  • "An enjoyable stay."

Facilities were as described and well maintained. A property with a hot tub, swimming pool and sauna would be expected to provide a robe, towel or both. We only had our bath towel. The pool water was ok for a swim but not warm enough for little ones. The changing cubicles didn't have a bench or hook which was inconvenient. Some plastic wine glasses would have been helpful when in the hot tub. We found the cottage cozy but a little cramped for our party of 4 adults, our grandchildren aged 6 and 9 and a dog. The grounds were very well maintained and the kids enjoyed the wooden play structure. Also the indoor multi purpose sports hall, and gym were great. Mullion itself is a pretty little village with a welcoming pub, The Old Inn. Poldhu cove is short drive or walk and is worth a visit as is Lizard.

  • "Scrumpy is a lovely stone property with outstanding features, it is absolutely spotless and has high quality fittings and furnishings throughout."

Well hidden away on the Newton Farm Equestrian Centre, the hot tub, swimming pool and sports facilities are equal to any hotel. If there's one criticism it's that all of the property let's are in close proximity to one another with windows overlooking other's private space. That said we had the place to ourselves so it didn't affect our stay at all.

  • "Excellent property, wonderfully equipped with a friendly and helpful owner."

The owner has invested in many facilities and we appreciated the hot tub, swimming pool (significantly larger than any we have seen at other rental properties), full size football goals and snooker/pool tables. The property is in a great location to explore the Lizard and local coast by car or on foot.

  • "Overall we enjoyed our holiday at Scrumpy, however I didn't realise how close our property would be to a neighbouring property and felt that the hot tub would have benefited being under cover like the other property, this would have made it feel less intrusive."

Apart from that we had a lovely stay, the facilities were great and we loved playing table tennis, badminton, pool and darts and having a swim.

  • "Scrumpy offered a fantastic holiday exprrience."

The cottage is lovely, bright, spotlessly clean and fresh. The facilities are outstanding and we were in the pool at least once every day - the views from the pool are lovely. It was very quiet at The cottage with only one ithere cottage next door (another two on site but not in view). The hot tub was well tended during our week's stay. The location is great too with Poldhu Cove being in walking distance. We didn't want to leave and even though our suitcases aren't unpacked yet, we are planning a return visit.

With 5 of us staying to play golf at the local club there was plenty of space and facilities to freshen up.The hot tub had a minor issue on first evening but having reported this ALL repairs carried out by the doll evening (Thanks go to the owners). The setting was also superb.Quiet but also as described a 10 min stroll to the local town facilities. All in all highly recommended

  • "Super place."

So well appointed. Lovely leisure facilities and surrounding garden. Very comfortable accommodation, especially the living room. Great drying facilities for wet towels and swimming costumes. We loved the hot tub and our only comment would be a bit more screening for privacy. Good location for exploring the Lizard Peninsula and not too far to make the trip to Landsend.

  • "Absolutely stunning property and facilities."

Well maintained, lovely welcome and tour from the owner. Property has an iron, board and hairdryer per bedroom which isn't in the notes about the property so you don't need to take these. A☆ Lovely break. Perfect location.

  • "Upon arrival we all were super excited to relax as we came from bustling London."

We booked the cottage months in advance, because it was dog friendly accommodation. When we booked we asked for a place where the dog will be fenced in, this was not the case when we arrived. I mentioned this to the owner trying to find a solution, to no avail. When in the main bedroom I noticed just outside the window were the hot tub for the cottage behind us. This were awkward you couldn't open the rooms window without having to listen to the people in the hot tub. I instead had to wait for the people to exit the hot tub before I could go to bed. The cottages are part of a farm where they have horses, this was made evident by the smell and the flies. Our cottage were in the front where people accessed facilities and parking for the cottage behind ours. You did not have much privacy! Other than the above I loved the shared swimming pool, and the facilities the kids enjoyed. I shall not mind staying there again but in a different cottage.

Thank you for your comments, we are glad that you enjoyed the use of our great facilities and that you would stay with us again. Unfortunately we don't advertise Scrumpy as having an enclosed outside area for dogs. We hope that we make it clear from the photos and description that the property is located on a farm with horses and although we feel like there isn't any excessive smell of fly issues, we hope that the majority of our guests love the fact they are staying in a proper Cornish countryside property and enjoy the fact they are able to book horse riding with us directly.
