  • "As you can charge for any damages etc it would be nice to know that you and the owner are aware of any, so that other holiday makers can be notified and not have to worry that they will be forfeited."

The only disappointment we had was that we could not see out of the windows so cleaned the patio ones ourselves. Fortunately the day before we left a window cleaner appeared.

Dear Barry, Im not completly sure I fully understand your damages piece, but if say I had to charge you for damage, it would either be rectified or replaced and I would advise the next guest at the time of reporting which the earliest it can be be done practically is when we are aware which is not until you/prior guest has checked out. so its tricky being able to inform the future guest of any issues before the prior guest checks out. I will look at increasing the Window Clean frequency and am grateful for your feed back in this regard. Glad you had a comfortble stay James Property Owner

Thank you Tim, yes your right it is a good location, thank you for your 100% Score, In November we replenished Linens, and had a full redecoration of the Lounge and Hall way, adding Kitchen items, that were getting tarnished. A beautiful apartment in a lovely quiet part of Newquay, near to several beaches, for some great walks. Nice comfy bed and everything we needed for a great stay. Even though we didn't need to, James the owner was available for any problems we may have had. Definitely worth a stay and hopefully we will return again

A few minutes walk to the excellent beaches and 10 minutes to the town, is very handy, and being able to park the car outside is great. It is very modern with good showers, excellent beds and a well equipped kitchen. Nice big patio with sight of the sea and, if the weather allows, fabulous sunsets. James the owner is extremely helpful and very clear with instructions. Happy to recommend this property for your stay in Newquay.

Thank You Phillip, yes the Patio is huge ! Its the largest on the development, as the apartment was then Show apartment in the block. thank you again James Property Owner

  • "Constructive criticism - there were no bags to put bedding etc in, despite that being requested."

We also spent some time looking for the wifi codes, and eventually had to phone James (the owner). He was very helpful, but surely it would be sensible to include this in the welcome pack (and also clear info on how to access the bins). However, it was a very smart and comfortable apartment, and it worked well as the base for our daughter's wedding, including the hair and make-up for her and bridesmaids in the morning. We do not blame Sykes Cottages for the distinctly Cornish weather!

Dear Adrian, the WiFi codes are included in the Welcome E Mail, not in the pack it self so that Parents have access, Hope that makes sence. very best James Property Owner

  • "The apartment is in an excellent location."

It is very well equipped and extremely comfortable with good quality bedding, towels etc. The host is very helpful and provided lots of useful information. The only slight negative for me is that I get hot at night but didn’t feel able to leave the window open as the apartment is on the ground floor. This wouldn’t stop me staying there again and overall the apartment is excellent.

Only downside the parking regulations are not enforced and had two cars parked behind us in" non bays" which made parking a bit tricky at times

  • "Sorry the apartment was great, let down by minor niggles, the wifi was not good, my son and myself had to do some work and the signal kept dropping out, annoying but not detrimental."

The quilt for me was far too heavy I'm used to a 1.5 tog duvet, I slept on top of the bed, no duvet very comfortable. Some white wine glasses and flutes would have been nice. As I said these are very minor niggles not complaints, the two problems were the sun loungers were locked in the outside chests although the combination was set on open the locks had rusted shut, also the cleanliness of the walk-in shower was not good, dirty floor pan and hair blocking the drain, not ours as my hair is very short and my wife has alopecia arearta and is completely bald. Overall the apartment was fantastic and I would certainly stay there again, great views and access to town/beaches.

We really enjoy the stunning uninterrupted Sea view walks even in stormy weather !! As it’s a ground floor apartment with a massive patio, access is so easy, the patio’s great for a few sundowners of an evening. Hoping to rebook Nov 2020 if we can get in ! Great Value.

The walks, the views (breathtaking) and all variety of shops within walking distance. We all loved it but our holiday went so quick, I would love to return next year if we can get in as it is such a popular place. The apartment itself is spotless and really modern and James who overseas everything made sure everything was perfect for us. (every holiday home should have one) any niggles we had were sorted straightaway. There was also a lovely hotel down the road overlooking the sea which is also a café overlooking the sea, and a licensed bar for non residents if you didn't want to go too far in the evenings and owners were lovely and friendly.

  • "Beautiful apartment and great location."

Unfortunately there was building work being carried out all week which meant we couldn’t open the patio doors during the day. Which was inconvenient. However the owner was fabulous and really helpful coming up with solutions. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for Sykes who didn’t seem to care at all and couldn’t have been less helpful. Would certainly stay here again, just maybe not through Sykes.

The kitchen was really clean and well equipped and the lounge area was extremely comfortable . It was lovely to have coffee pods provided free of charge and impressive to have comprehensive instruction manuals for all the equipment . The bathrooms had lovely toiletries and superbly soft towels . The water was hot and abundant . The beds were so comfortable and had top quality duck down quilts to snuggle under at the end of the day . It was a really secure place with parking and a lovely patio area ( which sadly we didn't use much due to the weather ) Nothing was too much trouble and when we asked about a hair dryer ( which has clearly gone missing as the instructions were there )a brand new one was immediately delivered to our door . If you book this accommodation you will not be disappointed as it it wonderfully located and of a high standard . Tesco , the bakery and local shops are within a two minute walk and Newquay town centre is only a short walk away . We couldn't recommend this place highly enough .

  • "This is a lovely apartment within walking distance of several really beautiful beaches- with stunning scenery and great surfing opportunities- not least Lusty Glaze bay which won the Times award for beach of the year this year."

The apartment is beautifully presented and very clean. The whole locality is beautifully maintained, clean and there were lifeguards on every beach we visited. Our grandson is too young for surfing but there were shallow areas, rock pools and acres of sand. Even at the height of the season it is possible to be away from the crowds by choosing a beach a bit further from the centre ( still walking distance) There is a Tesco Express a very short walk away and the town centre itself is not far, in other words you can leave the car and easily access bars, restaurants, beaches and other amenities giving the opportunity to have a very relaxing holiday. There is one parking space and we easily found somewhere for our group's second car in a near by street and again only a couple of minutes walk. The beds are roomy and very comfortable. There are 2 bathrooms and one has a bath as well as a shower. There are all the conveniences of home with laundry facilities, dishwasher, microwave etc and even a coffee machine-bliss! There are even chargeable torches. Younger members particularly enjoyed the number of TV's ( one in each bedroom as well as the lounge) - especially our grandson who is not used to having his own TV. There are also a few books and games etc The apartment is new so the decor and furnishings were all tip top and a lot of thought has gone into providing everything you might need for comfort and enjoying a holiday. We were on the ground floor and the outlook is towards the sea with no buildings in between - the view is mainly sky and garden and a bit of the coast/sea being on the ground floor. There is a lovely patio to sit out as well as access to communal grass and garden in front- this was great for the six year old with us - supervision is needed as the site is fairly open. Again all the patio furniture you might need is provided. In addition there was so much thought, kindness and warm welcome from the owner by providing some toiletries, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits as well as bedding and towels etc James- thank you, we had a lovely memorable week.
