  • "The property (lodge) was fantastic in all aspects, cleanliness, layout, facilities etc, but the location and the view were and are tremendous, the wildlife around the lodge was charming and varied,a real country environment but so well looked after."

I could carry on about this excellent lodge, but I need to emphasize the owners played a massive part in making this a first class break, from the start by providing a wonderful welcoming pack and then being so welcoming to us. We would and will recommend this lodge to everyone.

  • "The tranquility of setting couldn’t have been more perfect."

Owners were very friendly as were neighbours and the welcoming pack was perfect. Lodge was fitted out with everything and they have thought of every need possible to make my stay just perfect. The piano was a bonus and we enjoyed tinkering the ivories, despite being off key. Buzzards, wren woodpeckers and herons delighted me, as did the all important dark night sky. Perfect !

  • "The owners were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble."

They were helpful and knowledgeable regarding the local environment and nearby facilities. Brookside Lodge was very clean, it had a lovely outlook onto the Worcestershire countryside. Very quiet location, friendly atmosphere, lots of extra touches e.g. welcome hamper, numerous towels, plenty of kitchen equipment, a large fan in the main bedroom and parking next to the lodge. During the evening you can see foxes and badgers feeding close by, I also saw deer, and owl, a heron and wildlife near the stream. The booking with yourselves went very smoothly and to plan. I would highly recommend Brookside Lodge - a must visit and a little jewel in Worcestershire. Please note: You may publish my feedback, however I would like the feedback to be anonymous, thank you.

About the location

Pershore 3.5 miles; Upton on Severn 5 miles; Malvern 12 miles; Cheltenham 16 miles.

Defford is a small village on the edge of Bredon Hill, in Worcestershire's Heritage Garden, one of the most unspoilt areas of England, famous for its Blossom Trail and locally grown fruit and veg. The elegant market town of Pershore, on the River Avon, is a short drive away, boasting Georgian architecture, a medieval Abbey and many shops, restaurants and traditional inns. Close by is the riverside town of Upton on Severn with its' flourishing marina, half-timbered buildings, music and water festivals, and popular local vineyard. The magnificent Malvern Hills and Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of Shakespeare, numerous National Trust properties, Cheltenham Racecourse and ancient mellow Cotswold villages are also within easy reach. The many delights of Worcestershire's open countryside, with its' agricultural shows, open gardens and village fetes, typifies rural England and was reputedly used as a model for BBC 4's The Archers. There are many lovely walks and cycle trails, museums and olde worlde pubs - something to suit all tastes and at time of year.
