  • "This is a wonderful property with everything you need in a great location."

I found it to be not perfectly clean (this time, having been before) but absolutely clean enough. On leaving I like to leave a place immaculate but I couldn’t work out the hoover. That’s on me but left me feeling uncomfortable. I would always recommend this property. I’ve read reviews saying it’s small. It is. There are only 2 of us but I’d rather squash into here than spread out elsewhere.

  • "Firstly the house is in a good location for Polzeath, Rock , Wadebridge and Padstow etc."

Initially the house seemed perfectly nice until we had lived there for a few days and it became apparent of a lot of issues. There was a lot of traffic noise on the road outside and dogs barking and loud voices early in the morning. We suffered with itchy eyes for the entire stay and had to remove the very smelly grey covers on the sofas which stunk of dog, the sofas underneath were very dirty. unfortunately we were unable to wash the covers to use as the tumble dryer was not allowed to be used by guests. The cupboard in living room had two cupboards on top of each other inside which were locked (for the owner) but this blocked off the area under the stairs so we could not reach the clothes airer or iron. The shower was a massive struggle getting in and out with the radiator on the wall, whereby the shower screen could not open out and the toilet had to be negotiated. There had been a flood previously in the kitchen ceiling which was unsightly and not repaired. The kitchen table was uncomfortable with no padded seat cushions (£10 from B&M) there was not much in the way of serving dishes, basic utensils and old crockery with no cups & saucers and an old chipped tea-pot and bin with a broken lid. The garden only had half a sofa which wasn't big enough for two. The master bedroom was basically shabby with an old duvet & sheet that had holes in and had seen better days , along with horrible old pillows and very poor storage arrangement in the wardrobe. No clear details on rubbish collection and extremely disappointed that there was no re-cycling. The house needs some nice new soft furnishings and kitchenware along with nice towels and bedding, to make this more comfortable. We stayed out until late as it was not a house we looked forward to getting back to.

  • "We liked the ‘Beach House’ very much - it was ample for our needs."

The beds were comfortable and it had a lovely large kitchen. It was a shame that the tumble dryer wasn’t working as we got extremely wet due to the weather and it would have been handy to dry clothes quickly. We found the heating controls problematic and one night when the temperature dropped we were struggling to keep warm. I don’t think the radiator in the kitchen ever came on during our stay. There were a few cobwebs and accompanying spiders on the stairwell/ceiling corners but no real problem. It was tricky to get in and out of the shower due to the towel radiator blocking the screen. We had to manouver over the toilet to get in and out, but the bathroom was lovely and warm. The owner might want to make it clear about the rubbish arrangements. It was confusing to have a council notice and recycle options but it would appear that there was no recycling because a business contract was in place for rubbish removal. The house was ideally situated for us, central to the places we wanted to visit and walkable to the pub. I also took the dog for a walk to Polzeath which was great.

  • "We had a lovely stay in the cottage - area was perfect - no problem in parking - near to shops and pub and Rock beach."

The bed was extremely comfortable and it was very peaceful in the area. Kitchen was great. Shower was very good as well. The only things I would mark as a negative was just attention to detail. There was no toilet roll left nor any kind of welcome pack. Also front and back gardens were quite overgrown and needs cutting back. Bushes and weeds are apparent.

Thank you so much for your feedback, I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay in our family cottage. All your comments have been taken on board. The garden is being landscaped later this month so will be completely clear of bushes & weeds with a new decking area. I do hope we can welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "It’s a lovely place but with one bathroom and one toilet it’s a place for a family of 4."

Thanks for your feedback, the property suits maximum 4 adults due to only one bathroom & toilet. The garden is being landscaped in September which will open up the garden & create lots more space for outdoor dining. Property Owner

  • "I’ve been going to this part of Cornwall and using rental properties for 9 years now and this is my favourite ever."

The location is perfect with access to so many wonderful places, bars, restaurants, beautiful beaches and scenery etc, etc. The cottage itself is charming, loads of character but tastefully contemporary. Off road parking right outside the cottage, not a driveway but the space remained unchallenged. The facilities in the cottage were excellent. Nothing we wanted for at all. Lovely garden, well fenced for dog safety and privacy. Indoors very clean, smelled amazing, great appliances, large kitchen, lovely bathroom and extremely comfortable beds. The list could go on but I’m afraid I’d bore you!! Highly recommend this property to anyone. We’ll be back for sure at our earliest opportunity.
