  • "We loved the cottage, had everything you could need."

Very clean and comfortable. Fantastic location with loads to do nearby. The chocolate rabbits for the children were a lovely touch, thank you. It would be helpful to have a few basic things in the kitchen such as foil and cling film. It would also be nice to have a table to go with the chairs in the garden. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again, thank you!

The charming terrace garden is accessible by easy steps. Many excellent walks and interesting towns, historical sites and the Kennett and Avon canal a short drive away.

  • "Lovely property really nicely updated."

Kitchen well stocked and some wood for log burner - although it was so mild we didn’t really need it! . Plenty of space for a younger family for a short break, wonderful local pub in walking distance and great base to explore Wiltshire!

Warm and comfortable to return to after being out all day. Beds very comfortable, house nicely finished and had everything you could need. Likely to return again. Edington itself was a really friendly village with good walks.

  • "Tilly's Cottage is a beautifully renovated cottage."

We had originally booked for 2 adults and a dog, and then changed the booking to 4 people and a dog. We had a lovely time in the cottage, but I probably think it is more suitable for a maximum of three people. Although we were aware that the garden was reached up steep steps, the garden was described as wonderful and we were disappointed. it was also not dog secure. More could be done to enhance the terraced garden. The kitchen was a little small for 4 people to eat particularly as we do like cooking all our meals while we are away. All in all it is a beautiful cottage, extremely clean, but a little restrictive.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are sorry you were disappointed with the terraced wild flower, shrub filled garden. The owner has worked well with the split levels of the outside area, providing pots, wild flowers, shrubs, a decked area and a lawned area. As mentioned previously the garden is not manicured as such but is tended to regularly. Our description does not state an 'enclosed' garden and would therefore suggest it is not secure for pets. We are never able to 100% guarantee that a dog would not be able to escape a garden if they really wanted too! Property Owner

  • "Beautiful and spotless cottage in a lovely location."

As previously mentioned there are stone steps up to the patio but this was not a problem (it could be for those with mobility issues). We found this space to be a lovely quiet suntrap. Our only recommendation is the patio would benefit from better furniture and a parasol to make it more useable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Thank you for providing your invaluable feedback, we have spoken with the owner who has confirmed a new set of garden furniture will be provided for next season. We look forward to welcoming you back to Tilly's Cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "We feel there should have been mention that the patio area was accessed by very steep steps so inaccessible to those with mobility problems."

The holiday information mentioned a BBQ and garden furniture. On arrival we found no BBQ which didn’t bother us but no table which did as we like to eat outside as much as possible. Full marks to Mike who provided the latter the next day. We expected to find a washing machine and hair dryer which most places provide but have to admit that these were not included in the list of amenities provided and we hadn’t noticed this. The property itself was comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated, however the garden area looked sadly neglected.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your visit to Tilly's Cottage. We have spoken with the owner who has confirmed that there is no longer a barbecue available and we have now updated our listing to reflect this. We are pleased a garden table was provided for you to enable you to enjoy alfresco dining, a new garden set will be provided for next season. The garden is a terraced wild flower cottage garden with several pots and lawned area, very hard to keep manicured but is tended too regularly. Despite the points raised we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit. Property Owner

  • "Tilly’s cottage has recently been sympathetically restored to a very high standard."

Lovely decor, modern kitchen (with excellent oven), granite surfaces and all the utensils you would ever need. Plenty of hot water, rain shower over bath that was excellent, cottage lovely and warm. We had mixed weather for our holiday, but still managed to use the sun trap terrace on a couple of occasions (be warned steep steps to terrace). Very quiet, the pictures in the advert are a correct representation, it’s a lovely cottage down a quiet Wiltshire lane. Would we stay again? Definitely.

The beds were comfy, living room was cosy and the garden was great for sunsets. The flooring in the kitchen looked like the original stonework, which was a nice touch. Mike and Sue also left a brief history of the cottage and information on the local area. We'll certainly be visiting again in the future.

  • "Lovely cosy homely cottage."

Good location near pub and farm shop and lots of walks. Nearby Bath and Longleat for days out, or Bradford on Avon. The cottage kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. Beds OK, not the most comfortable but OK. Lovely rainfall shower in bathroom and large living room with log burner for cosy evenings. TV signal was poor so would recommend bringing games and DVD's of your own if looking for an evening in. Said no pets in the property, but there had evidently been and I am a little allergic, so didn't feel great most of the time I was inside. Other than these few little personal niggles I really couldn't fault it and would likely return.

We are hoping to return at some stage in the future when all this COVID episode is over, we love Wiltshire and Tilly's Cottage is central and accessible.

Very clean and comfortable - the beds were extremely comfortable and a lovely rain shower. Kitchen well equipped with access to an outside seating area, although this could be difficult for a person with reduced mobility. Parking could be an issue if you have more than one car as it is very tight right in front of the cottage. I would stay again! Farm shop 2 mins walk away with a cafe and pub/brewery/Spa facilities next door - can recommend.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Tilly's Cottage."

Mike has restored the cottage to a very high standard. Inside was very well equipped. There isn't a washing machine, but that was not a problem for us. The main thing for us is a comfortable bed, very comfortable! The garden and patio area was inaccessible to me as it's quite steep. Being disabled, it was a no go area. for me. This didn't impact on our holiday, but I felt it should be pointed out in the details. Summing up. Tilly's cottage was, Quiet, clean, comfortable and cosy. ÞheWe would certainly stay there again

  • "We spent a lovely week in this compact little cottage."

It being 2020, we opted for a staycation and this fit the bill. It was a good location for exploring the sites, tucked away at the end of lots of small country roads so we felt we were really getting away from it all. It had everything we needed. Great attention to detail...even our dog was catered for, with a dog towel, blanket, bed and even milk bones provided for her. It was a lovely touch. We would thoroughly recommend.

The owners were brilliant, very welcoming to us and our dog. Spent some of the hottest hours of the heatwave between the terraced garden and the nice cool interior of the cottage and there were plenty of good dog walks from the village. No noise from the street or neighbours whatsoever. It’s decorated perfectly, clean and inviting. Only downside is the garden. You have to climb two flight of stairs to gain access to it, and as a disabled person this was too much for me. The owners were fantastic answering any questions I had throughout the week.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host who kindly gave us a tour around the cottage and some useful information. The cottage inside was beautifully designed and decorated with each and every small detail being taken care of to ensure that guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay. This cottage is a perfect base for exploring Wiltshire and the Cotswolds and is also very close to Bath. During our stay, we visited many places of interest, including Longleat Safari Park, Stonehenge, Castle Coombe and Salisbury which is famous for it's beautiful Cathedral. We couldn't have asked for a better location or better hosts, Mike and Sue were very kind and helpful and attended to all our needs. The cottage is also close to a great local pub/restaurant called the Three Daggers and there is also a farm shop where you can buy some great fresh produce. Thanks to the hosts for an unforgettable stay and making our trip so memorable.
