Good comms from owners and nice 'welcome pack,. Lovely open-plan main room with great views. Could imagine parking during the summer would be grim but recommended!

Thank you for your positive comments, we are glad you enjoyed staying at Headland View. Town parking can sometimes be difficult but the car park opposite helps to alleviate the issue. Property Owner

  • "Property was excellent and we had a great stay."

Everything was very clean and well organized. Sofa and beds were comfy. Plenty of space for us all to function in the kitchen and living area. Lighting was fantastic. The step in the bathroom was a challenge for all. Would be good to include a streaming device eg Amazon firestick, Google chrome or smart tv for families to stream their own services. An extra towel per person for the week would be appreciated. Blackout blinds/shades in bedrooms would help keep the rooms cooler… a shade for the French doors to keep sun out of the eyes at dinner would help too. Thank you for providing a couple washing tablets for the dishwasher and washing machine as well as basics like paper towel and cling film/foil. The croissants, Prosecco, and coffee etc were a very nice addition. Thank you. The views were amazing and the proximity to the playground fantastic. Great to be so walkable into town for dinner, shopping and obviously the beach!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we note the points you have made. We are pleased that your stay with us was an enjoyable one Property Owner

We were amazed at the quality of the accommodation and the clever conversion of a beautiful house into 3 very separate apartments. It was very well equipped, the welcome pack was clear and useful the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Thank you Helen and Anthony!

Thank you for your time in completing feedback to us, we truly appreciate your very positive comments. We have put a huge amount of time and work into converting our family home and have made every effort to ensure that our guests have all they need for a relaxing stay with us. • "Headland View is a lovely top floor apartment, really nice interior design, great views and super clean."

So why only two stars? Because one of the bedrooms wasn´t useable due to seagulls nesting on top of the flat bedroom roof. The constant noise of the seagull chicks running around the roof and picking with their beaks at everything was keeping us from getting nearly any sleep at all. 'Latest' in the morning they woke us was 3am ... And then the noise didn´t stop for hours. Went home after a week exhausted and with a significant lack of sleep. Unfortunately neither the owner nor Sykes Cottages were any helpful at all. They did respond really friendly to our complain and checked out everything, but then nothing. Not even an apologies or any kind of compensation for our troubles. Therefore only two stars and our decision, never to book a top floor apartment again, whatever the view ...

Firstly, we do apologise that your stay was not as we would wish it to be. After our conversation first thing Saturday morning we did investigate for you immediately and contacted you to advise a Seagull was seen but there was no visibility of a nest due to lack of access to the roof top. As your reply was terse, we thought it best to communicate through CCH. We advised them Saturday that we would be happy to relocate you to another apartment in the property if you so wished in order to overcome your concerns. As you did not respond to any of their attempts to contact you, we assumed there were no further issues. We again contacted CCH first thing Sunday morning and they advised that they had still not received any communication from you. Had you responded your vacation may have been better for you. We apologise that our proximity to the beautiful Cornish coast was, for you, detrimental. Property Owner

The view from the balcony over the golf course and Fistral beach was beautiful. The apartment was lovely throughout and well equipped, our only ask would be a high chair. We would happily stay again.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are happy that you enjoyed your time with us, we try to ensure that you can relax during your stay. The weather was fabulous and certainly showed Newquay at its very best. Property Owner

  • "The Apartment (Headland View) was such an amazing place to stay!"

With the two bathrooms really luxurious. I would recommend a stay for a family too. There is a children playground directly opposite the building - the main beach is directly behind the golf court - and the center of Newquay is reachable in a 10 minutes walk (with some crowd but also a lot of choices for lovely restaurants - even vegan ones - and: a shop with organic food!). Helen was such a kind host - many thanks once more! Helga from Austria

We are happy your enjoyed your time with us and that the weather showed Newquay off to its best. The apartment was immaculate when you left and this was very much appreciated. Maybe we will see you again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely couple who owned this apartment, who were very attentive and friendly, had a small issue with the bath that they jumped on very quickly an had fixed the next day."

Loved the property, location was great (10min walk to Fistral Beach, Sea Spray Cafe side), views were amazing and very peaceful of an evening on the balcony). Handily if you have young children a park is immedaietly opposite the apartment as you look over to the ocean. Facilities i.e. fridge/oven etc were all excellent. and our hosts left a supplier of milk, breads, washing liquid and even a bottle of prosecco which was a lovely and much apprecaited touch. Our only constructive feedback would be that the double bed and sofas are not particularly comfortable which nothing could be done about it during our stay so we didn't raise at the time, but would like to pass on our thoughts to make this a really excellent stay these could be upgraded, the bed as the more urgent priority as half your stay you are using this item for 8hrs at a time.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your stay at Headland View. We have spoken with the owners regarding the points you raised regarding the bed and sofa. The owners did infract have a spare mattress, therefore had you contacted us we could have had the mattress replaced for the remainder of your stay! Your comments have been taken on board and the mattress has now been changed to ensure all future guests have the best nights sleep, the sofa will be looked at at the end of the season with a view to being changed if needs be. Despite the points mentioned we are pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back the The Westcountry in the future. Property Owner
