  • "Marked down due to cleanliness, had to unblock the shower trays a previous guest towel was left in box under one of the sinks."

The boiler also had to be reported for losing pressure, after 2 maintenance visits, pressure dropped more slowly, but boiler leaked over washing machine which we dealt with by putting a saucepan under it. The shower in one room upstairs hose spurts out at the shower head fitting, This is premium property we expect better on maintenance front. The view was amazing and access to the SPA was very good too.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback, we are glad our Property Management team were on hand so promptly out of hours to help you with the issues which occurred. All maintenance issues are fedback to the owner of the property and we will ensure these are sorted asap. The apartments have the most fantastic views and are in a brilliant location, we do hope you had a fantastic holiday and hope to welcome you back to the area soon. • "The property was lovely and clean, the size and aspects of the room were as expected on arrival."

We enjoyed our stay. We had a toddler and requested a cot which was not easily available (luckily we brought our own). We noticed a stair gate in the cupboard too. There were no towels set out for our child either. I would have liked more information and support for a child (what will be available vs what we need to bring). The apartment is dog friendly and was great for us. An option to pay £20-30 and have some more basics stocked would be great. The afternoon tea you used to offer was a great perk after a long drive. The late arrival and early exit is manageable but not desirable.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are please to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The towels are worked out on how many people the property sleeps, it is a sleeps 6 property therefore 6 sets of towels are included, we hope you understand. Unfortunately, due to Ferrell’s Bakery closing the afternoon tea had to be stopped and replaced with biscuits, but we appreciate your feedback, and it has all been taken on board. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Excellent facilities and position, issues with cleanliness of property."

Thick dirt in the folds of the sofa, coffee spilt on shelf of cupboard above sink, liquid in tea pot, food stuck to the high chair seat. Had problem with the bollard lock as the instructions do not inform you to reset to four zeros before entering the code. We were informed of the broken blind before arrival for which we are thankful. Would recommend the property but the cleaning needs to improve. Carbis Bay holiday failed to help when we initially rang about the bollard lock and told us it was the hotels responsibility, which it obviously isn’t.

Dear Mr West, We appreciate you taking the time to submit your feedback. Please be assured we will pass your feedback on to the housekeeper and we apologise for the points you identified. We will take into consideration your findings in regard to the bollard, and we will update the collection details accordingly. Sorry that we couldn't help you with the bollard, we are unsure who you spoke to, although its not the hotels responsibility, they are normally very helpful for issues with the car park. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. Kind Regards, Owner Relations, Carbis Bay Holidays Property Owner

  • "There were a few minor issues which we tried to contact you about but each time we called, we were put on hold and then cut off so we gave up trying to reach you."

These included: Several patches of very slippy wooden floor that resulted in two falls No shelves in the oven No coffee pods for the Nespresso machine (the ones left were for a different machine and the wrong size) No cable to charge the controllers for the Playstation Dirty socks left in one of the upstairs bathrooms Several pairs of clean socks left in the downstairs bedroom from a previous occupant

The views from the apartment are simply stunning as it looks directly down to Porthminster Beach, and across to the town. At night when the lights come on in the town it is simply magical. The penthouse is very spacious ,modern and well equipped. It was a real bonus having access to the pool and sauna in the hotel next door. We’ll definitely be back!"

Sleeping six, plus an infant, this pet friendly escape offers the ultimate base for the whole family, including the four-legged members, to gather for a holiday to St Ives. A spacious open plan living area showcases stunning views across the bay to St Ives harbour and island, through floor to ceiling windows and doors, so you can enjoy this wonderful Cornish vista while cooking, dining, or relaxing and direct access to a private seaward south facing balcony, slide them open and breathe in the fresh sea air, let the natural light flood in and light up the walnut flooring, laid throughout this bright and airy space, styled with contemporary furnishings to comfortably seat six including a large modular sofa, arranged with coffee table for guests to enjoy the views, or the 40” Panasonic HD smart television, alternatively step onto your large private decked area, with a glass of wine and soak up the breath-taking views from the harbour across the bay to Gwithian.

The kitchen/diner is positioned within the open plan living space to enjoy its superb sea views, ideal for entertaining and socialising with guests when preparing meals, a dining table with seating to comfortably seat six offers a fabulous setting for dining in, alternatively the balcony offers an alfresco option, a large breakfast bar with three leather bar stools is a great spot to sit and chat to the chef, the contemporary kitchen with soft close units, black granite worktops and splash backs is well-appointed with everything needed for your stay, a utility cupboard in the hallway houses a washer/dryer. A separate den, located off the ground floor hallway, offers an intimate space to escape for some time away from the group, there is a 32″ television and guests old and young will enjoy gaming on the PS3 with dual controllers.

Choose from three comfortable super-king sized bedrooms, two on the top floor and one ground floor room, the first both benefit from a private en-suite, and the latter is conveniently next to the family bathroom, the master, seaward facing, top floor, room enjoys views of the town and beach through galleried windows and a fabulous double ended scallop freestanding bath to relax in, this room, along with the ground floor one, is fitted with a super-king bed as standard, which can be arranged as a twin on request, all are well presented with sumptuously dressed beds in Egyptian Cotton and offer ample storage space.

The family bathroom, located off the hallway next to the ground floor bedroom, offers a great space to enjoy a refreshing rainfall shower after coming off the beach. Positioned above Porthminster Beach and benefiting from stunning views across St Ives Bay to St Ives harbour, town and island, the private seaward facing terrace, accessed from the living area, is idyllic for dining alfresco or enjoying drinks in the sun, enjoy a seat at the rattan table with four matching chairs, or lie back on either of the two rattan sun loungers and make the most of the fresh Cornish air and sun. A Michelin Plate restaurant is set right on the beach below, Porthminster Beach Café is perfect if you love dining out and foodies will find St Ives plethora of cafes and restaurants, supplied with fresh sea food daily via its working harbour, a joy, if you love art then browse the local galleries and boutiques dotted along its pretty cobbled streets, or view an exhibition at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, to see how the town has inspired many famous artists.

Many of St Ives larger beaches have dog restrictions, due to their award-winning crystal-clear waters, so to enjoy a wonderful stretch of sandy beach with your pooch, venture out along the South West Coast Path, which heads to Zenor and the year-round pet friendly Porthkidney Beach in the other direction, for a relaxing return journey hop aboard the scenic railway, this follows a similar route to the cliffside walk, with stunning sea views all the way.

For an exciting day out head to the rugged North Cornish coast to search for where King Arthur was conceived, according to Legend, at Tintagel Castle, walk high above a tropical rainforest on a canopy walk way, suspended above trees, at the Eden Project, near St Austell or venture out on a man-made causeway of granite setts, at low tide, to the majestic St Michaels Mount, near Penzance, the kids will love the rides at Flambards in Helston, or Camel Creek Adventure Park, near Wadebridge, or feeding the animals at Paradise Park near Hayle. Well situated to enjoy all that St Ives has to offer, with an idyllic setting above one of its most popular beaches, our view of Porthminster View, is its one you’ll want to share with loved ones again and again.
