The front elevation really under-sells what lies beyond. Lovely house and excellent attention to detail made for a lovely easy stay.

  • "Godrevy cottage was absolutely amazing."

Firstly, we couldn’t believe how big it was inside, the pictures really do not do it justice. All of the rooms were spacious, it has a downstairs loo which was really handy & we loved the garden bar! The cottage also had everything we could even think of & more. It’s also finished to a lovely standard, how we wish we could live there… The welcome basket with a bottle of bubbly was such a lovely touch. We have recommended this cottage to all of our friends & family & we cannot wait to stay there again next year.

  • "We were met at the cottage by George on our arrival."

He was very pleasant and showed us how everything worked etc. The welcome pack he left was amazing, lots of local products and he even had a bottle of bubbles chilling in the ice bucket (nice touch). The cottage was extremely well appointed and included just about everything you would ever need. The accommodation was clean and fresh and extremely comfortable. The patio area at the rear with its large outdoor sofa was the ideal place to spend the end of the day enjoying a drink. The location is great to explore the local area and the beach at Hayle is probably one of the best in Cornwall. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would highly recommend the cottage.

  • "From the day before our holiday the Hosts George and Christine were in touch to check our arrival so they could be at the cottage to welcome us and show us around."

A very warm welcome was followed by a tour of the place and the facilities. It was like walking in to a brand new fully equipped modern house with all the facilities that you would think of. Dogs bed, towel and other items for the dog, fruit basket with biscuits, scones, fudge, wine, bread milk ,coffee, tea ,sugar, salt, pepper and much more so you do not have to buy anything straight away on your arrival. The kitchen had brand new cutlery crockery and glasses etc. A nice barbeque with charcoal provided.A very nice bar and seating arrangement in the garden was appreciated specially when we did a barbeque Basically everything that you need was more or less thought of and provided. We were 5 and the beds and rooms were more than adequate. The bathroom and the toilet were very clean with all towels provided. The hosts made a point of welcoming a couple from our party personally next day as they arrived after us. On the whole extremely pleasant experience of going from home to home and I am sure I have forgotten a lot of things! Like the surround sound system in all the rooms! Excellent wifi etc. Truly the sort of host and property that you dream of. Can not wait to go Back. Good luck to George and Christine Hope to see you very very soon.

About the location

St Ives 7 miles; Penzance 7.5 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
