Welcoming vases of flowers and bottle of wine. Nothing more I could of asked for. I would definitely consider going there again

The bathroom was the only area which was in need of an update. A comfortable bed and cosy sitting room.

  • "Beautiful little cottage."

We stayed here for 6 nights and found the cottage to have more or less everything we needed. Only a few things to note: the cottage could be a little cold and there is no way of putting the heating on (I believe it is operated from the main house), it wasn't a huge issue for us but I imagine could be an issue in colder months. There is an electric heater in the bedroom. There is a washing machine in the cottage but no dryer/clothes maiden to dry your clothes on. I would also suggest bringing some extra loo roll, dishwasher tablets and bin bags as there was not quite enough for our whole stay. Other than that I would say the cottage was well equipped. The Three Tuns Pub/Restaurant nearby was really nice and they have a quiz on Tuesdays, and a Spar shop round the corner too.

The apartment was comfortable, clean and nice and quiet. Direct access though the Churchyard straight into the village square, with its two pubs, was an unexpected bonus. St Keverne is well placed to walk the coastal path around the Lizard without too much driving. We hope to return.

Within easy driving distance of all points in the Lizard. Ideal for coast path walking. Highly recommended for quiet breaks for couples.

The fresh eggs and wine were a lovely thought upon arrival. The position of the accommodation meant it was very quiet and the local shops were well stocked. St Keverne is perfectly positioned for the many walks that radiate from the village.

Lovely garden and great views across the churchyard to Falmouth Bay. Quiet location but right next to the village square with its Spar shop, butchers and two good pubs. Lovely to meet 'Topsy' - what a lively and friendly young dog.

Also there didn't appear to be any facilities for recycling, which was surprising. The chairs in the snug were not very comfortable. Overall the accommodation was very nice.

She very kindly supplied new potatoes which were delicious. The cottage itself was just an extremely peaceful place and the massive garden to sit in was extremely welcome with various areas for sitting in to enjoy the sun at different times. Overall a gold star and 10 out of 10 all round.

Very comfortable with all you need for a holiday stay plus the wonderful garden. Had a good meal in the pub of St Keverne and the shop very nearby had all the essentials. Eggs from the owners chickens were left for us plus wine on our arrival. The owner was away for a few days of our stay so she encouraged us to ask the gardener for some of the home grown produce. Delicious !

  • "We had a lovely stay in Eden wing."

The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious. I would advise that if you are planning to use the dishwasher and/or the washing machine remember to bring your own tablets/detergent as there was none (not a problem for us but as they are there you may want to use them!). Upstairs is very comfortable with a little snug living room that has 2 comfortable chairs (different to the ones in the photos) and a lovely view over the churchyard. The bed is comfy and the bedroom is huge. Nice hot shower, the addition of a wash basin in the bedroom was welcome as the one in the bathroom is tiny. Ample parking too. It was lovely to have a holiday with our dog and not be presented with a list of do's and don'ts. I will say that for our elderly dog the stairs were a little treacherous so we had to carry him up and down them and block the top off with a case at night! Again, this wasn't a major issue for us but it could be useful to know. The garden is easily accessed and whenever we used it we had it to ourselves. It is really lovely, with far reaching views. The little patio area for the use of Eden Wing is sunny in the morning. It was a lovely touch to find fresh eggs from the hens (they were delicious), flowers from the garden and a bottle of wine in the fridge - thank you! St.Keverne is a lovely village and well placed for exploring the area - so many coves to discover. The Spar is handy and the pub very friendly. There's a good butchers too. Nearby Roskillys is well worth a visit, not just for the ice cream, there is a lovely cafe too. We had a delicious breakfast there on our final morning after leaving the village.

Used only as a base as we where out early each morning and back later. The property is old and only suitable for two persons. The bathroom and living room are small. We spent most of our time in the kitchen. The gardens we had full access to are lovely. Eden Is by far the most picturesque property in St Keverne.

When we arrived I saw it was right next door to a church and I was concerned about the noise of the bells, you can barely hear them at all, considering how close the cottage is to the church I was pleasantly surprised. If the house is quiet with no TV on and your in the living room part, you can hear them just about if you listen hard. It's absolutely lovely and would stay there again.

  • "We found this to be a lovely little cottage with the windows in the sitting room and the bedroom overlooking the medieval church and the beautiful Rectory garden."

The owner, Vicky, is lovely and very helpful - she even gifted us some eggs from the chicken which roam her garden. The shower room is small, but we found it more than adequate for our needs, also there is a hand basin in the bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped - even had a coffee maker, so we bought some Cornish Coffee from the well stocked village store. The village is surrounded by open field and beautiful countryside, which made it ideal for us and our 2 dogs. There is also a butchers, post office, newsagents and 2 pubs within a 1 minute walk from Eden House Wing. We ate out in both the pubs, which are dog friendly, and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the locals. There is also a restaurant in the village which, although we didn't go to, has a good reputation. For anyone who hasn't been to the area before, be aware that there are many single track roads, with passing places. We didn't have any problems, but some people may wish to program their Satnavs to avoid these where possible. St Keverne provides easy access to many popular tourist spots. We would definitely consider returning to Eden House Wing and St Keverne.

  • "This is our second booking with Sykes that we have had to complain about."

I choose Eden House Wing because of the photos and reviews, the photos do not represent what the property really is. I don't know if Sykes every check the property against the website photos but in some cases it is necessary. The property was damp and cold, oil radiators were provided, two in fact. The bathroom measures 3ft wide x 8ft long, a corridor in fact. it was dark and the shower was a little mildew. The living room was tiny, in fact the door would only open halfway because of the chairs. Its an old building, ground level of the kitchen about 4ft below the church graveyard. Its not what we were expecting from the website photos etc. I accept this property might appeal to some, but not to us, we went on the photos which were not correct.

There is a private patio for people staying in the Wing to use but Vicky is happy for you to sit in her beautiful garden, enjoy the bird song and take in the glorious views. Vicky is certainly very helpful and makes you feel at home, nothing is too much trouble. There's so much to do and see around the area, would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys walking and fantastic scenery.

  • "The accommodation was comfortable , a lovely little village."

Very friendly people. My only concern is that although it did not bother us the proximity of the tombstones in the adjoining graveyard may be a bit disconcerting for some. We used the sitting area in the bedroom with views of the garden when not using the tv.room. The 'shower room' was a very tight space, everything in one little area! The kitchen was well stocked but no condiments ie salt & pepper nor a 'welcome pack' although the owner did offer to buy in for us when we enquired. She did leave us some fresh eggs though which were very nice.

About the location

ST KEVERNE

Helston 12 miles.

On the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula, the pretty village of St Keverne, lying just 1.25 miles inland, is the focal point for this area, with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. From St Keverne, you can easily explore the natural and spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find walled fishing harbours, tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic clifftop walks along the South West Coastal path. Just north is the Helford River, a yachtsman's dream and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. A short walk takes you to Roskilly’s Farm, where you can tuck in to ice cream to die for. Further afield, visit Falmouth, with one of the world's largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and of course you cannot miss out on a trip to The National Maritime Museum.
