  • "Chris and Pam are perfect hosts of a lovely home from home."

Delightful log burner should the heating not be sufficient. Welcoming flowers, biscuits and a pint of milk for that needed brew after a long drive. Such a comfy place with everything you need and more. Don't hesitate in booking sunset as you will be delighted with it and with St Just as a Cornwall base...a village staying alive and keeping its local charm with a host of facilities.

  • "Well, what can I cay, absolutely amazing, I think this is the most clean and cosy house we have stayed in."

Pam and Chris are very friendly, off road parking was great as the roads are so tiny down there. The house itself was amazing stunning views, clean, cosy and equipped with everything you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and even loved popping the log fire on when we had rainy days. We would recommend this stay to all.

Where to start with this perfect bit of paradise nestled away in such a pretty village. Firstly let me start with the ending…..We will be back, and wouldn’t consider anywhere else when booking to go to Cornwall. Pam and Chris were always there if we needed them. We mentioned that we were low on fuel due to the fuel crisis and that Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons had all ran out. A couple of minutes later we had a knock on the door with a gallon of Diesel, they also found out when Tesco had a delivery so that we could fill up and it not compromise our holiday. They really go above and beyond for you. The tea tray with flowers, tea, shortbread etc and the milk in the fridge were really lovely touches. We cooked most nights and were amazed at how well equipped the kitchen was, it had everything we needed and so much more. The cottage was very clean, modern and light and the balcony which looks out to sea is just breath-taking. There are two double bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs meaning that 2 couples or a small family could stay here and would have their own space. A Short walk takes you into the centre of the very quant St Just, which has several Pubs, a Bakery (that does amazing Cornish pasties and cream teas), a CO-OP with cash point, a butchers and a few little shops. About 20mins away is Penzance where there is a large Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Tesco, and a few fast food outlets etc. We used Sunset as a base for doing coastal walks and sightseeing around the south west coast and it couldn’t be more perfectly located. Cape Cornwall is a walk away, Lands End, Sennen Bay, St Ives, St Michaels Mount and Porthcurno are less than 30mins drive away, and Lizard Point is less than an hour away. The Walks on the coastal path are absolutely stunning, we would also recommend the Seal Sanctuary, and visiting St Michaels Mount.

  • "Generous, helpful, and thoughtful hosts."

The cottage was lovely, modern decor, views wonderful, very comfortable and clean. Close to walks and town centre. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. There was no washing machine however our hosts did our washing for us. This was most helpful and appreciated given we have two young children. We would return to this cottage.

A very short stroll to St just square. Very welcoming flowers, home made scones and cream, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk on arrival. Only thing missing is a washing machine which is vital with a family of 4, but that's just me hating to take a suitcase full of dirty clothes home ! Would definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

It was in a perfect part of the town to use local amenities such as take aways, bakery’s,convenience stores. The hosts who lived next door were very welcoming without being intrusive, with a lovely welcome cake, with tea and milk as well.It really was like being home from home, with everything you could think of provided. The only thing missing was a washing machine as I hate bringing back suitcases of dirty washing, but that just my preference! If I was holidaying in this area again,I would bother looking elsewhere. This place is perfect.Thank you .

The owners were very friendly and helpful, providing a welcome cream tea on arrival. Cottage is a short walk from the centre of St Just. If anything, the picture in the listings did not do justice to the sea view from the lounge. Would certainly recommend the property.

Very clean. Newly refurbished I guess. Lovely views. There was a scones hamper, milk and bread for us in arrival. Thank you. Beautiful views of country side and the sea. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. I only wish there was a dishwasher. With 4 of us the washing got a bit too much at times. I would love to come back and stay in the cottage again in the future. The owners were very friendly and there was lots of local information available in the folder. There were plenty of toilet rolls and hand wash available.

  • "It was wonderful accommodation."

Nice and clean - felt like we were the first in the season. Cottage had a neat modern interior. Ideal for elderly relative as bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room all on one level. Other bedroom on lower ground with cloakroom perfect hideaway for second couple. Made full use of the stunning views (living room and downstairs bedroom) as weather exceedingly lively w/b 15/5/21 - never a dull moment ! Fine view of farmland, Longships Lighthouse and the sea. Managed a couple of BBQs on the terrace. Pam, Chris and Maggie excellent hosts, fun and informative. Many items we would normally take on a self-catering holiday were already provided. Flowers and chocolates, really nice touch. Thank-you from us all. Lesley and Richard Newman.

  • "A beautifully presented property in a superb location."

The views were breathtaking whatever the weather - it was amazing to be able to see Land's End very clearly as well as the Scilly Isles on some days. We also saw some lovely sunsets. Plus it was fun to watch a few small planes flying over (there's a small aerodrome at Land's End). Also there was a wonderful rural view out over the fields - all very relaxing. The property is ideally situated, being on the edge of the village it's in a quiet spot but only a very short walk to a good selection of shops and restaurants. We had some excellent meals and takeaways in St Just. The property was extremely comfortable in all aspects, nice to have two sofas and two bathrooms, it was very good value so a perfect break all in all.

The property is very comfortable and is a superb base for walking, painting and exploring the area, St Just itself being one of the attractions with its independent shops and outstanding pubs. We felt well cared for by our thoughtful and lovely hosts Pam and Chris receiving a warm welcome when we arrived.

  • "The house, which is attached to the owners', who were very welcoming, is fully self contained and was a delight."

It had everything we needed for our week. The only disappointment was that, due to chilly weather, we couldn't use the outside spaces more, of which there are three, including an upstairs balcony with lovely views over fields towards the sea and Longships lighthouse, a small seating area at the front and a very nice secluded area at the back with table for plein air dining.

  • "St Just has it all."

...within a short 15 minute stroll of cliff tops and the coastal path.....mines and Pendeen lighthouse and easy and interesting walk to the north or go south to Sennen and Lands End. All achievable easily and stunning views. St Just....4 friendly pubs, couple of chain convenience stores, deli, butchers, bakers and if you look hard enough you'd probably find the candle stick maker at the DIY shop!. Cafe's , chinese takeaway and great fish at Jeremys chippy! Sunset - comfy home from home. It has everything you need and more. great views to the sea. quiet spot . wood burner although the wall mounted heaters were easily sufficient even in January. To be honest it's hard to write something about that was pretty faultless! So would I recommend St Just in Penwith - yes without's central to anywhere at the tip of Cornwall. Even the Lizard was only a short 40 minute drive. So would I recommend Sunset - yes without question or hesitation. Don't even bother searching any further. just book it - you won't regret it one second. So thanks for a great stay and faultless hospitality.... and if back in the area then Sunset will be the only choice.

About the location

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
