  • "Could be a little gem, but its lacking in some areas."

Reasonable walking distance to porth beach. The nearest beach has been closed for over 2 years. The kitchen window has blown and the blind needs replacing. Shame you cant see the view. The washing machine and dish washer are in the garage underneath the flat. Also shared with another rental. Sofas were confortable and nice countryside views from the deck. The deck could do with a gate as the stairs would be dangerous for pets and toddlers. The board ptovided just blows down. The duvet was a double on a kingsize bed, not very good when cooler nights. Not much cutlary or usable kitchen plates etc You will need to bring binbags, sharp knife. The small freezer compartment was in urgent need of defrosting (quite a build up). No niceties like a welcome guide tothings in the ares or milk to get you started either. Its a shame as it has great potential.

  • "Generally it was a lovely holiday and a really nice stay."

Some of the fixtures/fittings felt a little fragile, including the toilet seat which was a bit of a rollercoaster (it shifted about) and this unfortunately led to it breaking towards the end of the stay. I also think it is worth putting in the description that it may not be suitable for large dogs (our Cane Corso struggled to find space to settle) and there is not somewhere on the property to toilet your dog (this would be helpful for people bringing puppies). As I said though, all in all we had a lovely holiday here.

  • "Not for the tall, not for the wide, not for those with mobility issues and not for dogs!"

However Great location, 45minute cliff top walk to Watergate bay and all that it has to offer, as well as only only a 10 minute walkto Porth beach and town itself! Peak season according to neighbours there are a couple of larger houses that are prone to party lets, these often can be quite noisy. Area itself is also known for frequent power cuts we had 3 in one night! The apartment itself was very clean and tidy the bed was reasonably comfy! However being honest I think this let is more suited to a single occupant whom is shorter than 5ft 9 and of a slighter build! to use the kitchen sink properly at 6’2 I had to open the velux window and stick my head out! (The window itself needs replacing as the double glaze is blown) to clean teeth in the toilet sink I had to kneel on the floor! Because of the slopped roof getting out of bed involved a commando style roll manoeuvre. The shower was only accessible sideways on and I’m of a slimmer build to many! The apartment isn’t really dog friendly with no garden, only a small balcony with a flimsy dog barrier (not fixed) which can be blown over in a mild wind the very steep steps meant we had to carry our Dog up and down! Also Because of the design privacy in the bathroom is an issue, even when your partner goes out onto the balcony because of the loo window, even there you can’t hide what you’re doing! Facilities were all there but washing machine and dishwasher were downstairs in a separate location so never got used! No ironing board, table is glass so can’t use that, so the floor or bed is only option! (Not good for packed clothes) Top tips if you’re staying here! Take coffee pods take a couple of sharp knives as the ones supplied are useless! Take a washing up bowl! Take some board games and torch and a couple of battery packs to keep your phones charged! It did the job for us! It took a couple of days to adjust to the place in my opinion just needs a re design refit

Dear Annette, I hope you are well. I thought I should take a moment to respond to your review, which I feel is very unfair. As you might have seen in the reviews proceeding yours people actually really enjoy staying at Sea2 and have never mentioned any of the issues you claim to have experienced. In fact, you yourself didn’t mention any of these issues during your stay. Which is so surprising we had a rather pleasant text message exchange throughout your time with us. The last message I received from you, and I quote word for word, read: “We’ve had a lovely week at Sea2, thank you. Our dog has fallen in love with the beaches around here” This message doesn’t suggest to me that you were displeased with the property. In fact, quite the opposite. If I had known of your issues, I might have been able to do something about it. Obviously I’m not able to make the ceilings higher - even though I’m 5’ 11” and have never had any issues. But I would be able to source an ironing board for you for instance. Something you’ll be pleased to know is now in the utility room. We also have never had any power outages before. So I’m not sure where you got the information that this happens frequently as it doesn’t. I think you were just unlucky. I hope the next time you come to visit the beaches your dog loves so much you find more suitable accommodation. Regards Chris Property Owner

  • "Very clean, stylish and comfortable conversion, a little quirky but that was good."

Our only complaint was that the bedroom ceiling was very low and it was difficult to sit up in bed with our morning cuppa or to read a book before sleep. Porth is also very hilly.

  • "Perfect little spot to stay!"

Really great location with easy access to Porth beach and nearby walks. The flat is really clean and quiet, it felt so peaceful. Great to have a parking space on site. I was here on my own and it was the perfect size for one. I was lucky enough to have some sunshine and loved sitting on the little deck in the morning sunshine. Would definitely recommend and may come back again!

  • "We had a fantastic week at Sea 2."

The apartment is small but ideal for 2 and makes excellent use of the available space and is exactly as described. It’s fabulously situated with beautiful beaches within a very short walk. The centre of Newquay is only a 45 minute walk and similar to Watergate Bay, both with beautiful views from the headland. Well placed for days out to the likes of Tintagel, Padstow, Falmouth, St Michaels Mount etc. Would highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again!

The property is marketed as dog friendly but our elderly dog could not manage the stairs and we had to carry her which proved difficult.

Property advertised as ground floor and ground floor bedroom being a disabled veteran was amazed when I got to property to find I had to climb twelve wooden steps to get in the property I struggled the whole holiday with the stairs also it was supposed to be dog friendly and with a little 15 year old westie it was not dog friendly

Hi Malcom, I'm really sorry this happened to you and I have taken steps to ensure it won't happen again. Unfortunately, the property was labelled incorrectly on the site. I had this removed immediately after receiving this feedback. I also asked Sykes to call you to apologise and offer some compensation. I hope they have done this. If not, I urge you to speak to them. I will follow up with them too. Sorry once again, Chris Property Owner

We cooked most nights as the kitchen had all the equipment. The views from the apartment are good of both Newquay and the Countryside. The location is great with Newquay 5 mins away, Padstow 20 and Land's End about an hour. We would highly recommend this apartment!!!
