  • "Great little cottage."

Clean and well equipped. Bedding and towels lovely. Dog freindly (downstairs), which is perfect. Lovely village, excellent local pub. Decent value for the period we booked.

  • "We were very pleased with the property."

It contained everything we could possibly need, and thoughtfully equipped. Beds were extremely comfortable with lovely cotton linen. Welcome gifts were a lovely surprise, thank you. A delightful and wonderful stay in beautiful Barrowden. We were also made very welcome at the pub over the road ( Exeter Arms) Thank you for letting us use it.

  • "Fantasttic property, facilities and equipment provided were excellent and the rooms are super spacious, there was loads more room than it looked from the pictures."

The village is wonderful and perfectly for visiting Rutland water and the surrounding area. Highly recommend and would definitely be back again!

  • "Lovely cottage with fully enclosed garden, ideal for dogs."

While there was a welcome folder containing general emergency information there was nothing to explain the heating, hot water, TV etc. within the cottage itself. Also it would be helpful for appliance manuals in the kitchen to be in one place, we eventually found the oven manual in the understairs cupboard. However this did not spoil our break and the location is perfect for Rutland Water and Stamford. The pub in the village is well worth a visit and very dog friendly.

  • "Only minor comment would be that a pack from the owners explaining facilities would be helpful."

For example, setting central heating; location of washing machine; wood for wood burner; tv channels. We figured it all out and none of this spoilt an excellent stay!

  • "We had such a wonderful stay at The Old Bakehouse, we were a tad early when we arrived but it meant we got to meet the owner, and she was so lovely."

Very welcoming and helpful. The only reason we were not fully satisfied with the accuracy of the listing is because it says it comes with a parking space, when in fact it does not. Although such a big enough area outside for one car… the neighbours are not very welcoming if you park there. We thought we would park on the pavement/road first but another neighbour also told us we would have to move. so to keep them both happy you need to park around the greens just across the road (around the pub) This is fine though, we just parked out front whilst we unpacked/packed and then moved the car away after. Don’t let the neighbours put you off… you will barely see a soul, it’s such a beautiful/quiet village with lovely walks and a great pub nearby. We also enjoyed the little village shop with local cakes. Lovely cottage and would 100% come back. Thanks so much.
