  • "Lovely cottage."

Great parking in the drive of the cottage. Easy to walk up to the town, less than 10 minutes.

  • "We chose Sea Holly due to it's remote location in West Penwith but also close proximity to St Just, which has all the refreshements and amenities you could want."

If you want the true Cornish experience then it is perfect. It is a mid terrace stone building that has been very tastefully renovated to give a modern, cosy and coastal feel. Great as a retreat, but also as a base for families, such as ourselves. The house has got lots of nice homemade touches and there are lots of equipment, toys, games, books and beach bits provided, so you don't have to pack lots of extra bits. The bedrooms are light, airy and comfortable, the lounge is cosy with fireplace and lit up stone wall and big inviting sofa and there is a big dining room table to get everyone together for meal times. The garden is small and beautifully done and all the plants, which are a novelty for a South Easterners, like u was a joy to be around. We had a BBQ one night with the provided gas BBQ and it was so quiet despite the road out front. There were flowers in the field opposite and views in the distance of the mining chimneys and the shimmering reflections of the sea. There is parking for 2 vehicles out back, tight, but if you confident then you can fit a LWB VW Tansporter in both spaces. St Just is about 15 minutes walk away in one direction where we made regular use of the Co-op and Moomaid of Zennor for Coffee and Ice Cream. There are plenty of gallerys and craft shops to peruse and a very interesting and historic church and medieval amphitheatre. 15 minutes walk in the other direction takes you to Cape Cornwall and St Priests Cove, where there is a small rocky cove for rock pooling, swimming, a small swimming pool at low tide and a chance to watch the fisherman hauling their boats up the steep slipway with land rovers. Plenty for the kids to explore and there is a small cafe in the NT car park for drinks and Ice Cream. There is plenty of heritage in the area from the mining and ample opportunity to hop onto the gorgeous coastal path to explore some of the old mine buildings, paths and landscaped. NW of the cottage is NT Botallack, as used in scenes of Poldark with a great cafe with generous cake offerings and really good coffee. Nearby Sennen beach is spectacular, but if you want something quieter, then Gwynver is highly recommended. It is a steep stepped 15min walk down but waves break in 2 directions over a central sand bar and the colour of the water is a beatiful aquamarine. Withing 1 hour you can get to St Ives, St Micheal's Mount, Porthcurno beach, Minack Theatre, Pedn Vounder beach, Mousehole, lots of sub tropical coastal type gardens, plus miles and miles of coastal path and beautiful coves. We very much enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to return to tick off some more things in the area.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It’s great to hear that you like the house and the area as much as we do. We do hope you will be back soon! Jane Property Owner

  • "We have just spent two weeks staying in Sea Holly cottage in St Just in the far west of Cornwall and what a beautiful holiday let it is."

There was only two of us and two dogs but the cottage is very spacious and would easily accommodate more. It has been tastefully modernised but sympathetic with the age of the property with lovely artwork and personal touches by the owners. The let is very well equipped, beds very comfortable and the bonus of a parking spot right outside which is very rare for Cornwall. There is also a very pretty front garden well maintained with chairs and table to sit and enjoy the Cornish sunshine. The position of the cottage means it is only a short walk, around 10 minutes, in to St Just with it’s many amenities or go the other way and it’s a stunning walk through fields down to Cape Cornwall where the views are amazing and The Little Wonder Cafe awaits with delicious drinks and homemade cake and savoury snacks. All in all it has just what you want from a holiday cottage and I hope that we come back in the future to stay again.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! We are glad you enjoyed your time at Sea Holly and we hope you can come back soon. Property Owner

  • "What a stunning cottage."

In a fabulous location, really beautifully restored and full of everything you could possibly need. We were three adults and three children and everyone had the best time. We have stayed in and around St Just many times over the years, but Sea Holly will now be our first port of call next time we visit.

The kitchen is very well equipped and the cottage nicely furnished. It had absolutely everything we needed. Location is perfect with the town a short walk away and Cape Cornwall a short stroll from the front door. We had the best week !!

ST JUST

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
