  • "Lovely comfortable lodge, everything we needed kitchen wise, would have preferred deeper bowls for cereal etc."

    Maybe a welcome tray with tea\coffee and biscuits or bottle of fizz? The beds were very comfortable with Lovely bed linen. Also nice shower and bath. We enjoyed sitting outside on the decking listening to birds. Also used the hot tub once we managed to regulate the temperature! Will definitely be back next year.

  • "Lovely little lodge tucked a stones throw away from Rutland water."

    Pros: family friendly, helpful staff onsite during the day, close to local amenities, friendly visitors(the sheep), owners clearly investing in upgrading/ expanding the site with new cabins and a padel court. Hot tub and plunge pool a plus. Cons: cafe/bar on site closes at 5pm, gardens not enclosed so if you take young children/ lesser trained dogs they can and will escape, lots of flies in the heat as close to a small stream, lack of BBQ utensils, main bedroom headboard was really dusty! This place has loads of potential to be a really high end site. Would stay again.

  • "The only thing I can fault is it not being enclosed as I thought it was and that my mistake for not fully checking but the property we stayed in isn’t fully fenced so is open for the dog to roam and explore."

    There was sheep from the other field popping over to say hello every morning which as much as it’s nice we were on alert the whole time incase the dog got out and disturbed other residents in ther property or got out as there is many ways to get out to the front aswell which was worrying because of the main road. If it was fully gated and fenced or wired off areas then we would be back but unfortunately it wasn’t as relaxing as we hoped because we could let our dog roam just in the garden we were staying in. Apart from that the place is beautiful the area is beautiful. Not recommended if you have a dog. Unless it’s well behaved with livestock and doesn’t leave your side.

  • "We spend lovely 5 days at the lodge."

    It had everything we needed. It was very private even having few other lodges around. The weather was good and kids enjoyed the plunge pool and the hot tub. We also enjoyed having fire every night and use the BBQ. Recommended,

    Bed was big and exceptionally comfortable! Hot tub lovely and outdoor space gorgeous. Lovely and warm even in December Only thing I didn’t like was no curtains in Lounge area, you aren’t overlooked at all but I like to close curtains at night when relaxing.

  • "The best lodge stay ever!"

    the lodge was perfect for me and my family (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog). Everything from the cute set up inside, to the hot tub and fire pit, we all enjoyed every moment of our stay. The owners were more than accommodating, in responding to messages and answering questions. Highly recommend this place for family and friend breaks. We can't wait to go back and enjoy the lodge all over again. The main thing I liked about the lodge that it was clean and well thought through. Thanks for an amazing stay x

  • "What a beautiful place to stay, comfortable and easy and some nice touches."

    Whilst there are lots to do around the area whether walks or short drives to places we could have easily stayed in the lodge all the time! Owners on hand to help with anything and with the up and coming additions they are making this place is just going to get better. We will return for sure!

This wonderful stone-built Georgian market town is thought to be one of the finest stone towns in England. Famous for its use as Meryton in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film, the town offers an excellent variety of independent shops, recognised retailers, character-rich pubs and range of restaurants. There is also a weekly market every Friday. Take a stroll to the banks of the River Welland which winds its way through Stamford and enjoy some lovely walking and an abundance of wildlife.
