Cottage is well stocked with pretty much everything you’ll need in the kitchen and everywhere else in the cottage. Beds are of good quality and my wife and I both loved the pillows. Communication from the owners is exceptional and all information required for the cottage is found within. We were provided with a parking permit for Rutland council car parks and one is situated literally round the corner and we briefly parked outside the cottage to empty the car of suitcases etc and then parked up in the car park which was very safe and convenient. There’s a nice market on Saturday and Wednesday , we used Tesco’s for our food and we would recommend nearby Stamford as a nice place to visit. To conclude we would highly recommend this holiday cottage and a big thank you to Val who was so helpful and kind x

The town is an easy walk with the pub even closer just around the corner! The property was spotlessly clean and the beds comfy giving us both much needed rest. The weather was kind to us during our stay so we were able to sit in the little garden. The church is very close to the cottage with the steeple being lit up at night and the bells rung on Sunday. All in all a very 'village' feel to this area. Oakham has much to offer so check out its Buttercross and Stocks which are interesting in their history. Overall would highly recommend and would love to visit again.

The supplies that were left for us were excellent - very nice welcoming touches. The property is very central in Oakham so we enjoyed being able to walk to the shops and so on. A first class stay and our primary reason for choosing the cottage was because we were visiting family nearby (in Melton), so I'm sure we'll be looking to stay at Bennett's Cottage again in the future. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again and explore more of Rutland Water and surrounding villages. We have a suggestion for the winter months. A curtain which could be fixed back in the lobby area at the bottom of the stairs would help retain the heat and would add privacy. The sensor light over the back door might have to be moved though. Recently refurbished and re-equipped with everything you need and more. Our son has disabilities, but the staircase has double hand rails which made access to the bedrooms very easy for him. Oakham itself is full of history and old/quaint buildings. The cottage is a stones throw from the high street, so access to the shops is easy.
