  • "A very cosy well equipped cottage."

We were grateful, after a long journey, for the personal welcome from Maureen. The ev charging point worked well which was crucial for us. Although this is a dog friendly cottage, there was no evidence of previous dog occupancy. Everything was immaculate.

  • "Myself, my new Husband and our dog Harvey had a fantastic stay at Phoenix Cottage on our first trip to Cornwall for our Minimoon."

We mainly booked this cottage for both how super dog friendly the cottage is - based on previous reviews - and also as a convenient base location as we pre-planned to visit many places such as St Ives, Land's End and Penzance. We weren't let down and we had a wonderful time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Maureen where she showed us around the cottage and provided us with important info and recommendations on where to visit with the dog during our stay. Maureen and John had decorated the cottage with 'just married' décor, a card and a bottle of wine prior to our arrival which were a lovely surprise. We also had cream tea waiting for us which was a lovely thoughtful touch, and so we kept the cream tea tradition going most mornings for our al fresco breakfast. We had everything we needed and more at the cottage. We particularly enjoyed the ample outside space for the dog which comprised of an enclosed outdoors space and an additional enclosed hottub area joined onto the cottage, a large enclosed garden a few steps away and a larger field next to it. Inside we benefitted from many amenities including a fan in our bedroom, a lovely large mirror in the bathroom, the super soft bathrobes, and a decent TV in the sitting room which we used to watch many episodes of The Office (US) between our adventures and to look through our wedding photos on our first night. Both ourselves and the dog were well catered for and the cottage was spotless. This was our first ever stay at a cottage as we usually go for log cabins, and we hit jackpot. Thanks Maureen and John for a beautiful Minimoon!

We couldn't fault the effort and attention to detail that Maureen had gone to. It was a lovely, comfortable and peaceful cottage, and suited us perfectly. We will be back and would highly recommend it. Thanks very much, Maureen.

We would suggest to reduce the amount of accessories, but perhaps that is a matter of taste. We absolutely loved the hottub but for our dog the separate field was not a succes. All and all we enjoyed our stay very much.

  • "Phoenix Cottage is a lovely property to stay."

Quite, private location and easy access to most of Cornwall. Everything is catered for in the property and there was nothing we required that wasn't there. Exceptionally clean and we were made to feel welcome and at home from the very start. We felt nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything, which we didn't as it was already there. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely return on our next holiday.

We had the best week ever over new years at Nantrisack holiday cottages, Maureen is amazing, super friendly, welcoming, really kind. Our cottage was incredibly well equipped and truly dog friendly. It felt like a home away from home and we couldnt have asked for anything more, the hot tub, the furnishings, the doggy treats and toys, the cheeseboard and port. It is the best cottage we have ever stayed in through Sykes and we will definitely be back. Thank you Maureen for making our start to 2024 so brilliant!

... what an absolutely fabulous place. Having been provided with some directions (as the sat nav doesn’t take you to the right place), we arrived and were immediately met by the owner - whom called in to say a very friendly hello and ensured we had what we needed - and made sure we knew to contact her if we needed anything. She showed us our own garden and also the huge field through the garden which was for the dog to play in! This really was doggy paradise. To say they are welcoming of dogs is an understatement. Inside the spotless property it was kitted out to a high standard and was so very inviting. There was even a chest of goodies (toys / treats / poo bags) for the dog! The rooms are large, airy and fresh - and the property contains everything you could possibly need for your stay. The hot tub was well used by us too - a lovely way to round off the days. The property is one of six on the owners land - with each one being fully self contained with its own garden etc. I seriously cannot explain how amazing this place is - other than to say it’s well situated - far enough from beaches to not be caught in the mad traffic which I assume hits Cornwall in the summer, but close enough to have everything you need to access on your doorstep - beaches are a short drive, but the tranquility of this property was ideal for our needs. Suffice to say I will be back to either this property or one of the others on this site in the future. It’s the nicest self contained place I’ve ever stayed - and the owners are amazing.

We were very grateful that restrictions lifted in time that we could keep our booking. The cottage is gorgeous - the photos just don’t do it justice. There’s so much space and it is kitted out with everything you could possibly want or need. The hot tub is wonderful any time of day and is always kept at the perfect temperature so there’s no waiting. LED lights out by the hot tub make for a lovely evening dip too. Maureen was so helpful in providing instructions for teaching the property and was available on a mobile number throughout our stay. As we left we were already eyeing up the larger cottages to return with friends at some point. Thank you for a restful break in a great cottage. P.S. the take away fish and chip shop in the next village is the best I’ve ever tasted - Kelhams? Book online to avoid disappointment though!
