  • "Sorry for the delay, lovely stay, limited for dog walks from the cottage but loads in the vicinity although you need to be wary of the start of the shooting season, birds everywhere!"

! Owners very helpful and very nice. Thanks Lin and Colin Baxter

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay."

The cottage has everything you need and is extremely comfortable. It was our first holiday away with our dog. The garden is secure and the cottage is very dog friendly which was important to us. The hosts are very welcoming and considerate. The area is lovely. If you have never been to the Wye valley, it’s well worth a visit.

Many thanks for taking the time to write such great feedback. We hope to see you again. Regards Craig & Lynne Property Owner

  • "We found the cottage to be a very relaxing environment, inside and outside."

The owners were very friendly and helpful at all times, and there was plenty of different information around for places to go and see. Lovely walks around in the hills and valleys around the cottage. As the cottage was not to far from a main road it made it easy access to get to other places around the area with a car which were both close and a distance away. Lovely Breakfasts provided if wanted. The nice art and craft gallery within the grounds was also a bonus, fantastic wire and wooden items made and on show. a good place if you like different crafts. Also dog friendly.

Thank you for the great review, we're delighted you enjoyed your stay here and hope to see you again one day soon. Property Owner

  • "The Apple Store was cosy and clean, in a lovely location (except for the traffic noise)."

We enjoyed our weekend here, the apartment was well equipped. My only suggestion would be that maybe some carpet is needed in the upstairs apartment to muffle the noisy footsteps?

Thank you for your feedback we really appreciate it. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay. We are looking for ways to reduce the noise from the Cider Loft although regrettably carpet is a difficult one for us, but we will investigate our options. Regards Craig & Lynne Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, nicely equipped kitchen which satisfied our self-catering needs."

We particularly appreciated the securely enclosed back garden, which gave our dog a safe place to unwind after our long walks around the local area. We loved the nearby Old Court Hotel for a meal out; very cosy inside, and it has a gorgeous garden to enjoy a drink if you get lucky with the weather.

Thank you for taking the time to write this great review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We recently renewed some of the fencing for the cottage's back garden so thank you for the feedback. Look forward to seeing you again one day. Property Owner

  • "The water heater was playing up which the owner advised me of on arrival."

It meant no hot water to wash up but boiling a kettle was no issue. The shower also fluctuated dramatically from boiling hot to freezing cold but I managed ok. I loved the setting and had a lovely relaxing week which did me the world of good and was what I was looking for. I would definitely visit again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had issues with the hot water and shower. Both issues have now been fixed ready for your return! Property Owner

Tastefully decorated.Everything was there that was needed. A bit cold at times, but understand costing would be a concern. Would love to revisit in the summer.

Thank you for your feedback, we have now supplemented the old heating system with additional heaters to help ensure a cosy time next time around. Property Owner

There were two points however that should be noted. The first was the fact there was a flat above which we found very noisy. The other less important point was the poor light in the bedroom for reading..

It was so peaceful having the 2 private gardens to relax in. Everything we needed was provided, The Apple Store is a little cooler than we are used to as we live in a modern house, but heaters are provided. And Whitchurch is a lovely village, with plenty to explore.

  • "We had a brilliant stay at The Apple Store thanks to the friendly and approachable owners, the incredible location, and the comfortable and homely cottage."

It was well equipped with everything we needed, the garden was secure for our dog, and the maps and detailed instructions for local walks left by the owners led us to some amazing places that we wouldn't have otherwise found. As mentioned in a previous review for this cottage, you can hear the people in the loft above quite clearly at times (especially if they snore!!), but we didn't feel that this distracted from our overall enjoyment of the holiday, and we will definitely be going back.

Nice little enclosed garden front and back. Welcoming cake, tea, coffee and milk. Kitchen with all the utensils you need. Plenty of space, lots of informative leaflets, books. Bedroom with a nice comfy bed. Bathroom compact but nice size shower with plenty of hot water. The hosts Craig & Lynne made us very welcome and were happy to help with recommendations on where to explore and where to eat. It was a really enjoyable short break.

  • "The Apple store is a very nice little barn conversion very well equipped and in a very lovely part of the country very good for walks."

The downside and its a big downside is that it also has an apartment up over and when occupied you can hear every noise above day and night which means a quiet and relaxing time away is not going to happen, we didn't realise this until reading reviews on another website after the event we feel that this should have been stated in the description.

The cottage is lovely inside and out with plenty of space for the pair of us and our two dogs. Everything was very clean, tidy, comfortable and of good quality and it had all we needed for a self-catering holiday. An added bonus was it's location in a "no street light" area which made for some great amateur astronomy!
