  • "Amazing stay 2nd year in a row and we'll be booking again for next year."

The place is perfect and situated in the perfect place for you to go anywhere you want too, from Looe which is 15 minutes away a beautiful town, with great beach, shops, to St Ives 1 hour away. The holiday village is beautiful, private and the hot tub just makes it perfect. The lodge is clean, comes with everything you need, literally all you need is your clothes, the lodge is very spacious, clean and modern. Views are amazing

  • "We had a lovely week in this lodge, very spacious and well laid out, great base for the family to explore the local area, and there is lots to do in local area."

The site itself is very quiet which is nice! and this particular lodge has quite a lot of space outside in comparison with others on site which was great for the kids. We really enjoyed the hot tub and just relaxing outside in this picturesque area of the country. The only negatives we experienced was the master bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable and we both had a bad back after sleeping on it, think this was reported on a recent review also? Only 4 forks for our family of 5 only- minor but easily rectified. The evening we arrived someone had turned the boiler switch off in cupboard which we was unaware of so took a while to get heating on and warm, maybe a better instruction to eliminate this for other guests? Overall my family of 5 really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend! with a few minor improvements could be fantastic. Thanks for letting us stay at your lovely lodge.

We are glad you had a lovely stay with us were able to explore the local area and thank you for your recommendation. We will ensure all the points raised are resolved and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful surroundings."

Relaxing and peaceful with nature surrounding you. The family enjoyed the hot tub after busy days out. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The property was very clean. The only issue we had was with the main bedroom bed. The mattress was so bad that my husband and I had bad backs. We stayed for a week and could not wait to get back to our bed. It was a shame because everything else was perfect.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay overall, I will be visiting the property to review the mattress. We agree the surroundings are a wonderful place to relax. Property Owner

We think we left a birthday card with a £20 voucher inside on the table and I tried to call multiple times and tried to email and got no where to see if it had been found so not the best customer service. Hot tub was amazing, the lodge in general was very clean and tidy! We did see a couple of mice running in and out of under the lodge, but this didn’t really bother us.

  • "Long awaited family holiday."

We all enjoyed the space around the lodge and the privacy to use the hot tub without being overlooked. The lodge was everything we hoped for and provided an ideal central location for exploring Cornwall.

  • "This holiday home is amazing, we were worried about past remarks, but ignore them."

The place was immaculate, all the beds were comfy, the hot tub was perfect, all massage pumps work, you simply just turn the air vent left to open the force of the jets and right to close them. The home offers amazing views of the area, and this holiday home is secluded from the neighbours. You get a lovely welcome pack, and have every utensil, pots and pans to cook anything you want. We can't wait to book again for next year.

  • "We had a lovely holiday and 9 Horizon View was a great base for us."

Location-wise, it was spot on and allowed us to visit the local area with ease. The accommodation itself was clean and nicely finished. The views from the back garden were incredible. However, there were a couple of disappointments. Two of the mattresses seemed rather well used let’s say. My 10yr old daughter couldn’t sleep on her bed by the 3rd night because she could feel the springs pushing through. Thankfully there was a spare bed (we are a family of 5) so she moved into another room. But not ideal. The master bed was lumpy too. The main disappointment, though, was the hot tub. As per several reviews we’ve read, the jets were intermittent, the water drained out regularly which caused the pumps to stop operating altogether at times, and all we were told was to just fill it up ourselves with a hosepipe, which when you want a quick dip after a long day out was a bit of a pain. The hot tub issues seem to have been ongoing since around 2019 according to feedback... perhaps it’s time to finally repair or replace the tub?! It’s always easier to describe and consequently write more about the things that weren’t quite right, however. So I must end this review by saying that we were overall very happy with our stay and would/have already recommended to our friends. We had a lovely, much needed holiday after a long period of being stuck at home, as most people have been for the past 18months. And we would certainly visit again. Thanks...

  • "Beautiful location and property was comfortable and very clean."

It would have been nice to have a washer/dryer instead of just a dryer as if the weather is mild but wet it is difficult to dry clothes/towels. Tv was a bit odd, if using Netflicks it kept turning your programme off or you could not get on at all.

  • "The lodge was amazing, I will definitely be returning."

The other lodges on the site also look cool so I might try out a few of the other ones as well! The lodge we stayed, 9 Horizon View, was very spacious. Myself and my fiance just went for a weekend away on our own, however, the lodge could comfortably fit a family/group of people. Modern decor, clean and homely. TVs in every bedroom and a large TV in the living room, as well as a Bluetooth speaker. The hot tub worked perfectly, I've seen other reviews mentioning jets not working right, not sure if that was an issue that has since been fixed or if whoever wrote it didn't know you could twist the jets to open or close them, but anyway, it worked perfectly for us. Kitchen had everything you need, I like the touch of a pod coffee machine (I can't remember which pod type it was for, think it was dolce gusto. Plenty of space to park right by your lodge, easily enough space for 2 or 3 cars. Although the lodges are fairly close to eachother, they are cleverly positioned and, along with help from some landscaping, being decking out the back with the hot tub does feel private. The location is brilliant as a base in Cornwall, there's plenty of towns to visit within a 30 mins drive (Looe and Bodmin around 15 mins, Polperro around 20 and Fowey around 30) and many more places a little further. I'm already looking at when I can come back for another few nights soon and will probably look to book for a week at some point as well, as the only complaint I'd have about this holiday is that I only booked 3 nights haha! Stunning lodge in a beautiful and useful location. Can't wait to see you again soon, Southern Halt!

We were disappointed with the cleanliness on arrival, the windows had hand prints inside and there was food on the floor under the couch. Considering this time of Covid we would have expected the place to be pristine! We were also incredibly disappointed with the hot tub, not a bubble in sight!! We did report this and someone came to look at it but the outcome was just the same, it was like sitting in a warm bath and as pleasant as that was whilst looking up at the stars, there should definitely be bubbles in a hottub! The location was good for getting around and the site was incredibly quiet which is what we wanted.

  • "We had a fabulous week at horizon view."

Beautiful lodge in a fab location with the most amazing views. We'll equipped, spotlessly clean and just perfect. Our only issue was the hot tub. Only one jet working on arrival, someone came out to it, but still only one jet working and that wasn't working all the time. There definitely an issue with it, but we made the most of it as didn't want to spend the week moaning about hot tub jets. We would recommend the place and would visit again without doubt.

  • "The lodge was very well equipped; DAB radio, TV in each room, plenty of kitchen equipment."

However, there were no specific instructions for the main oven, other than in the welcome booklet which said "Ensure the time is set", well, we did make sure that the time was set, but after half an hour the oven was not heating up. After lots of fiddling about and an unhelpful phone call to management (who did in fairness dispatch a maintenance man) we discovered that the instructions should have read " Ensure the TIMER is set". So we called back and cancelled the maintenance guy and eventually got our dinner an hour late. Although the lodge was clean there were several plates and the grill pan which had been left dirty, not the cleaner's fault I suppose, but these things should be checked. Our main gripe was that the hot tub had no shelter from the wind which was whipping around the side of the lodge. We had a walk around and discovered that just about all of the other lodges had a small fence next to their hot tubs, which would have been good for ours too!

  • "On arrival we were wowed with how stunning the lodge was, very beautiful and homey."

We were not supplied with any washing up or dishwasher cleaning products which we had to supply ourselves and was only given one toilet roll to last 5 people for a weekend. When we opened the dishwasher it was full to the brim with bubbles, appeared to have washing up liquid in. We then noticed the hot tub was freezing cold, we would have expected it to be warm(ish) on arrival as we have paid to use the hot tub for the weekend. When we rang we was told it had been filled for fresh water and it will take 14 hours to heat up, this is not acceptable for us paying for a hot tub lodge weekend away, we were unable to use the hot tub until late Saturday evening. Highly disappointed with this service. On a positive note, the lodge was beautiful, very comfortable beds, quiet surroundings and felt safe and secure.

  • "We loved this property."

Yes it was a tad tired and yes the beds need new mattresses but the accommodation itself with its big and bright windows, a view to die for and a sunken hot tub were perfect. Storm Dennis battered us almost every day and night but the property provided us with a beautiful retreat when going outside to explore just wasn't possible. We would sit and snuggle up watching the storm from the comfort of the large sofas, entranced by the beauty from the landscape. On the nights that were clear we would run to the warmth of the hot tub and count the many stars we could see due to the lack of light pollution. My children said that was a memory that would stay with them forever. Thank you little house for giving me and my family a chance to reconnect.

Unfortunately the hot tub was not hot upon arrival at 4pm. We’d booked the accommodation for New Year’s Eve, on the basis of the lodge having a hot tub we could enjoy during New Years celebrations. At midnight the hot tub had only reached 34 degrees. We were unable to enjoy the tub until our second day, which was a real shame. In addition, the description of the accommodation stated two double beds, and two single beds. I also confirmed on booking, that there would be two double beds. Unfortunately the second double room was laid out as a twin.

Approximately second day of our stay skyes had plumber out to sort out hot water, on the ninth day no hot water again plumber came out told us it would be at least three days to be fixed.Contacted skyes who within 30 minutes offered us another lodge, we accepted ( in our opinion far superior). The location although a little isolated this was not a negative as it gave us total privacy the lodges are set in such a way that they do not look over each other, giving privacy when on the terrace or in the hot tub. The views from the terrace are are stunning. We would consider going back or we may try your other site Stonerush Lakes which has the Mill Restaurant and bar. There is a Spar supermarket within the village of Dobwalls which is all you need, also a pub The Highwayman which is a carvery which we did not visit as my wife is a vegetarian.
