  • "Brilliant property."

The pictures don’t do it justice! This property is as close as you can be to the beach. There are coffee shops and restaurants a stones throw away. A beautiful relaxing break for myself and my husband. Hopeful to come back! The videos were helpful for the codes etc. Might be worth doing one for the outside rinsing station, we came across it ourselves on the way in but could help prevent any sandy toes making their way in. Could do with access to some cushions for the outside chairs/deckchairs but they were fine anyway.

Thankyou Rebecca, Yes it is pretty special, so close to the beach and stunning views. You’re right the pictures just don’t do it justice. I’ll have a look at a Video for the rinsing station on my next visit, and outdoor cushions will be investigated. Thank you for your great feed back and perfect score James Property Owner

  • "Excellent property and fab location with great view."

Only downside was previous clients had turned off the heat pump so we had no hot water once we used up the tank. Fortunately the owner and I worked out what had happened and it just needed switching on and was ready in an hour. Owner very helpful. Everything else was great although the tin opener needs replacing.

Thank you Johnathan I will order a tin opener now Best wishes James Property Owner

  • "Two couples staying in Feb 2023 and were lucky with the weather."

The apartment looks exactly like the photos only with more space. The views are amazing, the location is steps away from bars, restaurants, shops and of course the beach. We were mesmerised every morning watching the waves crashing on the beach from the bedrooms or the comfy Lshaped sofa. We loved the high/low tide clock. The mini welcome packs in the kitchen and bathroom (dishwasher tablets, w-up liquid, shampoo, body wash, biscuits, tea, coffee) were a nice touch. The water pressure in the shower was good and the bath towels huge and great quality. The kitchen had every utensil you needed but of course you'll need your own condiments and extra kitchen roll etc. The building itself is very well maintained (corridors we're being painted whilst we were there) and secure with key code entry and there is also a key safe so you don't have to take the key out with you to the beach. There is also a lift but as the apartment is on ground level we found it easier to use the slope from the car park, especially whist unloading/loading the car. Despite being February most of the town was open for business. We didn't venture far by car but we did walk the coastal path to St Agnes to take in more of the amazing sea views. There is also a bus to bring you back! Thank you for an amazing stay we can't recommend Chapel Rock View enough.

Thank you so much for your great and detailed feed back. I agree the views are probably better than the photos and are mesmerising come any weather ! James Property Owner

The weather was mixed but that didn’t spoil our holiday at all as you can just snuggle down on the comfy sofas and read a book watching the waves crash on the beach. Really comfy beds, slept to the sound of the waves. We really have found a piece of heaven! We will definitely be rebooking in the future.

Thankyou Chris, I'm glad you were pleased with the level of equipment, we have worked hard to react to any sensible requests. I agree the local Bus service is great and the location to the main Bus stop is a stones throw. We quite often use the bus to pop around the other coastal spots and being a double decker you get a great vantage point, means you don't have to drive if you go out for Lunch. • "The location of The Dunes is perfect and have wanted to stay since it’s been built."

The property was very clean. The beds were soft so not ideal when you’re used to a firm mattress but they were good quality nevertheless. 2 king size beds, no zip/link beds. There is nothing left in the property in terms of kitchen bits (salt/pepper/oils/ etc, no dishwasher tablets, cloths, cleaning products, bleach etc. You need to bring it ALL. There were not even oven gloves I had to use a tea towel. The property has an air filtration system, in each room on the ceiling is some kind of fan which constantly makes a sound. It cannot be turned off so bring earplugs for sleeping if sound sensitive. You cannot adjust the heating, upon speaking to the owner it takes days to adjust it so if you’re too hot or cold there’s not much to do about it! The door to the outside in the living room (the crazy one you push out and slide), was extremely stiff due to the salt and was told it was £6000 by the owner and didn’t dare open it for fear of breaking it! The other door opens in the usual way so we used this one instead but there’s no catch so can’t leave it open if windy. There were lots of crockery & glassware which was great although no large glasses (pints or thereabouts). I had to tell the owner there were no roasting dishes or Pyrex jugs in the property so he sent some via Amazon. I had to make do when cooking until they arrived and use the mugs for gravy etc. We had a lovely week here, not sure if we would stay again because there were no zip & link beds, but that’s the main reason.

Dear Sally, I’m so glad you had a lovely week, I do remember responding to your query regarding Zip and Links before you arrived after you made the booking, and you said “well we will make do” Modern construction standards, require ventilation and pressure tests, and also a set level of air changes hence the air handling system which when on boost can create some noise from the fans if the boost switch is on, which I explained in the orientation video I sent you. I will look into providing Pint glasses, presumably this is for beer, but this is a unique request thus far. Hignballs, Flutes and Wine glasses along with Water glasses were replenished this winter. It is a really special location as you say. Thank you for your feed back James Property Owner

You will never tire of the view every time you open any of the curtains in either bedroom or lounge . The access to the beach from the main car park means you can be walking in the beach with 2 minutes of locking the front door of the apartment. Attention ti detail is fabulous here at the dunes and this is the first holiday home I have ever stayed in that even had cake forks ! Which is perfect to enjoy the delicious cakes from the cake shop on the main road at the bottom of access road. You don’t need to go far to find good food and even in winter season we found everything we needed within walking distance of the apartment including a quite large coop store. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a beach holiday a relaxing break or even wants to do some surfing . James the owner provides some very helpful videos to watch before you arrive so you know where to find things like the key safe and the bins store. He also kept in contact whilst we were there making sure everything g was ok for us . A truly beautiful apartment in a tremendous spot with the most amazing views . Thank you we hope to return again .

The only thing I would ask of the owner/maintenance/cleaning company is to leave more toilet roll, bin bags as only one toilet roll left in the toilet and one bin bag, not great for the week with 4 people staying. Utensils well stocked but more things like slow cooker, Radio or iPhone docking station would be handy. Basic foods I.e. salt, pepper, vinegar etc could be left there and easily wiped and sanitised during Covid-19. The location is perfect, situated overlooking the wonderful Perran Sands Beach, the beach is easily accessible via a private gate in the garden (you can also walk via the other side of the apartment complex if there is a high tide via a small bridge). The apartment is finished to a very very high standard and extremely comfortable with all creature comforts you could ask for. Each bedroom has a sea view and the views from the living room are wonderful. Being a ground floor flat you have a lovely decking area to enjoy the view. We love Perranporth, in our opionion the Dunes apartment complex is by far the best accommodation in Perranporth. The apartment is only a very short walk from the town with the Summerhouse restaurant and Alacatraz coffee shop being part of the Dunes complex. The Watering Hole bar (on the beach) is very very close to the apartment and is a fun place to have a drink whatever the weather. By far the best place to eat in Perranporth is The Willow Bistro which is extremely welcoming, a varied menu and as all the ingredients are sourced locally the meals are delicious (would recommend the crab salad, the Sunday lunch and the local beer and gin). From the dining table and Sofas (and even both bedroom windows) you look out over a small lawn and enjoy uninterrupted views of Perrenporth Beach. All of the shops, bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The car park seemed very private hence secure. It was absolutely top quality 10/10. Great situation to enjoy beach and coastal path walks in either direction. Great place to unwind. Can recommend without hesitation.

  • "Just Incredible” This has to be one of the best locations in Cornwall."

We were excited when we booked but blown away when we got here. The photographs just don’t do this place justice. Far reaching 180 degree sea views from the main room and both bedrooms, where you wake up to the view of Chapel Rock. From the living room it’s like looking at a picture postcard that is ever changing. We enjoyed watching the Storm come in and watching the tide go in and out. The beach is about 20 meters away if that. The apartment is also close to the town with shops and pubs less than 3 minutes walk away, the wi-fi was faster than at my office and it is furnished to a very high spec. Can’t recommend it highly enough would definitely stay again.

  • "The location was stunning and the apartment was superb."

It was equipped with everything we could possibly need for a self-catering holiday. It was on the beach, spacious and had beautiful views. The beds were very comfortable and there were powerful showers in the bathrooms. To complete we had reserved parking and it was close to shops and restaurants. All in all an excellent beachside rental that I would be very happy to recommend.

About the location

  • Newquay 9 miles
  • Truro 9.5 miles

Perranporth, a beautiful Cornish coastal town, lies in the heart of Poldark Country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Perranporth offers plenty of traditional pubs and shops, plus a classic bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in summer, overlooked by craggy rocks and a wonderful coastal path. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of the rich heritage with abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages. The local Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both well worth a visit to understand the fascinating history of this coastal area. Further afield are the miles of sandy beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay, and the breathtaking coastal walks around St Agnes, much of it owned by the National Trust. A perfect holiday base in Cornwall, with an abundance of activities to suit everyone.
