    Suited our elderly relatives, ourselves and our three dogs perfectly. Comfy beds and good showers. Even beds for dogs if needed. Only one small negative... The front door hated me and caught my fingers three times... Ouch!!

  • "Lovely home in a good location."

    It has all utilities that you’d need. Quite noisy outside on most nights with it being on the high street. Would benefit from a deep clean as it wasn’t the cleanest property we’ve stayed in. Also, take an adapter for toothbrush chargers or shavers etc as there isn’t a charging point in either bathroom.

  • "We have just arrived home from a lovely stay at meneage house in Helston and what a fabulous stay it was, a great holiday home in a fabulous location."

    Our accommodation was clean and comfortable, everything we needed for our holiday. We had one problem with a leak due a heavy downpour of rain but this was solved by the owners who were very helpful, polite and couldn't do enough to ensure our comfort. There is a bench in the yard that could do with a little tlc, but there was everything we needed there and more. Great for accommodating us and our pets, thank you for such a lovely stay.

  • "Lovely cottage, clean and comfortable."

    Location is excellent for sight seeing. The town of Helston is lovely and amenities are close. The only problem we had was with the front door. The bottom handle is really loose and the inner hallway door nob is very stiff to open. Other than that the place is beautiful and well equipped. Would really recommend.

  • "Lovely house in the middle of Helston - very handy for local shops, pubs and restaurants, it can be a little noisy at closing time, The house is beautifully decorated with everything you need provided, the welcome package for ourselves and our dogs was a great touch, Very comfortable, with plenty of space for the 6 of us plus dogs."

  • "Lovely house well equipt."

    Lovely welcome box and area for your dog we didn’t bring ours as she’s 13. Had a lovely stay, the house is a great place to stay to explore the most westerly/southerly parts of Cornwall as you can get to both coasts quite easily. There are lots of local amenities nearby. Would recommend and come back again. Boo Koos is a great burger place and they even deliver to the pub opposite!

  • "Meneage House was a beautifully restored home."

    However, description did not mention how steep the stairs were to the top bedroom which we found a problem. Door handles (Kitchen & hallway) were really stiff and extremely difficult to open! Dogs whilst welcomed with a goody pack (very nice touch) were only allowed on the ground floor. Our pooches found this particularly distressing in unfamiliar surroundings. Apart from maybe adding a few more bowls ie., fruit/pasta/mixing, the kitchen was well appointed and very clean. The town folk were friendly with lots of dog friendly places to visit. A great base for travelling out to places of interest.

    Thank you for your lovely comments about our restoration of Meneage House. We will ask Sykes if they can update their description in regards to the top-flight of stairs as this is very common in an old Cornish 3 storey building. We have informed our maintenance team about the stiffness of handles and this will be rectified. With regards to Dogs only being allowed on the ground floor this is for hygiene purposes as not everyone has a dog or allows their dogs upstairs, we also did not want to have to add a charge for additional cleaning. We have however provided a comfortable purpose built environment downstairs for them covering the whole of the ground floor. We will restock our kitchen and add more bowls. One of the many reasons we chose Helston was exactly as you described in your comment, the friendly town folk among lots of dog friendly places and a great base to explore our three dogs; absolutely love it. Nestled in the centre of the thriving town of Helston on Cornwall's Lizard Peninsula is this welcoming, mid-terrace cottage of Meneage House.

Offering a family of six a wonderful home-from-home that is set over three floors, Meneage House rests moments away from a plethora of South West Cornwall's delightful sights.

After parking up on the street outside, or in a nearby car park, make your way inside to be welcomed by an entrance hall that features a quirky dog nook, so your canine companion(s) can unwind in their quiet, tucked-away space.

After a busy day of explorations, you'll be delighted to uncover the open-plan's Chesterfield sofas, allowing you to stretch out and unwind in front of the TV.

When you're feeling a little peckish, make your way over to the kitchen, a delightful spot enjoying vibrant shaker-style cabinets and a range of colour-coordinated appliances.

Once the designated chef of the group has prepared a delicious meal here, enjoy it at the sleek dining table; alternatively, you can enjoy it out on the private decking on sunny days.

As the day winds to an end, head to the utility and throw any sandy clothing into the washing machine and head upstairs to the first floor.

On this floor, you'll be happy to find two elegantly decorated double bedrooms, one of which enjoys its own sitting area with views of the street below.

Further along the landing, you'll discover a spacious shower room, where a range of contemporary fittings, mosaic flooring and metro tiling can be found.

Get to know the town of Helston by venturing out and enjoying a bite to eat at one of the fantastic eateries which have made the place their own, including The Waffle Factory and Henlys; the town is also home to the renowned Flambards Theme Park, perfect for all the family, as well as being near the iconic Helston Railway.

Why not spend the day on the coast and travel down to Porthleven, where a sandy beach, the breathtaking National Trust property of Penrose and the idyllic Porthleven Harbour await?

Journey further afield to Falmouth, a bustling town packed with vibrant residences, as well as hosting the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and Swanpool Beach.

Helston lies at the western gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, a large area of downland fringed by a beautiful and spectacular coastline. Helston is a pleasant busy market town famous for it's Flora Day Festival and the many stories and legends about the "Furry Dance" are told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Nestled in a tranquil setting is the National Seal Sanctuary on the Helford River, where there is plenty of entertainment watching seals play and feed.
