  • "A beautiful, spacious, fairly well maintained property on a lovely holiday resort with lots of activities to hand."

Spectacular views with all the home comforts and more. We had a couple of issues during our stay with a slightly broken dining chair (which we couldn’t use) and a grill handle which just came off in my daughter’s hand. I love the property and location and have already booked up for next year however there is one ongoing problem to do with drainage which certainly needs resolving. When we first entered the property there was a strong smell of sewage which the cleaners tried to rectify, prior to our arrival, by fully opening windows. This offensive smell reoccurred however, a few times during our stay which spoilt an almost perfect stay.

Thank you for your lovely feedback and we are delighted that you have rebooked with us again next year! Thank you for letting us know about the breakages you discovered, I'm happy to report that these were repaired immediately that you made us aware. I would like to apologise for the issues you had with the drainage system, this is an external problem and the resort are working hard to fix it, there are crews on site this week and we're confident that will be the end of it. We will certainly ensure that this is resolved as quickly as possible. I'm very glad that this didn't spoil your enjoyment, and we look forward to welcoming you back next year. Property Owner

  • "The property is in a lovely location on the resort, with easy walking access to the resort pool, flow rider & bar."

The property was clean & welcoming with a fully stocked kitchen with everything you could need & a handy washing machine. Really useful having en-suite bedrooms upstairs and a family bathroom downstairs for the 2 bedrooms. Worked really well for us & will return. Thank you

  • "A lovely place to stay with lots of little extras that we didn’t expect which were a lovely gesture, thank you."

Only issue we had was the shower in the upstairs bathroom made a high pitched whistling sound whenever any water was run or the toilet was flushed in the downstairs bathroom. It didn’t affect us enough that we would put in a complaint however it was slightly annoying and it might be worth the owner checking it out. Would definitely hire this Lodge again it had everything and more that we were looking for for a holiday rental.

  • "First glances, the property was lovely - just as it was portrayed."

However, things started to go wrong almost immediately. I tried both contact numbers given to me as I had an issue with not being able to use the 'smart' TVs - the first number was unavailable, and I left a voicemail on the second number (Malcolm or Matthew?), requesting a call back, which I never got. So, for the whole holiday, we were only able to use the TVs as normal, terrestrial sets. Not a major thing, but the fact that no-one could be bothered to ring us back got me quite angry - and that's when the other faults started to raise their head (remember, one returned call would have sorted all of these issues). Below is a list, in no particular order: We were unable to use the gas hob – the safety lock had been engaged, but the knob to release it was broken off (it looked like this had been gone for some time, and that various attempts had been made to glue something to do it) – so, oven cooking only. There was an unpleasant smell in the property; on the day we arrived, a plumber gained access to replace something in the upstairs toilet, as he said the smell had been reported previously – this obviously didn’t fix it. Bird Poo – I know this is a major issue in the park, due to House Martins nesting in the eaves of the properties; however, I didn’t expect to have to ‘jump’ over the doorstep because it was covered in this stuff – there was nothing available to clean it with – I didn’t pay the sort of money charged, just to have to clean poo away every day, anyway. Finally, there was the outside décor; this property did not look like it had been painted for a while, and there was a lot of peeling paint. Also, there were broken boards on the panel at the front – one ripped off and lying on the ground, and 2 or 3 others hanging off.

Hi Robert I am very sorry to hear that you had some challenges on your visit to Sunbow, but delighted that you had a lovely week none the less. Neither I, my property manager, or the resort staff, reported receiving any calls from you during your stay, which is a great shame, as we are extremely quick to respond to any enquiries, as you can see in other reviews. I'm sorry to hear that you struggled with the televisions, both the upstairs and downstairs TVs have step by step instructions on the stands, they are equipped with Google cast and the largest TV has Netflix and Disney Plus for evenings in. I am always happy to talk guests through it if they get in touch. The gas hob also has detailed instructions at the property, the gas isolation switch on the hob has to be twisted into position before the hob will ignite, a standard safety feature that I or any member of the resort team would have been happy to talk you through if the instructions were confusing. The House Martins on the resort are a protected species, and as delightful as they are, they do sometimes make a mess, but we are forbidden by law from removing their nests. It is a brief seasonal problem and any mess is cleaned away on every property turnaround. We make every effort to keep disruption to a minimum and there is always a comprehensive range cleaning equipment in the property should you ever need it. As you know, the property is delivered immaculately clean for every guest and I can assure you that maintenance schedules are strictly adhered to. To keep disruption to guests and neighbours to a minimum, the exterior of the property is booked for decoration in the off season and will be freshly painted for your return visit. Thank you for your feedback, I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kind regards Owner Matt Property Owner

  • "We had a great family break at Sunbow with a few issues which we reported direct to the owner."

The main one was dealt with promptly and we were kept up-to-date with what was happening. The accommodation is large and offers different areas for use which suited us as a family. We were just a little disappointed that being the beginning of the season, the property decor looked a bit tired and in need of some TLC. A quick lick of paint and a double check round by the cleaners would be a good idea.

Hi Deborah We're delighted that you had a good time at Sunbow and in Cornwall. Issues can arise in any property and I was delighted that we could deal with them swiftly and without disruption, thank you for keeping us in the loop. We keep to a meticulous cleaning and decorating schedule, but as it's a noisy job, we've booked the exterior decoration for the off season. I look forward to inviting you back soon. • "We had a wonderful holiday."

The house is lovely and has plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children. The area is lovely too and although the weather could have been a bit better we did lots of nice things. It's easy to get around and we enjoyed Healeys cider farm, the Eden project, Padstow, Chapel Porth, and a day on the train to Looe. The kids enjoyed paddleboarding and a turn at the aqua park. We had a couple of small issues but the owner was very helpful and got them sorted out.

Hi Susan Thank you for the lovely feedback, we're thrilled that you enjoyed your time at Sunbow. It's a lovely house in a great location and it sounds like you made the most of it. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best wishes Owner Matt Property Owner

  • "This property was great."

Two couples one with mobility problems. So the downstairs bedroom and bathroom worked well. We also took our young springer spaniel and he was settled too. All Was Very clean, kitchen well stocked with most things you need for cooking. Sitting area downstairs good for daytime, upstairs used during the evening. We found the location enabled us to access local attractions on both coasts. A lovely relaxing break. We were very lucky with the too which helped! It would be helpful to have local information available, away resorts didn't give us their pack, but we collected one and left it behind, also a visitors book were recommendations could be left would be good. We loved birds of prey, which was just a few miles away. We had a lovely visit to Padstow Trerice national trust property was great, fabulous afternoon tea offer! Watergate beach was beautiful. We had a drink at the beach hut the food looked and smelt amazing, but booking is essential! St Austell as a place to visit us is rubbish but the beaches along that coast are beautiful we are told!

Property was beautiful with huge windows to let in the light! Morning yoga was amazing and the comfy sofas and giant bean bag for movie night just perfect. Site felt secure, amenities were great. Gene was on hand when I had a query too. First visit to Cornwall & the location was brilliant. Will definitely come back to Cornwall & to Sunbow. Only suggestion would be welcome book re local sights/things to do and general info but other than that no complaints!
