  • "We had a wonderful stay at The Moorings."

Despite our poor weather, the bright and comfortable living spaces provided a great base for our activities. Fantastic location to the nearby shops and a short walk down to Rock beach. We appreciated the utility area on the ground floor. It was great to have a separate entrance for sandy surfers in their wetsuits who could head straight for a shower and make use of the washing machine/tumble dryer without creating mess elsewhere in the house. We've been coming to Rock for over 20 years and would gladly stay at this spacious, family friendly and convenient house again.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from. We would love to welcome you back anytime in the future! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We have just finished a week's stay during some classic British holiday weather."

The house was very comfortable and a great place to relax in-between family activities tha ka to the space and facilities. The downstairs shower and utility space with seperate entrance was a god send as we staggered in covered in sand and damp kit. The master bedroom also boasts the most comfortable bed I can remember at a rental property. I would be very happy to return for another visit.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Moorings. We do hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "What a beautiful spacious house."

It is very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, with everything you need for a family holiday. We loved the garden and made use of the decking area. It is ideally located and within a short drive of our favourite beaches. Also very handy for the bakery and other essential shops. The only criticism would be the mattresses in the two double rooms which were rather firm. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Moorings.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent stay at The Moorings, we are so glad you enjoyed the property and we do hope to welcome you back to North Cornwall again soon. John Brays Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely holiday in the Moorings."

The house was ideal for us and was well located a 15 min walk to Rock Beach. The nearby excellent local shops were a pleasant surprise, as was the second fridge and high chair. We would have welcomed a 10-0 clock check out and a recycling bin. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have changed our check out time to 9.30am for the 2022 season, Currently a 10am checkout is not possible but it is something we are looking into for the future. We will also look into getting a recycling bin to the property so thank you for bringing that to our attention. We do hope we can welcome you back in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays. • "The lack of recycling facilities was very disappointing."

It should be made clear in the details that recycling is not available at the property and the nearest bottle bank and recycling centre is some distance away. Otherwise everything else was great. A problem with the hot water was taken care of in good time and we would definitely consider re-booking.

Thank you for your feedback we are glad to hear you would re-book! We understand that the clock for the hot water may not be easy for everyone to use. However, it is set to come on for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening. An extra-large tank was installed to make sure there was enough water for 6 people to shower comfortably each day morning, and evening. There is an override switch that can resolve any reported issues with the clock. We have supplied recycling bags for the property, the recycling gets collected with the bins on a Tuesday ( we will make sure these are still at the property) - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "We had a lovely time in Cornwall as always ."

The Moorings is a lovely white washed house , very comfortable with a little garden for children to play in . Perfectly situated on the Rock rd in walking distance to the shops .it was fatal to be able to cross the road to the Bakery as we had fresh croissants every day but go early not to disappoint . An early check out is not great so we left the night before !

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and took full advantage of the garden and plethora of shops within walking distance. We would love to have you back anytime. As for the early check out time, we do apologise for the inconvenience. However, this is due to the new rules as a result of the pandemic, an earlier checkout time allows for more time between guests and more time for our caretakers to thoroughly clean the property safely for the next guests to arrive. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Thanks for your e-mail and the offer of first refusal next year."

We will most likely take up the offer and hopefully be able to extend it to two weeks. We had another fabulous holiday at the Moorings, having previously stayed there on 4 occasions between 2005-2008. It's a lovely house which holds lots of memories for us of some great holidays when our kids were toddlers. The house has a lovely relaxed feel about it and is in a great location for the village shops in Rock and nearby beaches. It was great to be back and now the kids are older we spent a lot of time on Polzeath beach bodyboarding. The garage space was really useful for storing our kit and the rear garden is perfect for BBQ's and for games on the lawn. We've spent the last few years camping in France and whilst we had some great holidays there, we've yet to find somewhere as appealing as Rock, Daymer and Polzeath for our holidays. The highlights for me were body boarding with the kids, a round of golf at St Enodoc and catching a few mackerel for the BBQ. The coastal scenery around Pentire Head is just stunning, whatever the weather. The cleaning service was a great help to ensure we were able to make the most of our last evening and get on the road by 10am the next morning. The only thing I would suggest for improvement at the Moorings is that a hosepipe in the garden would have been useful for washing the wetsuits. Looking forward to our next stay already!
