  • "Amazing little place, right at the heart of Looe."

Everything needed is there and it was spotless. Parking was simple in the mill pool car park. Pulled up outside to unload only and walked back once parked.

The place is super comfy and is in a great location! The stairs were a little daunting at first but we got used to them quickly! We will definitely be back!

  • "This was my first holiday since my wife passed away so I wasn't sure how I would get on."

I needn't have worried, feeling at home the moment I opened the door. Such a lovely fresh and cool feel about the cottage. An absolute must is a visit to Polperro, walk the coast path if you can, it's quite a hard walk but you can get a bus or a boat back. I really liked the Fishermans Arms and Peaky Blinders. Smugglers Cott good too. Will definitely go back.

Thank you so much for the positive review, I am pleased to hear that you felt at home at The Boat House. We would be delighted to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

Park in the Millpool car park, super easy to do. Boat trips were good especially across to Looe Island. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back

  • "The property is ideally located for the town beach pubs restaurants and local cliff walks ."

.car parking is not possible close to the cottage only to load and unload a small car but this is the same for 95% of the other holiday lets - we paid for a monthly ticket ith Cornwall Council at Millpool car park over the bridge approx 700 yards away which was cheaper than paying on a daily basis. The holiday let owner contacted us on a regular basis to check we were OK and happy with the cottage, which was very considerate of them and much appreciated by us. Overall a very nice stay.

  • "Lovely little cottage in the heart of Looe."

Very clean and comfortable. Loved the barn door , bringing in the sunshine and holiday atmosphere. Some lovely walks , restaurants and pubs . The town was very busy during the day , better to avoid at lunchtime by escaping on a coastal walk or to the beach .

  • "Great location in Looe."

Would maybe advise to book ahead for eating out ahead of time as most restaurants are booked up. Some great places like Sea Kitchen, Old Sail Loft and Smugglers Cott. Fabulous fresh seafood

  • "The spiral staircase was more like a helter skelter."

Couldn’t get a suit case up it to narrow and really not fit for purpose. We arrived on Friday for our week and left on Tuesday morning because my wife twisted her knee on the very poor staircase and has had medical treatment when we got home. She is still on medication now. Very poor.

It’s so central but feels quiet, and is just a few minutes walk to the beach. The cottage was comfortable and cosy - and is well equipped with everything you need.

  • "Arriving at the boat house, it was easy to pull up outside to unload cases."

The cottage is beautifully and recently renovated to a very high standard. The facilities were excellent and a lot of thought had gone into providing everything needed for comfort. Extra touches like the sonas speaker and plug in torch were great. The mattress was very comfortable as was all the bedding, so we both slept very well. The bathroom was done to a high standard with a lovely shower. The owner Simon, was great at communication and obviously cares that his guests are happy. Probably the best thing about the boat house is its location. Its situated within a couple of mins walk to the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. I would most definitely recommend the boat house to others and would stay again.

About the location

Liskeard 9 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
