“This lovely quirky spacious bright cottage has been lovingly and tastefully restored, with many home comforts particularly the welcoming lounge with comfortable sofas and a wonderful log burner (which we needed every evening as weather cold!”

), beds were very comfortable and bathrooms large. Unfortunately due to the weather didn't get to use the BBQ or sit out in the peaceful back garden. The cottage was very close to the stunning North coast of Cornwall with their beautiful sandy bays and also not far to Truro and the South.

I would definitely recommend this cosy cottage and would stay in it again if in that part of Cornwall.

Set in the quiet rural village of Fraddon, in the heart of Cornwall, is this delightful stone cottage.

Blue Anchor provides a welcoming accommodation, with high-quality furnishings to ensure you get that home-from-home feel as soon as you walk through the door.

Opening to a spacious lounge, with two large sofas, perfect for curling up of an evening while catching up with your favourite shows on the wall-mounted TV, also benefitting from a stone inglenook fireplace housing a woodburning stove for that added extra warmth during those winter months.

The dining area also has a woodburning stove, giving the room a warm ambience, while six people can gather around the dining table for a family dinner.

The kitchen is wonderfully appointed to the rear of the cottage, with all contemporary appliances on-hand to help you cook up a storm for the whole family.

A family shower room completes the ground floor.

As the day draws to a close, follow the steps up to the first floor, offering three bedrooms: one king-size, one double and one twin, the master boasting an en-suite bathroom, where you can retreat to a warming bath tub for a relaxing soak with a well-deserved glass of wine.

To the rear of the property, there is a lawned garden and gravelled area with furniture provided.

Why not whip up some summer treats on the Weber style drum BBQ while sun sets, relaxing with a cold drink, and let your little ones run freely in the enclosed space.

While you’re in the area, why not take a drive to the bustling town of Newquay?

With its picturesque sandy beaches and nearby cafés for a spot of lunch, plus the wonderful Pirate’s Quest attraction, featuring actors, special effects and elaborate sets which your little ones will delight in.

Or visit a variety of historic mansions, including the 16th century manor house Trerice, offering period furnishings and a formal Tudor garden.

Blue Anchor is the perfect choice for a remote country retreat with your family.
