  • "The Bungalow was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and had an extremely pretty garden with seating area."

There was everything you could possibly need it was like home from home and even though it is on a housing estate it was so quiet and the neighbours were very friendly. We met Claire and Ian on arrival they were very nice and gave us a short tour and assured us if there were any problems they were just around the corner. They had left us a lovely goodie basket which was very thoughtful and even milk in the fridge. We would have no hesitation recommending this lovely place and would definitely be back when next in Cornwall.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed staying at Compass Point. We would love to see you again if you come to Cornwall. Kind regards Ian and Claire. Property Owner

  • "We cannot fault our stay at ‘Compass point’, the welcome from Ian and Claire was warm and inviting especially after a seven hour journey from Yorkshire."

The property was spotless and comfortable and the outside patio and garden was superb, as for the location the best way to describe it, is ‘it’s not far from ‘Everywhere’.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope you enjoyed your holiday. Kind regards Ian and Claire. Property Owner

The property

Compass Point, a well-positioned, two-bedroom bungalow rests on the outskirts of Camborne, Cornwall.

Located near the town's amenities, Compass Point offers a well-equipped base for a family getaway, inviting four guests to enjoy the Cornish coastline.

Benefit from a private driveway for one car, where you can unload your belongings, ready to make your way through the enclosed, pretty front garden.

Step indoors and venture to the heart of the home, the kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up brunch to be enjoyed at the breakfast bar, or prepare some of your favourite recipes, ready to gather in the formal dining room.

If the weather allows, be sure to take advantage of the private, rear patio area, dotted with beautiful blooms and exotic plants, an oasis for alfresco afternoons.

As day turns into night, cosy up in the sitting room, with the electric fire to light on cooler evenings, before sloping off to sleep in either the double or twin bedroom.

A sleek shower room is on offer, where you can prepare in style, ready to explore the local area, arriving to a selection of shops and eateries to ease your stay.

Spend the day at the coast, reaching the breath-taking Basset's Cove, where you can join the Carvannel Downs hiking trail, stopping off at the popular Portreath Beach, or reroute to discover the National Trust vantage point of Godrevy, for elevated, clifftop views.

Tehidy Country Park lies within easy reach of Compass Point, with miles of paths and 250 acres of woodland, making it the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall; there is also a lake, a café, and a picnic area, making for a lovely day out with family or friends.

With Hayle nearby, be sure to brush up your local knowledge at the Hayle Heritage Centre, entertain all of the family at Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall, bird watch from RSPB Hayle Estuary, or stroll along the golden sands of Hayle Beach, whilst St Agnes rests north and Praa Sands south.

Compass Point is a fabulous gateway to Cornwall.

About the location

CAMBORNE

Portreath 4.4 miles; Hayle 6.8 miles.

Camborne lies in the heart of a former mining community and was well known for its “Queen of Cornish Mines" - the Dolcoath copper and tin mine, the deepest in Cornwall. Today, Camborne is home to Heartlands, a community space covering 19 acres and scattered with remnants of the mining industry, providing a free space for visitors to explore the heritage of Cornwall, browse art and craft projects, stroll through the gardens and sit and share a picnic or enjoy lunch at the Red River Café. From Camborne centre you can follow an interesting town trail, or spend the afternoon in the museum before visiting the array of shops and pubs. A short drive from Camborne brings you to a wealth of sandy Cornish beaches including Portreath, Gwithian and Porthtowan. Camborne is ideal for exploring Land’s End, the Lizard Peninsula, Truro and the Eden Project, which are all easily accessible by car, ideal for a day trip.
