  • "Fantastic cottage which I’ve booked again."

But! the washing machine didn’t work, our washing got stuck, the clothes were ruined, the very very nice house keeper would only text not answer calls (which I found rather annoying, I hate texting bit unprofessional - I kept thinking is she a teenager lol?) and this put a mildly bad note on the holiday. They sent a plumber who couldn’t fix it. We couldn't do any washing and ended up washing our clothes in the bath tub. But! I’ve booked again because the house is so charming and the general presentation superb. Hope the washing machine is sorted by September! Minor points - no scissors in the house and no large bodum for coffee. Thanks!

  • "Rose Cottage was a lovely place to stay at Christmas."

It looked very welcoming when we arrived after dark, with the hallway lit up and a pretty Christmas tree to greet us, plus a nice gift and welcome message awaiting us.The cottage itself was charming with it’s thatched roof and low beams (not so good if you’re 6ft 3!). It was clean and well-equipped, comfortable and warm. I would definitely recommend Rose Cottage.

The views are stunning. Well equipped and Jenny the house keeper ensures it’s immaculate. Very dog friendly with a beautiful garden. We’ll be returning! Thank you for an amazing break!

  • "Very pretty cottage in a very beautiful part of the world."

The garden is stunning with exceptional views and the cottage really benefits from the double doors leading out from the kitchen. We spent most of our time outside. Inside, be prepared for a typical old cottage, low ceilings and creaky floors, but this all adds to the experience. That part of Cornwall is simply stunning, you can walk from the cottage to Helford (and get the ferry over to Helford Passage), St Anthony and Flushing. We took a kayak and used it several times. It’s well placed for drives to Sennen, Kynance Cove and Portcurno, the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall. All in all a lovely week.

  • "Beautiful chocolate box cottage with stunning views."

Easy check in and hassle free. Did not really understand why Covid would cause the check in time to move back to 6pm, surely you clean the cottages anyway? and check out by 9am. Seemed excessive and basically cuts a day off the booking.

Thank you for you feedback. We are happy to hear you loved Rose Cottage and that you have been able to enjoy the lovely views. The check in and check out times have been moved due to Covid-19 Cleaning Guidelines. Property Owner

  • "Cottage was fantastic."

It has everything you need, very clean and accommodating. The caretaker left us scones and wine- lovely touch! Very central to the area and a lovely little village. The pictures don’t do the cottage justice, it absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be making a return.

  • "Rose Cottage is a magical gem."

Peaceful and cozy. Sunrises over the hills were a real highlight. The house is full of character. Even more beautiful and charming than the pictures and very quiet. Loved the fireplace and the tub. Absolutely spotless when we arrived with gorgeous welcome treats. Extremely helpful host! Manaccan is also charming. We felt very welcome. It was the perfect getaway and we can't wait to come back!!

  • "Very relaxing."

Extrem Calm region (Culdrose Airfield is not very active). Way to next shop for "unexperienced one-lane drivers with only right-driving experience " small adventure for itself ;)

  • "Very comfortable cosy cottage fabulous area of Cornwall and very easy booking process the only point I would raise, and this is not a criticism, is the lack of recycling boxes/bags."

However after over 10 holidays in different cottages in Cornwall booked through different companies I find this is a common problem so maybe all you holiday companies should get together and find a solution.

  • "The cottage was warm, welcoming and had a lovely ambience."

The cream tea, bottle of wine and coffee were very welcome. We had very good weather & managed a few uses of the picnic table. The garden is very pretty & the view over fields gave it an open feel. The beds very comfortable with very lovely bedding. A very comfortable lounge & the kitchen diner spacious & very well equipped. The New Inn, 2 minutes walk, is community owned & does food on certain nights, it is very friendly. We had very good weather & didn't need to travel off the Lizard, lots of walks, beaches, coves the river. I am sending a separate email to you as there are a few comments I would like to make to help improve the experience.

Only inaccuracy was that the village shop has now closed. Nearest one around four/five miles away. Lovely welcoming touches with scones, jam and milk. Would definitely consider returning

About the location

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
