  • "This was our third year at the Net Loft, it is just the most perfect place to stay."

Loads of room for two adults and two kids, the kitchen is well set out for the cook to still be involved in the fun too which is nice. In fact we catered for six most nights (grandparents stayed nearby) and we had plenty of room. The location can't be beaten, it's hard to understand how hassle-free this will make your stay if you're two minutes to the harbour, two minutes to great restaurants, two minutes to the car park. And it's easy to spend a good few days in Mousehole without moving, even though it's surrounded by amazing scenery, it's just so peaceful and beautiful there. We spent all day in the harbour, had dinner and then roamed around the lanes discovering all the paths and views that are only accessible by foot. It's a very special place, and the Net Loft is the perfect place to call home while you're there.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to hosting you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The Netloft is a cozy apartment with a lot of natural light."

The bedrooms are cozy, there is one bathroom with a toilet, and one separate toilet. However, the cleanliness could be much better. Upon arrival, it was clear that it had not been cleaned. The sofas were covered in hair, and the white floors were dirty everywhere, sticky, and covered in black grime. The entire apartment could use a deep clean. In the kitchen cabinets, there are cobwebs hanging between the pots and pans. We washed everything we wanted to use before using it.The beds were neatly made, but only one towel per person was provided, and there was no toilet paper.Apart from the cleanliness, this is a cozy apartment, ideally located by the harbor of Mousehole.

Thank you for this honest feedback, and we're sorry the cleanliness fell short of what you should expect on arrival. We've taken this seriously, especially coming after a similar concern was raised in a previous review. We've now put in place a new cleaning regime, and I visited the property this week (early August) to check — the current guests confirmed it was clean on arrival. The lack of toilet roll was a clear oversight - this is now being checked as standard as part of every changeover. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know — it's helped us make concrete changes, and we're committed to keeping this standard up. Property Owner

  • "The property in essence is spacious and light and situated in a lovely village with plenty of amenities."

Unfortunately, the property itself was found unclean with dust everywhere, dirty bed linen, and an unsafe handrail to external steps. I have tried to resolve the issue with Sykes to contact the owner but found them less than helpful and no response after sending photos. If the owner reads this message I would be more than happy to discuss but we were very disappointed with the rental and Sykes response and would not recommend it to anyone until it has been thoroughly cleaned and correctly maintained.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're sorry your stay didn't meet the standard we normally pride ourselves on. We take cleanliness seriously and our changeover records confirm the bed linen was freshly laundered and changed ahead of your arrival. The dust you photographed appears to have been in areas behind and beneath fixed appliances (such as the oven and drawers under the bed) that fall outside our standard changeover clean — we've fed this back to our housekeeping team so those areas are checked more thoroughly in future. On the handrail: it's original to the property and, being old ironwork, is rusty, though it has been checked and remains structurally safe. We take the point on its appearance and it's already scheduled to be replaced shortly. We did respond to you directly via Sykes when this was raised and would still be glad to discuss it further if you'd like to get in touch. Thank you again for the feedback — we're using it to make some practical improvements. Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The whole property was warm and cosy with continuous hot water day and night . The bed was really comfortable and all linen crisp and clean and rooms well presented. Kitchen equipment was really comprehensive. Milk and delicious biscuits were provided as too was a fresh vase full of flowers . We found the steps up to the property easier than we had imagined but one issue was the hand rail was really rusty and wobbly so we couldn’t hold on to it ! Also being a Yale lock a second key would have been handy

Thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We will definitely get on to your suggestion of an extra key and the note about the hand rail. Thank you and we hope to host you again. Property Owner

We booked here with our daughter and boyfriend who were 22 so these single beds were not combatable to sleep on, Need better beds. House was nice, everything we needed inside to cook and live so that was nice. Location was good, parking not so good and very costly everyday. Mobile phone signals inside was poor, you had to go out to ring anyone. Hand rail outside very rusty and needs replacing before someone cuts there hands on it. Would stay again if they had new beds.

Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words. Both the beds and the handrail are due to be replaced this winter so we hope to host you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The Net Loft was in a wonderful location in Mousehole - a beautiful village that we have stayed at on numerous occasions."

The accommodation was well appointed and looked quite stunning with marvellous natural light. The facilities were as you would expect in a modern apartment and it was well maintained and spotlessly clean. If we had one small issue it was that the single bed mattresses were rather uncomfortable and the duvets on the single beds could really have been heavier winter duvets by the first week of October when we stayed. Having said that we would have no hesitation in recommending the Net Loft and Mousehole to friends and family.

  • "Perfect location a few steps away from the harbour."

Upstairs open plan living area is superb, very comfortable, light and airy. downstairs facilities and bedrooms are small. The instructions need updating, the double mattress springs were noisy and the outside shared access was untidy - we saw a rat twice and a neighbour said they had seen one going up our steps. The rats came from another neighbour's decking. We did thoroughly enjoy our stay and would stay there again. Thank you

  • "A stunning house in the most absolutely perfect location."

Steps from the harbour, it's a joy to spend time in this light open, airy space where a whole family can find a place to be comfortable. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked and in terms of tools, I've never stayed in a place that was so well supplied. Useful touches like torches and a first aid kit show how much care and attention is paid here. When we had one very minor issue (with the TV, nothing important), both the housekeeper and the owner were amazingly responsive. It was such a magical holiday and we made so many memories here I've done something I've never done before, booked again for next year!

The property

This charming converted Net Loft nestles in the centre of the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole, one of Cornwall's hidden gems, famous for its Christmas lights, with views from the harbour across Mount's Bay to St Michael's Mount.

Conveniently located in its heart this once modest net loft situated above the old village bark house (where nets were treated), has been transformed into an enchanting holiday home.

The property itself is set over two floors and is accessed via granite steps leading to the first floor level.

The interior design cleverly reflects the centuries old tradition of life bound up with the sea and has immense appeal.

Comfortably furnished and well equipped, open beams and exposed granite walls add to its character.

There are three stylish bedrooms and a pristine family bathroom on the ground floor.

Upstairs is the versatile open plan living room with a kitchen and dining area featuring a lofty ceiling with exposed beams and velux windows to make it extremely light and airy.

Reversed style accommodation affords a view of the harbour and Mousehole Island.

Although there is no garden, the harbour is only a few steps away where you can sit back and enjoy the colourful scene.

The village fishing heritage dates back to 1266 and the tightly knitted streets and lanes are full of local Lamorna granite built cottages.

Perfect for a stroll to a host of pubs and restaurants, collect some provisions from the excellent delicatessen, or use the property as a base for touring Cornwall with beaches and sheltered coves, some fantastic walking as well as attractions which include Lands End, numerous National Trust properties and Gardens and the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
