"Overall the cottage was great but a dripping kitchen tap, a broken garden chair and flimsy cutlery let the place down in my view."
The description of the access lane needs to be improved to indicate its narrow nature with the bend part way (we had no problems but there are scratch marks on the wall indicating others did!) The Sykes instructions said vacate by 10:00 but the information in the property said vacate by 09:30. The price we paid was OK but if I was paying the summer holiday prices (I wouldn't!!) I would expect better.

"Atmospheric setting right behind the church."
Peaceful walled garden in the shadow of the church.Bells do ring frequently - ancient Cornish village and we were invited to the church choir practice by a visiting gardener. Cottage rooms quite small downstairs but upstairs light and well equipped. However, downside of proximity to church meant access tricky as lane very narrow between church wall and easy to scrape car.

"We enjoyed our stay at Bos Lowen, more so once we had discovered the delights of the food at the Skybar in Newlyn, the walk from Mousehole was wonderful."
I suppose I just wanted more Cornish authenticity - not a pack of Coop scones (although the cream was delicious and used on fresh strawberries) toilet seat was loose which was a pain all holiday and the bin situation…I didn’t want bin bags hanging around until Friday - an outside bin needs providing. Loved the white fresh sheets, towels & wood flooring. The entrance to the property needs more explanation - it’s tight. Upstairs of the property great - downstairs just a little small for a family of 4. But thank you thank you we had a wonderful holiday despite the mixed weather.

"This was a beautiful property and garden in a fantastic location."
Lots of nice places to eat nearby including The Kings Arms in Paul and 2 Fore Street in Mousehole. The parking was sufficient for a Volvo XC40 but there’s not much room to park anything much bigger. It is a very narrow lane with a bend approaching the property which we managed with care in our car. This should be considered when booking the property. The pub in the village did say that you could park in their car park if you went there. We expected to find essentials like salt, pepper, olive oil, milk, hand wash, toilet roll, washing up liquid etc but it did not have any of these. When we have stayed at previous holiday cottages these essentials have always been supplied. We saw from previous comments that a cream tea and welcome pack was provided but we did not receive this. We used the BBQ a few times but the grill wasn’t clean so we had to wash this prior to use.

Lots of walks with Mousehole a short ten minute walk away. Paul itself has a church and pub. Food in the pub good and reasonably priced. However, with a well equipped kitchen and BBQ cooking at Bos Lowen was a pleasure. Will go again but for two weeks next time. Lovely stay...

"Had an amazing stay at Bos Lowen."
It was a real home from home and nothing was lacking at all.
The narrow lane to the cottage could be tricky if you have a large vehicle, but this is clearly mentioned in the description.
Having a garden was perfect and incredibly convenient if you have a dog!
Listening to the church bells on a Sunday morning was truly enchanting.

Downstairs not so. 2nd bedroom best described as pokey. Ridiculous that you can’t open the wardrobe because the bed is in the way. I have bruised elbow from dressing in the doorway - the only available space. Key safe is stupid - requires torch in daylight to see which way to turn, and which door does key fit?

Excellent bus services, parking. The access is a little tight but I have an A5 anything bigger you may need to fold your mirrors back. We are particular about where we stay but this place is our favourite x2 double bedroom one on suite. We have stayed here 4 maybe 5 times in the recent past and we will book again soon. "The photographs of the property don’t do it justice."
It is an exceptional property in every way and the owners were friendly and helpful.
The broadband was excellent and made up for the absence of a mobile signal.
I loved the open plan living room and the two bedrooms both, in effect, having their own en-suit and TVs were excellent.
Everything seemed to have been thought about: the beautiful chair in the entrance area, so useful when putting on your boots or taking them off after a walk. And the little seating area upstairs tucked away with two comfortable armchairs and a little coffee table. Ideal for sitting there to read.
I didn’t get a chance to thank Penny and Anthony when we left but I’m missing the place so much already. Bos Lowen is a wonderful place to stay.
Thank you so much

The cottage is well equipped & comfortable. The welcoming cream tea was a nice touch & enjoyed by all of us.The downside for us was the church which we knew was close but perhaps not immediately next door. We weren't expecting the bells to be rung every hour, even at night, which as we slept with the bedroom windows open, meant a disturbed sleep. The location offers easy access to the rugged drama of the coast; unique mining history; real fishing industry atmosphere of Newlyn…and a place to just sit and watch darkness slowly giving way to dawn across Michael’s Bay from the lounge front. A super upside down house with everything you could possibly need or want provided. Lovely little garden attached to the side with very comfortable sun chairs, outside eating area, bbq and washing line.
We took our VW Longwheeled base camper van which we did manage to park outside on the first day for unloading. We chose to park on the road outside the Church after as it was a little snug getting up and down the narrow driveway with a bend halfway down. Would definitely go again as it’s one of the properties with the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in. Tiny tiny point is a knife sharpener wouldn’t go amiss

"BOS LOWEN was excellent!"
Three of us stayed for one week during March/April. The property was in a wonderful condition and provided everything we needed to self cater. The parking was better than we had expected and would quite easily fit a full size car or two smaller cars. The approach to the property between the church and another house was very narrow but quite easily dealt with by a reasonably competent driver. The sound of the church bells was wonderful but not intrusive. We arranged for a Tesco food delivery which arrived a short while after we did, the driver had no difficulty in finding the property.
The King's Arms pub serves excellent food and drink and is two minutes walk away. The nearest shops appeared to be a fifteen minute walk away in the wonderful coastal village of Mouse Hole (I should point out it is a steep walk down to Mouse Hole along the country lane which is probably very busy during the summer. We all enjoyed the walk but strongly recommend using a torch which the owners do provide for the evenings). Returning to my comment on local shops there are two Deli's in Mouse Hole which are not cheap but do sell morning coffee's and breakfasts if you so wish but for more reasonable prices the Co-op in Newlyn is a short 5 minute drive.
Both showers were excellent, hot with good water pressure. The garden was quite private and well kept and again benefited from the church chimes.
Local buses are easily accessed from the bus stop which is closer than the local pub.
All said this accommodation was for us, idyllically located, peaceful and somewhere we would love to return to. Cannot comment on the owners as we had no interaction with them but the information at the property was fully sufficient.
Many thanks for a delightful stay!!

Perfect location for exploring the south west of Cornwall. Bos Lowen had everything we needed, including a lovely gated garden. The property is very near to the church so you have to be aware that the bells chime on the hour and may disturb you if you are a light sleeper during the night. Paul is a lovely village and in walking distance to Mousehole. The only beware is that the access to the property is restricted with a very narrow driveway with walls on each side and difficult if you are in a large car. It was a bit hairy!

With a view of the sea. Nice little garden area.
I arrived at the cottage 10 minutes early, the cleaners said it would be ready in half an hour. So I was a bit disappointed that I had to spend an hour cleaning the cutlery and saucepan drawers as lots of food and dirt.
Also the log burner glass was black, and no firefighter or kindling wood.only three logs.
However everything else was clean, and I would definitely like to stay here again, I had a great time on my own , as my friend cancelled.
