  • "The cottage was beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped."

    It was a lovely peaceful quiet location in a good position for exploring the Roseland area. My only small issue was a small rather bright light at night in the smoke detector. Would definitely stay again or recommend to family and friends.

  • "We had a lovely relaxing holiday ."

    Particularly liked the peace and quiet , our own little bridge and all the wildlife - rabbits, blackbirds squirrels, woodpeckers and we saw a deer. On the last night we had a visit from a large dragonfly too. Peony cottage was perfectly placed for all the local amenities, lost gardens of Heligan, and lots of little beaches - we swam every day . Thank you

  • "Perfect so peaceful, lovely to wake up and watch the bunnies and squirrels running around outside ."

    The bed was amazing so comfy . Everything we needed in kitchen was provided although we took our own dolce gusto coffee machine as I cant manage without my morning coffees ,maybe worth a thought , there was a cafetiere in the cupboard thou, we really loved our stay thank you

    . but thats us not been able to use the combi oven that was part of the microwave.. and a second mirror would have been useful out of the bathroom. Otherwise this was a beautiful cottage, in gorgeous tranquil grounds and very close to local places of interests. Helpful info provided in the cottqge and approchable friendlly host inc Ralph

  • "A great place to stay - all exactly as advertised."

    Peony cottage is set in a peaceful tranquil valley, by a stream, with a lovely outlook, yet was still a convenient base to explore the Eden Project, Gardens of Heligan, and the coast. Roger and Claire (owners) were welcoming and friendly when we engaged them, but were otherwise unobtrusive. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

  • "A very comfortable studio room in a peaceful rural location, beautifully decorated, set in a large, attractive, well maintained garden."

    Introductory scones & cream very welcome. Location very convenient for exploring the St Austell area by car. Bus stops for Mevagissey, Heligan, Fowey etc within 10 minutes walk. I especially enjoyed sitting on the patio by the little stream.

Perched on the edges of Polgooth, Cornwall and enjoying scenic views of the countryside is this inviting, detached cottage of Peony Cottage.

Enjoying ground-floor accommodation throughout with access to a range of sights amidst this part of Cornwall, such as Newquay, Truro and the Roseland Heritage Coast, Peony Cottage is an idyllic base for a couples getaway.

Upon arrival, you'll be relieved to discover on-site parking before soaking up your serene surroundings.

Progress inside to discover a charming kitchen fitted with the essentials needed to create those easy meals.

These meals can be enjoyed in the studio-style living room or out on the patio amongst those charming views and sounds of the trickling stream; why not pop open a bottle of fizz and make a toast to this romantic escape, too?

After dining together, cosy up on the leather sofa and switch on the TV to enjoy a movie night together before retiring to the sumptuous double bed.

In the morning, progress to the well-presented shower room, where you can freshen up in the spacious, walk-in shower ahead of a day packed with explorations; where will you go on your adventures, Porthpean Beach or Caerhays Castle?

Rose Villa Barns consists of a charming selection of three cottages resting on the edges of Polgooth, Cornwall. This collection offers stone-built, pet-free accommodation with private outdoor seating areas and parking available nearby, making it suited to couples or small families looking for a relaxing base from which they can explore the delights of The Roseland Heritage Coast. The surroundings enjoy a mixture of countryside and seaside, with the beaches of Porthpean and Pentewan resting within reach, alongside the mesmerising attractions of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. If you don't fancy cooking, why not visit the Kingswood Bar & Restaurant for bistro-style cuisine, or perhaps the Polgooth Inn, a 16th-century pub labelled 'one of the finest in Cornwall'? Alternatively, you can pick up ingredients for a home-cooked meal from Polgooth's convenience store. For a day out packed with coastal fun, pay Mevagissey a visit, where the attractions of Mevagissey Museum, Mevagissey Model Railway and the Mevagissey Aquarium are bound to keep you entertained. With its history rooted firmly in tin mining, the village of Polgooth is now a quiet settlement on the outskirts of St Austell, frequented by visitors enjoying the area's outstanding countryside. Just 3 miles from the sea, the village is close to several lovely beaches, and the south-west coastal path also runs close by. The area has a host of visitor attractions, with the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Tall Ships Harbour at Charlestown all within a 15 minute drive. The quaint fishing harbour at Mevagissey, with its passenger ferry across the bay to Fowey, is just 5 miles away, and the beautiful Roseland Peninsula with the villages of St. Mawes and St. Just-in-Roseland lies just a little further. Enjoy a coastal walk and take in the wonderful views, spend a day on the beach, or visit one of the numerous attractions close by. A fantastic location, any time of the year.
