  • "The only downside is having to bring own bedlinen and towels."

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. We do understand your point about linen provision and would like to assure you that we monitor all feedback very carefully. However - on balance - we continue to conclude that the majority of guests still prefer to bring their own linen rather than having the not insubstantial cost of linen hire incorporated into the rental price and hope you will understand that this is a difficult judgement for us to make given the need to remain competitive in the current economic climate. Thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner

Location was perfect for us, the bakers and pubs nearby. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. We appreciated the information packs and had a few trips based on the recommendations suggested. We hope to return. Thank you

  • "This is our second visit to Puffin Cottage."

As we mentioned last year, the small fridge in the kitchen is totally inadequate for six people. There is room for a second fridge. Please dear owner, we love coming to stay in your property, do consider this request.

Thank you for your feedback - we're so pleased you love staying in Puffin Cottage. We've checked your review from last year but could see no specific comments, just a 5 star rating (for which we thank you). Whilst your feedback is appreciated, this is the first time we've ever received comment about fridge capacity and - having recently installed a new fridge (alongside the separate integrated freezer) - there is I'm afraid no plan to amend kitchen equipment / layout from that described / seen on the website, which is similar to that typically available in holiday properties of this size. • "The upstairs bathroom toilet became unusable after the first day as it blocked quickly after a couple of uses and had to use the plunger to unblock and drain."

We did not feel the need to contact at the time as fortunately all other bathrooms in good working order. We had a great stay, the cottage and garden was spacious, ample parking and clean. The information provided was useful, we had great fun exploring the area, surfing and crabbing. Downside considering the cost was bringing/organising our own linen as making beds on holiday as a parent is no fun but wasn’t too bad really and seems a lot of holiday let’s operate in a similar way, but was a first for me. We would recommend and return so thank you !

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. Thankfully the loo was not more of an issue for you but we would have been happy to sort if needed! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "'Puffin cottage is in a lovely location and the views are beautiful."

Whilst the cottage was nice, it was not well equipped or particularly clean. There were cobwebs, the main bedroom shower needs resealing, thoroughly cleaning and a new door. There is an obvious ant problem and the patio was unpleasant to sit on'.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused. Your comments have been passed to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays and the owner. Since your stay the maintenance team have replaced the shower sealant and the shower door is fully functioning. We have put several ant traps down and are sorry your experience of the patio was affected by this during the hottest week of the year - we wish you had got in touch during your stay so we could have helped ! All equipment in the property is as described on the website (including new SMART TV, new fridge, microwave & toaster etc.) and the errant cobwebs have been dealt with. Thanks again for your feedback, John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "There was an issue with ants - this was resolved once I requested some ant powder."

The house needed a deep clean - very ancient cobwebs everywhere and greasy kitchen cupboards. The duvets were stained and very old. Positive things - beautiful conservatory and garden. Ideal location.

  • "We left a day early due to illness of a family member at home."

We did inform your office of our early departure. However a number of flies/Bluebottle's appeared the day before we left. They were quite prolific on the evening before our departure, seemingly coming from the loft at the top of the landing. During our journey home we contacted the office again to inform them of the problem. We also let them know about a problem with the wheely bin (no wheels). I must say however that the property in itself was fine and the response from John Bray staff was very good. I would be happy to re-book the property again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear you had to depart early, and that you encountered some maintenance issues. Thank you for making us aware of these, the flies are a seasonal and locational issue but we will look into some fly traps. We will also look to replace the bin. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We had an enjoyable stay, the property is well located for Pityme inn which serves great food and a short walk to the shops in the centre of Rock."

The property is tired, in need of some refurbishment and there were a number of cobwebs all around the property. The carpets could also do with a deep clean. During our stay the washing machine broke, but John Brays were very quick at arranging a replacement. The super fast broadband at the property is excellent as is the smart TV with Netflix, iPlayer all built in.

  • "Puffin cottage is well located for the shops, pub, restaurant and trips out."

It is comfortable and provides pretty much all you need for a self catering break. It is a shame that linen and towels are not provided, this is the first place we have been where they are not although it was made clear in the cottage description before we booked. Cleaning was ok but could be improved, there were crumbs under the toaster, dust and bits under the microwave and cobwebs on several of the windows. We would visit again but only after checking out alternatives.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We have passed on your comments regarding cleanliness to our housekeeping team. We would love to welcome you back to north Cornwall soon! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner
