  • "Photo of inside the cottage is different to what it actually is Maintenance ..."

Photo of inside the cottage is different to what it actually is Maintenance could be improved IE outside drain from kitchen overflows onto path , broken hinge in porch window broken , DVD player doesn’t work Storage heaters in lounge and bedroom very poor and complex controls for some people ,there is one portable heater in the lounge as a backup No conversation on arrival from the owner about points of interest in the area or nearest shops , no full freeview tv programming very few channels Nice views from lounge overall, cottage would benefit from updating

Thank you for your feedback. We have since arranged for updated photos to be taken at the property. The drain problem was caused by leaves blocking the drain cover which is cleared regularly. We are aware of the broken latch, which will be repaired by the installers at the end of the season. The DVD player was found to be in good working order along with access to several channels on Freeview. In reference to the heating, this was set at 21c in the lounge (where there is an electric wood burner for additional heating). The bedroom was set at 18c both temperatures could have been altered manually by using the dial. There was also an electric convector heater for added heating in the property. Area information is provided in the Cottage write up, with plenty of pamphlets and a book on the local area. The cottage was updated with some new furniture at the beginning of the season with comfort in mind, and amply supplied with utensils and complementary items. We are pleased you enjoyed the views. • "We booked the Quillet after reading the feedback and we’re so glad we did."

Mrs North is a delight and very helpful, the setting is beautiful, the cottage itself is clean, tidy and with the most wonderful views, we had a stunning sunset on our first night. We also appreciated the unexpected welcome pack of Cornish tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. The local shop, bus stop and pub are just a ten minute walk away, Pendeen lighthouse is a 15-20 minute walk, or a couple of minutes by car, where we spent an hour each teatime enjoying the views (with a pasty!). It’s a wonderful base to explore the local area by car, Penzance is lovely for a stroll and to buy anything you need, and if you want to visit Newlyn, park in Penzance and walk along the front, it’s that close. We enjoyed our holiday so much that we were only 4 days in when we booked next year’s stay!

  • "The cottage is extremely well situated, near the coast with views of the sea, 10 minutes on foot from a village shop and bus routes to Land's End, St Ives, Penzance (so avoiding parking problems at these popular sites)."

Although on a farm near other houses, the cottage and garden are not overlooked and feel nice and private. The owner was helpful and we had everything we needed for a very pleasant fortnight's stay.

  • "There was no picture of the outside of the bungalow so wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a perfectly pleasant place to stay."

The bed was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped but not over stuffed with extra mugs, glasses etc. Which left plenty of space for groceries. Plenty of hot water, shower was fine. The garden was secluded and the surrounding shrubs provided a wind break. The views and surrounding countryside were exceptional. The walk to the village was easy. The footpath to the beach was not for the faint hearted but we managed it and it was stunning and very clean. The mine museum closes on a Friday and Saturday. The host was very friendly. The local pub was pleasant, we didn't eat there but the beer was good. We would love to return soon.

  • "The cottage had everything we needed and was good value for money."

We were very grateful for the additional electric heaters and blankets provided as the night storage heaters didn't provide enough warmth. It was a good base for birdwatching, beautiful scenery and looking at Ancient stones etc. It would have been useful to know which rubbish can be recycled as each county is different.

It's like our second home! I cry when I arrive and when it's time to go home! It's perfect - so quiet, so much light in the lounge, stunning views, only a 15 minute drive to 3 major supermarkets, a 30 minute walk to the breathtaking Portheras cove with its crashing waves and even when we had a power cut on the Thursday evening, Mrs North was straight on the phone to the electricity company and offered us candles! Extremely peaceful and quiet with fabulous views. Just perfect after the noise and bustle of London's Eastend. Just a 20 min drive from Sennen Cove Beach and not far from Penzance and all the big stores. Lovely countryside, great pub with restaurants, St Ives easily accessible, just park in St Erth station carpark and get the short hop train into St Ives, the beach beneath the station is great. Visit the Geevor mine and the Pendeen lighthouse. The Spar in Pendeen sells newspapers and stocks the essentials.
