  • "The Retreat was a lovely quiet,comfortable place ."

It had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was very well equipped.the living room was spacious with a dining table and 2 comfy leather couches and nice tv.The bedroom has plenty of storage with a nice comfy bed.The garden is enclosed so pets can roam freely. The owners could'nt have been nicer,a bottle of wine and a packet of biscuits was left for us along with lots of bottled water. The Retreat was spotlessly clean and I can't recommend highly enough.

  • "Really nice well equipped quiet cottage convenient for access by rail to Looe and the rest of Cornwall."

Nice and warm in the winter and friendly owner next door who quickly fixed a small problem with the heating. Only improvement would be addition of an airer to dry clothes.

  • "Lovely and comfortable cottage in a tranquil and great setting."

The cottage is within easy access to a small but quiet, train stop/station, several areas and facilities such as a large Morrison supermarket with petrol/diesel, take outs and restaurants/pubs. The host are wonderful, helpful and kind too. Everything in the cottage is of good quality and very comfortable bed and furniture. We enjoyed our short break with our two dogs, hope to book another break in the near future. Thank you to the lovely owners of the cottage. Mew family/Hampshire

  • "The property was in quiet area, it was clean and comfortable."

Every thing was there that you needed. The downside was the Wi Fi , my wifes iPad kept cutting out and I was unable to connect my iPad or laptop to it.

  • "The cottage was in a handy place for us as we have family close by."

It would be good to have a welcome folder with instructions for the appliances and information on bin days, Wi-Fi code etc., it’s the first cottage we have stayed in that hasn’t done this. We found the bathroom and bedroom rather cold. We would stay again but in the summer months with the lighter nights, it’s a bit remote and pitch black once it goes dark as obviously no street lamps.

  • "I enjoyed my stay, and hope to return some time soon."

The Cottage is very clean and comfortable. Within no time it felt like home. Pip the owner was on hand to greet me, and make me welcome. Having the station, which is a two minute walk away was a real bonus, which I made use of on several occasions for trips to liskeard and looe. From Liskeard Station you have more options with rail travel, which I used to get myself to Truro. The Cottage is in quiet picturesque setting with the old mill opposite. All in all a great cottage to relax and unwind.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at the aptly named Retreat."

It is beautifully situated within a delightful forest and so peaceful. The landlords Pip & Ann couldn’t have made us more welcome and the thoughtful bottle of wine / milk on arrival was greatly appreciated! Close to the gorgeous harbour of Looe and another at fantastic Polperro, we had lots to see and do when we fancied it. We couldn’t recommend this amazing place highly enough & already planning our return.

Only thing I would I say is that wifi would be handy in this area, especially if wanting to plan activities for your stay. Suitable for our family of two adults, a toddler and 2 medium dogs.
