Ross-on-Wye 8.6 miles; Gloucester 15 miles; Cheltenham 22 miles.

Cinderford is set in an elevated position in the Forest of Dean and has views out across the River Severn. With a good range of local amenities including shops, pubs and cinema, Cinderford is a lovely base from which to begin your explorations of the area. Close by is the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering numerous trails that can be explored on foot, bicycle or horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are on offer for the more adventurous, while fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area.
