug in the bath doesn’t seem to work too well, so had to twist it instead of pushing. No chopping board supplied & led lights in cinema not working. Otherwise an amazing place!

  • "The outside area perfect."

However I booked this expecting a hot tub. It was only after booking that I realised it was an outside bath. The lodge is lovely, very spacious. We did feel that a coffee table would have been nice. Also a dressing table would have been very useful. We had a lovely break and really enjoyed the lodge, the cinema room was fantastic. We just felt that a few little touches could have made it feel a little more luxurious.

Thank you for your feedback. Our description makes it clear the lodge has an outdoor spa bath. We are pleased you enjoyed time with us, hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Other than a couple of things that needed sorting which was dealt with the property owner and manager, who were very quick with replies and very helpful."

The overall stay was lovely, everything we needed for a relaxing time away. The cinema room was our favourite bit of the lodge along with the jacuzzi bath outside. We would definitely come back and recommend

  • "The pictures really don't do this place justice."

It is stunning. We had such a lovely stay, we wished we could have stayed longer. We were in the area for a wedding and it was the perfect base. It's fully equipped with everything you need and we absolutely loved the cinema room. The bed was super comfy, everywhere was clean and tidy and we really appreciated the little touches like the toiletries in the bathroom and milk in thd fridge. My only negative point is the lack of hot tub which the lodge is clearly advertised as having. I had booked the lodge purely on the basis of the hottub as that was something we were specifically looking for. The bath and outside space is lovely but it's not a hot tub. We didn't use it as obviously with a bath you have to run the water, it doesn't stay heated and is just not the same. That being said we would still book again as the lodge itself, location and other facilities are amazing! Thank you for a great stay.

  • "The holiday cabin met all expectations and the facilities were beyond excellent."

We were welcomed with a little box of basics with it being self catering, and a carton of milk in the fridge. After a long day walking the spa bath was a nice touch and felt very private. If I had to be picky, I would say the dressing gowns were worn & the coat hangers were flimsy. There was a faint sewage smell coming from the bathroom, which I suspect was coming from the effluent tank beneath, due to the nature of the accommodation, but we just kept the door shut & in noway did this ruin the holiday. The property was in such a great location and only an hour away at the most from most tourist attractions. The beds were very comfy to the point I struggled getting up on a morning. Overall, I would definitely stay here again & it is rare to find somewhere with such a wide range of facilities.

  • "Had a lovely time, great lodge to stay in."

The only comment i'd say is on booking we were requesting a hot tub and this is actually a spa bath, which u have to refill yourself. So you havn't got the convience of jumping straight in, everything else is top notch though.

Thank you for your feedback. The description does state there is a outdoor spa bath and the photos show this. We are please you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Property Owner

    .. NOT HAPPY

Thank you for you feedback. The lodge has a Jacuzzi spa bath, which operates as any normal bath does. Sorry to hear you experience problems using it. Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately, our request of Prosecco and chocolates on arrival (pre paid) was not met due to the Old Mill being shut."

We were a little disappointed as this was paid for well in advance and this was our Minimoon staycation. The team did sort this the following day after I sent an email. The lodge is lovely but has an awful smell from each of the sinks. Hopefully this can be sorted. We were also woken up by the heating turning on at 2am every morning. For the reason of the smell and being woken up at 2am from the heating we wouldn’t recommend this lodge and we also came home a day early. Hopefully all of the above can be taken on board and solved. We didn’t feel there was a contact number to ring about the smell from the sinks. On the other hand - comfortable bed and good facilities in the lodge.

Facilities at the lodge were excellent, location wise was brilliant if you plan on doing plenty of travelling around Cornwall. The gym, sauna and hot tub all added a little extra to our holiday, would highly recommend.

  • "I really enjoyed this holiday."

Cornwall is a beautiful place. The location was good, not to far from local beaches, shops however you definitely need a car to get around comfortably. I would definitely come back and stay again! I 100% recommend this lodge. Very peaceful and quite! It was very comfortable and had great features such as the cinema room. The fridge was very small compared to the rest of storage space in the kitchen, once I had my pizzas in the fridge I couldn’t fit much else in! Although, it was handy to have the wine cooler as part of the kitchen island! I think the lodge would benefit from a larger fridge and freezers! The toilet is a bit small! Not much space for you elbows to sit comfortably next to you when using it! The shower was always powerful and warm. I do keep active so having a indoor gym was an advantage for me, however the weights are very light so If I had known, I would of brought my own with me and the rowing machine/spin bike was very basic that I didn’t gain anything from using it. It would be great to have a Yoga mat as foam flooring kept lifting away! Small finishing touches such as removing the price labels off the outdoor plants and outside furniture where I can fit my legs under the table would make me feel more relaxed! Otherwise I throughly enjoyed my time here. I would come back and I do recommend this lovely lodge! Thank you for having us.

  • "Our stay at 24 Meadows Retreat, Dobwalls was incredible."

We were the second people to stay at this brand new lodge! We were really impressed with how clean and well equipped it was. My husband and I love cooking and the kitchen had all the utensils and equipment you would need to prepare a good meal. It was super comfortable. The sofas were amazing and the jacuzzi was extremely relaxing and romantic. We also thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, the gym and the cinema room. One perfect sized lodge for two - complete with everything you could ever need for a luxurious and fun trip to Cornwall. After all the coastal walks we did it was wonderful coming back to this little haven of comfort, luxury and rest. Thank you Sykes and the team.
