The property

Resting in Rutland's county town of Oakham, just a short stroll away from its wonderful amenities, sits this homely abode; Bennett's Cottage.

Perfect for a family of four or a couple looking to escape to the countryside, this cottage offers all the home-comforts needed to enjoy a relaxing retreat in the East Midlands.

Enter into the kitchen/diner and settle down around the dining table in the room, making a lovely spot to enjoy an afternoon snack prepared with the assistance of the wonderful appliances on offer, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, all sure to be of wonderful assistance, as well as a handy dishwasher to help with the washing up.

Spend time relaxing in the sitting room around the electric woodburning effect fire, a stylish and neutrally decorated room making a lovely spot to snuggle up in front of the Smart TV and watch a family-favourite film.

Move up onto the first floor to find the two bedrooms, made up of a master king-size and a twin, both home to natural hues creating a warm and welcoming aura, they offer the perfect spots to catch up on your rest.

In between both bedrooms you can find the Jack-and-Jill bathroom, boasting a bath and a shower over, you can choose how best to prepare for your day before heading outside to sip on a coffee in your enclosed courtyard.

Take a stroll into Oakham to be greeted by a wonderful range of amenities, from the simplicities of shops and eateries, to wider historical wonders including a wonderful castle, the Rutland County Museum with archaeological, agricultural & crime exhibits and a lovely church, there's plenty to explore here.

Be sure to visit the Rutland Farm Park for a day out the little ones won't forget, or take a scenic stroll around the heritage site of Cutts Close Park, with various events taking place in the summer months including dog events, carnivals and fun fairs.

Slightly further afield is the beauty of the Rutland Water Nature Reserve, providing one of Great Britain's most important wildfowl sanctuaries, a wide range of wonderful wildlife and a plethora of watersporting opportunities canoeing, sailing, fishing and even an in-water obstacle course!

A scenic car or train journey can bring you to Leicester, famed as the burial place for Richard III, the city is also home to attractions such as the National Space Centre, New Walk Museum, beautiful Bradgate Park and much more, or enjoy a day in Nottingham full of rich history and even more wonderful walking routes.

Oakham is the delightful county town of Rutland, and is a great place to visit and spend a holiday. It is filled with pretty stone and thatched buildings and offers something for everyone, it's a great family holiday destination. The town centre offers a good range of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from as well as a local history museum, a 12th century castle and a 14th century church adding real character and beauty. To the outskirts of the town sits one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe in the Rutland Water Nature Reserve which offers watersports, a small water adventure park, a bird watching fair, sailing club and fishing facilities for you outdoor people. There is also Rutland Water Golf Course overlooking the lake. The Midlands is packed with lovely towns and cities that are worth visiting, the train station in Oakham offers access to places such as Nottingham and Leicester with their great shopping and stunning buildings.
