  • "Fabulous property, beautifully presented."

The reason for dropping down on facilities and maintenance was due to the poor WiFi. The other issue is with the timing of the heating. We found that during the night it would be red hot in the rooms. WiFi needs to improve significantly, you could not stream a programme properly on Netflix.

Thank you for your kind review, we are so glad to hear you had such an enjoyable holiday and thank you for providing helpful feedback regarding the WIFI, we will take this into consideration. We hope you will stay with us again in the future. For any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Kind regards, Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "Great apartment (we've stayed a few times, but not since 2018)."

The bathroom (shower) fixings and drains need descaling/replacing and the downstairs shower drain needs unblocking (unless it's just a slow drainer?!). Kitchen cupboards were less tidy than we were used to back in 2018 (the pots and pans just thrown about in any drawer), the utensils are OK, needs a new frying pan. Kitchen tap is installed at a wonky 45 degrees, guess it's OK but might not last much longer. The second sofa's electronic connection was not connected which was a but odd. The lift was broke when we arrived but once reported it was fixed inside of a day. Those were the niggles... everything else fantastic, very comfy, very clean, very happy!

We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback after your stay. We are please to see that you were very happy during your stay and found nearly everything to be fantastic. We are glad that the team was quick to fix the lift after you reported this as not working. We shall look into the points you have raised for future improvements. The property is now starting to show its age with a few odd marks here and there Main one is if you supply a hoover - empty it as I had to empty over 4kg of crud and hair and the smell was absolutely disgusting this hoover needs to be binned There’s NO SKY TV there’s an Apple box that’s just pointless and didn’t work The settee is disgusting it’s well overdue a leather clean as it’s no longer white it yellow and brown in places Floors are still dirty when we arrived easy to see as the mop that’s there for your use is black For the £3000 this is a real shame it’s no longer 5* more like 3*

Thank you for taking time to give us feedback after your stay. We shall look into the points you have raised to improve going forwards. We are sorry that you are disappointed there is no Sky TV, this property is advertised to have Freeview and an iPod docking station as part of the entertainment provided. • "Amazing Accommodation with Breathtaking Views July 2024."

We have just returned from an unforgettable stay in this stunning 3-bedroom apartment in St Ives. Overlooking Porthminster Beach and towards the Harbour, the views were truly spectacular. The apartment was spacious and beautifully furnished, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a Nespresso coffee machine that guaranteed the best start to every day. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had perfect nights' sleep. Plenty of fresh towels were laid out for our use, and the delightful welcome gifts added a special touch to our arrival. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the main town, making it easy to explore and enjoy all that St Ives has to offer including all the restaurants and bars, and a couple of minutes walk to the most idyllic beach and café. The secure parking space for the week was a godsend. Can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

  • "After 6 years of visiting the apartment it now needs some sprucing up, appliances are old the rug is ready to to walk out cushions are dirty the shower units need an upgrade."

Kitchen tap is ready to fall off. No hot water so need to reset boiler. The windows are so filthy I now take to cleaning them so we can see the view. Welcome pack is now just a bag with sachets of coffee & sugar and a small bottle of milk, what happened to the welcome local produce ie: Apple juice, biscuits, doggy treats. Just feel disappointed the standards have gone out of the window. Come on owners put some love and attention back into the apartment. I hope you get to read this and would like a response.

Dear Julie We have not been able to visit our property for a year and rely on our agent to let us know of any issues or things that need replacing and updating. However, we accept we have taken our eye off the ball and will now rectify the issues as soon as we can. Update: The boiler has been replaced as have many other items. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful property my grandchildren loved the space the upstairs was very stuffy no way any fresh air windows and french doors were locked so if there was a fire downstairs we had no chance of escape."

Plus the nets in the master bedroom was stained and hanging of the hooks over all we loved it apart from the worry at bed time.

Dear Gail Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately the key to the French doors was hidden on the top of the wardrobe by a guest and only recently discovered. However, in the meantime, we have changed the lock and added a turn lock so this should not happen again. For fresh air the Velux windows can be opened and the net curtains replaced. Property Owner

  • "Hi, this apartment, overall, was wonderful for our family Christmas, including our Jack Russell terrier…."

The furnishings & equipment were excellent…just the odd picky niggle, however the view made up for any odd niggle. The position in relation to the town was fantastic…just a short walk, as was the access to the beach for early morning dog walking. Yes the small up stairs bedroom would benefit from a TV… Any queries we had were answered quickly, with 3 couples from different parts of the World, we could have done with a second parking space, but as we were only there for 4 nights, then the parking opposite wasn’t too expensive. Thank you very much, would certainly like to stay there again.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted to hear you found Porthminster View wonderful for your family Christmas, including your Jack Russell terrier. • "An honest review."

A beautiful spacious apartment with spectacular views and comfortable beds. Great position, not far into town. Welcome gifts were a lovely touch. There seemed to be a lack of light bulbs in the lights and also a smashed bulb on lamp in living area when we arrived. Certain areas could have been cleaned better, our shower needed some attention, looking black in areas and tired. Sofa’s need to be moved and cleaned underneath, lots of dirt and dust. external cladding and upstairs windows were also not clean when we arrived. We had no tv or hairdryer in our room upstairs but the others did? Perhaps put a small tv on top of wardrobe? In my opinion long dressing mirrors should be a must in all of the bedrooms and would be handy to have extra sockets next to them, struggled to get my hairdryer to reach the only mirror in my room upstairs. Having said this it’s a great place to stay and would definitely stay again but with the premium price you pay you would expect all these tweaks to be addressed to make it the best it can be.

  • "The property was lovely and clean, the size and aspects of the room were as expected on arrival."

We enjoyed our stay. We had a toddler and requested a cot which was not easily available (luckily we brought our own). We noticed a stair gate in the cupboard too. There were no towels set out for our child either. I would have liked more information and support for a child (what will be available vs what we need to bring). The apartment is dog friendly and was great for us. An option to pay £20-30 and have some more basics stocked would be great. The afternoon tea you used to offer was a great perk after a long drive. The late arrival and early exit is manageable but not desirable.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are please to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The towels are worked out on how many people the property sleeps, it is a sleeps 6 property therefore 6 sets of towels are included, we hope you understand. Unfortunately, due to Ferrell’s Bakery closing the afternoon tea had to be stopped and replaced with biscuits, but we appreciate your feedback, and it has all been taken on board. Thick dirt in the folds of the sofa, coffee spilt on shelf of cupboard above sink, liquid in tea pot, food stuck to the high chair seat. Had problem with the bollard lock as the instructions do not inform you to reset to four zeros before entering the code. We were informed of the broken blind before arrival for which we are thankful. Would recommend the property but the cleaning needs to improve. Carbis Bay holiday failed to help when we initially rang about the bollard lock and told us it was the hotels responsibility, which it obviously isn’t.

Dear Mr West, We appreciate you taking the time to submit your feedback. Please be assured we will pass your feedback on to the housekeeper and we apologise for the points you identified. We will take into consideration your findings in regard to the bollard, and we will update the collection details accordingly. The kitchen/diner is positioned within the open plan living space to enjoy its superb sea views, ideal for entertaining and socialising with guests when preparing meals, a dining table with seating to comfortably seat six offers a fabulous setting for dining in, alternatively the balcony offers an alfresco option, a large breakfast bar with three leather bar stools is a great spot to sit and chat to the chef, the contemporary kitchen with soft close units, black granite worktops and splash backs is well-appointed with everything needed for your stay, a utility cupboard in the hallway houses a washer/dryer. A separate den, located off the ground floor hallway, offers an intimate space to escape for some time away from the group, there is a 32″ television and guests old and young will enjoy gaming on the PS3 with dual controllers.

Choose from three comfortable super-king sized bedrooms, two on the top floor and one ground floor room, the first both benefit from a private en-suite, and the latter is conveniently next to the family bathroom, the master, seaward facing, top floor, room enjoys views of the town and beach through galleried windows and a fabulous double ended scallop freestanding bath to relax in, this room, along with the ground floor one, is fitted with a super-king bed as standard, which can be arranged as a twin on request, all are well presented with sumptuously dressed beds in Egyptian Cotton and offer ample storage space.

The family bathroom, located off the hallway next to the ground floor bedroom, offers a great space to enjoy a refreshing rainfall shower after coming off the beach. Positioned above Porthminster Beach and benefiting from stunning views across St Ives Bay to St Ives harbour, town and island, the private seaward facing terrace, accessed from the living area, is idyllic for dining alfresco or enjoying drinks in the sun, enjoy a seat at the rattan table with four matching chairs, or lie back on either of the two rattan sun loungers and make the most of the fresh Cornish air and sun. A Michelin Plate restaurant is set right on the beach below, Porthminster Beach Café is perfect if you love dining out and foodies will find St Ives plethora of cafes and restaurants, supplied with fresh sea food daily via its working harbour, a joy, if you love art then browse the local galleries and boutiques dotted along its pretty cobbled streets, or view an exhibition at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, to see how the town has inspired many famous artists.

Many of St Ives larger beaches have dog restrictions, due to their award-winning crystal-clear waters, so to enjoy a wonderful stretch of sandy beach with your pooch, venture out along the South West Coast Path, which heads to Zenor and the year-round pet friendly Porthkidney Beach in the other direction, for a relaxing return journey hop aboard the scenic railway, this follows a similar route to the cliffside walk, with stunning sea views all the way.

For an exciting day out head to the rugged North Cornish coast to search for where King Arthur was conceived, according to Legend, at Tintagel Castle, walk high above a tropical rainforest on a canopy walk way, suspended above trees, at the Eden Project, near St Austell or venture out on a man-made causeway of granite setts, at low tide, to the majestic St Michaels Mount, near Penzance, the kids will love the rides at Flambards in Helston, or Camel Creek Adventure Park, near Wadebridge, or feeding the animals at Paradise Park near Hayle. Well situated to enjoy all that St Ives has to offer, with an idyllic setting above one of its most popular beaches, our view of Porthminster View, is its one you’ll want to share with loved ones again and again.
