  • "Jenny Wren was perfect for our need as a base for visiting the sights of Cornwall."

The property was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Close to local amenities we were able to visit the local pub and shop on foot. We would book the property again and would not hesitate in highly recommending it.

Jenny Wren is spotlessly clean, very well-equipped (absolutely everything you might need!) and surprisingly spacious - more so than the average holiday apartment. The hosts are friendly and helpful and go the extra mile to ensure you have a happy, comfortable stay.

  • "A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday."

Situated in a lovely Village, within walking distance of local pubs, shops and Par beach. Great base for walking South West Coast path and exploring Cornwall by car. We received a warm welcome from the owners who are lovely and genuine. The accommodation is well equipped, with a beautiful garden and views to countryside.

  • "Jenny Wren was a very comfortable and welcoming property to holiday in, particularly as the weather was not kind to us being cold, windy and rainy on most days, but we were cosy and warm."

The views from the kitchen window are lovely across the garden and valley. The owners were helpful and easy to talk to. The pub is only a 5 min downhill walk as is the small village shop opposite. The beach is walkable too but you do need to take into account Tywardreath is set on a hill above Par. It is ideally located to visit both the north and south coasts too.

nothing was too much trouble. We agree with all the comments left by previous guests praising the apartment and its owners. The bus services were reliable and convenient meaning that the car could, in the main be left on the premises and places visited on the bus. A great asset in an area where parking is difficult and expensive. Excellent local pub within walking distance.

Even if it is windy the garden is sheltered, it was still very warm. Our hosts were very pleasant and welcoming. Their cottage is modern and a home from home, we could not fault anything. About the location

Fowey 3.3 miles; St Austell 6.3 miles.

The pretty, historic Cornish village of Tywardreath, meaning ‘The House on the Strand’, lies in the heart of Daphne du Maurier country and features in her book of the same name. St Andrew’s, the village church, is said to have the best peal of bells in the area, while the village has a lively community, centred round its excellent pubs and range of shops. There are several safe, sandy beaches close to the village, with a variety of watersports and leisure activities available. Par, a small, china clay port with a dog friendly sandy beach is a fifteen minute walk from the village or 5 minutes in the car, home to a main line railway station. Polkerris Beach, a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away, has a beachside restaurant, pub and watersports centre. The attractive waterside village of Fowey is just three miles away, from where there are some dramatic cliff walks to Gribbin Head, passing through much of du Maurier’s familiar landscape. There are many family attractions in the area, including Mevagissey and Charlestown harbours, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Tywardreath is a village that will appeal to families and those keen to explore the rich heritage and gorgeous coastline of South Cornwall.
